Worlds 2004 Updates

Post by wolfpac444 »

Rather than hijacking Ken's thread with my own posts, I'll start a new one here for World's updates. Ken can copy his posts here as well as his blog if he would like. Anyways, I'm just going to list some of the things that have been going down.

--Vasek: He has been hitting things like Scorpion's Tail Swirl and symposium flurry like nothing. One cool combo that he had in a circle was Superdooperfly > Symp. Flurry. Nemesis was looking easy for him as well. Ripstein is now pretty much a bail for him. It's incredible...

--Jere Linnanen is amazingly good. Every run of his has a whole bunch of unique fives. I saw him hit blurriest > blurrier [repeat], six blurriers in a row, and blurry drifter x3 > blurry torque. Jere's routine has a surprising number of hard five add links. He will definitely make BAP this year.

--Jorden has been tearing it up so far. No one really expected him to be as good as he is. All of his runs are really strong and original. I remember a circle where he had a run with a something like 5 unique 5's and 3 6's, blurry grifter bsos, and atomic grifter.

--Caleb Abraham has been shredding hard all week and has been holding his own in BAP-level circles. Lots of long runs with good links.

--Brad Nelson had a run with 69 in the middle of a long string.

--Johnny Murphy has been playing really well. Things I remember: nuclear ducking butterfly > 69 off his foot and nuclear eggbeater (paradox bladerunner).

--Ales and Honza are both playing the best I've seen them play. At the Tam Tam Jam, Ales played hard for about 6 hours hitting a lot of crazy combos. I heard he had paradox your mom off his foot. I don't think I've seen Honza miss alpine food processor.

--Felix, despite his injury, has been hitting lots cool combos. I saw him hit a perfect bubba set opp butterfly (it looked just like an atomic set set from same side clipper). He hit 4 double spinning clippers in a row and something like 6 paradox blenders.

--Penske is better than ever.

--All of the Finns are really good. I've been impressed with all of their play.

I better finish this post up soon. I'll try to post again later in the week. Peace.

I would love to know what videos are available for sale right now. I sent some money with my crew for Sick03 and Fourkast (did Red bring it?) but I really want every video that is being sold at Worlds that I don't have (i pre-ordered Champion's League through Monsterhack).

I also sent some miniDV tapes with Andrew and Derek, so I will hopefully have some neat footage when they get home. How are they doing? I'd love to know how they are being recieved.

A net player, Rob Adams, stopped by Winnipeg to say hi to Joel. Joel had already left for Worlds and he somehow got my number, so he phoned me and I told him that everyone had left and that he could crash at my house. He came and saw me at work and I made him some food. I told him to phone me a few hours later and I never heard from him again. I hope he's alright. He said he's been to Worlds for, like, 10 years in a row (not counting Prague).

People keep asking if I'm at Worlds. I'm not -- I'm still injured @______@

Yeah thanks for the update Mike. I like the run-down of all the various players. Very cool. I'm with Chan, I want to know about the videos and who all is there selling bags too.

Verena is amazing!!!
Her shred 30 score was 110.5 (by our unofficial video count)
and Carol's was 114
She could of won if she had hit some easy uniques she didn't (both osi, a torque, a ripwalk and a sidewalk) and if she would of avoided her clipper and mirage.
She shreds so hard...
Carol won't last for long...

I'm getting frustrated due to my goddamn tendonitis in my hip...it's like forced one-sidedness, and its taken away half my game. Really pissoffey.

But still, it's fucking WORLDS and I'm having so much fun. The shit being hit here is ridiculous.

I got video of Vasek hitting Fairy Ripstein > Double Blender > Superfly, into some more contacts.

As far as what he was trying...

Fairy Tripstein
Swirling Whirling Swirl
Frontside Fury SET opp butterfly. What the fucking fuck. Fuck.

Moir is busting out here too. Nemesis and Stepping Ducking Voodoo.

Johnny Murphy hit Swirling ss DLO today as well. Big.

So Carol beat Verena in Shred30...did anyone beat Carol, or did Carol take 1st? wondering where Caro fits in...1st? 3rd? How many girls competed in that event? I'm guessing very few.

Yeah, clippers kill a lot of the women in shred30. that's why i beat ann and carol at SJFF. I always start by dropping in to my butterfly.

Worlds s going crazy. So many good times I wanna write it all here but.... ehhhh
alesh hit bedwetter>your mom mid run
vaseks stirngs are like 50 contacts on average with 45 genuin.

Jere and Jorden are definate BAPS, the rest BAP will decide. Jere is super powerful and throws those shuffle 5s all the time. Jorden is unreal. Slicing opposite butter, and slicing blender in a run. blurry flux and blurry bs blurs bsos.
David Clavins is the future!!!He is representing...well

I was happy with my routine. But I have alot more sympathy for Ryan Mulronies in 2002 now.

Its sick to be emerced in shred all the time.

OHHHH YEAHH!!!

I haven't seen barraging ducking but everyones jaw is too ocupied on the floor to ask vasek to try. 5 dexes are possible for the golden child

Dylan fry, Jere, Jordan, Scott Bev, and Jim Penske all made it to routine finals.

Vasek ad Honza both went droplless in shred 30, Vasek won with 240s
HE DROPPED TWICE IN ROUTINES in semis. He better not do that in finals or there will be a new world champ. Hes still no qwuestion the best in the world though:)

Jorden really astounded me. his videos do him no justice whatsoever. Definite BAP.
I saw Vasek hit superfly > scorpion tail repeat. Ales is tearing it up also.
Open finalists are
Vasek, Ales, Honza, Jorden, Dylan Fry, Yacine, Gordon Bevier, Peter Irish, Jere Linnanen, Jim Penske.
Women finalists are Carol Verenna and Valeria I think.
