i'd just like to add about the fire footbag on saturday. on saturday night we played fire footbag in the driveway. if you haven't played you should, it's soooo fun. also when nick came back from the store with the glowsticks we somehow managed to kick the fire footbag into his chin, he was a little bit freaked out. also playing settlers was a lot of fun...and chessZeb Jackson wrote:OKay well the idaho jam is over so ill make a brief summary of how it went down!
For me the event really started on tuesday when me and my brother went and picked up Scott Behmer, Hes a way cool guy, and he fun to shred with! We took Scott the the freedom shrequarters, and it was the first time he had been there, so i think that was a neat expierience for him. Anyway, we ended up shredding up a storm with jim/daryl/dylon/and sonny as we always do, and it was a blast. Later after the shred we (me zac Jim and scott) headed up to lake lowell for a nice relaxing swim, needless to say it felt good. After the swim we say bon voyage to scott and jim and i headed home for the night to relax and stitch.
Wednesday:
Wednesday i really didnt do anything until about 4:30 when we headed out to a local free outdoor concert called "live after five" its pretty cool ive been going there for a couple weeks now, its really fun to kick there, and listen to music. We shredded there with Scott/Daryl/Sonny/and dillon for a while and i got to watch scott hit his longest tiltless run ever (37 contatcs) which is pretty good! Then Jim and Lon came up and asked us if anyone was going to pick up Louis Monhollon (wo0t!) so Jim and Lon headed out to go pick him up, and we continued shredding, we stayed for maybe another half an hour or so and then i went back to my apartment with zac and dillon to eat some food and then to shred it up with louis.
I love louis's style its freaking awesome, I also thank him for helping me out with me zooming set. Anyway we footbagged for a couple of hours and then i stopped and worked on Scotts Footbag that i promised him (well actually i promised him 2 but i only had time to finish one). Then i decided to stay the night at thier house so that my brother could go pickup kyle hewitt the next day and i wouldnt have to bum a ride off of anyone else. The night was insane i think i was up with Scott until 3Am or so playing this stupid marble game that only few people have accomplished (including Kenny Shultz!) Sonny told me and scott that if we finished it we could put our names on the back of it, so me and scott kinda went A.D.D. on it and switched back and forth......we didnt win...(this night anyway). After we had had our share of the game we decided to sleep, but it was kinda difficult with the Genzs kittens constantly attacking you in the middle of the night! I woke up once and one was pee-ing on the couch i was sleeping on....(evil/Cute litte bugger!) and then later on in the night the same kitten pooped on the couch that Scott was sleeping on. It was quite hilarious, execially when they constantly attacked our heads and stuff randomly throught the night (needless to say i only got like 4 hours of sleep)
Thurday:
Me and Scott woke up earlier than everybody else, and i worked on his footbag while he was playing the marble game. Then every once in a while we would switch off and then i would try. at about 10 am i BEAT IT! my name was immortalized with kennys, and then about 20 minutes later SCOTT BEAT IT! I knew it was only a mattter of time before one of us didanyway after we beat it we set off to beat it backwards ( we did it eventually).
At around noon when everyone had woken up i had a small session with Lon, and Louis, while scott watched (because he injured himself at live after five trying smudge) Then we relaxed and did miscelanous things all day including shredding and whatnot. At about 7-ish pm the Portland shredders arrived and kyle and my brother arrived Good times were had by all, as we all shredded up a storm till about 2:00am. I Got to meet Stefa, he's a really cool guy from germany, i think he's the coolest german i know now
at about 2:30 me my brother and kyle went to my house and went to bed getting ready for the nextday that was ahead.
Friday:
Uh...i think we went to the Genz house at about 12:00pm and everyone was gone except lon and red, everyone left them asleep and went to breakfast, so then we had a small session with lon and we played some 4-square which was really fun. ( i think kyle one the game we played)
Later everyone arrived back and we started to bust out the shred again, but not nearly as hard as the night before ( i think a couple people were sore) we just kinda hung out until later when the players party was supposed to start, a bunch of people game and jim along with a bunch of other people were playing drinking games, a couple people were playing 4 square, andf the rest of us were eating pizza, it was really fun.
Saturday:
EVENT DAY!
So we headed out to the event site, which was in the middle of downtown and there were SOOOO many people there, and we got a tennis court all to ourselves to shred in, it was awesome. Shred pretty much happened all day, i was in many circles with many people, i cant say one stood out from the other, they were all amazing.
Comps:
i think i did okay in the comps finishing 2nd in rippin run, and i still dont know what i finished in the rest of the competitions but for sick one i hit...
Diving butterfly,ripwalk,spinning osis
and for sick 3 i hit
Ripwalk>Whirl>osis
and my shred 30 kinda sucked, but i might have placed at least 3rd im thinking
Later that night we had a big demonstration on a stage at the event, and red MC'd it, Jim/Lon/Kyle/Nick/Louis/and stefan all tore it up onstage and made the crowd really happy! We went to back to Nampa and went to the players dinner at idaho pizza, it was really awesome!(lon is a master at pacman) and we at tons...and tons...of pizza it was good. Later we went back to the shrequarters and played some footbag, then Stefan busted out hin GLOW IN THE DARK FOOTBAG that he made and we played with it for a while. He had other glow sticks that we would put on our feet to make it easier to see. It was really fun. Then Nick and Zac got this crazy idea and went and bought 50$ worth of Glowsticks 2Glow in the Dark Machettes. We covered ourselves in glow in the dark stuff and proceeded to tear it up........in the dark......... After we were done shredding we took all the glow sticks and bordered the 4 square court with it...now we had glow in the dark 4-square! surprisingly itwas INSANELY more fun than regular 4-square, and we played about 4 rounds of it or so before we got tired.......and This for me was basically the end of the event, because the next day i had to drive kyle home. i left at 2:00pm and got back to boise at around 1:30 am, so it was pretty much just constant driving for me which was kinda lame, but at the halfway mark kyles uncle made me a mean hamburger for the ride home so i was content about everything now that i had a stomach full of burger in me
![]()
The next morning I went to the genzs to say bye to Nick and Stefan, but come to find out they left REALLY early so i didnt get to say goodbye to themwe hung out with red and sonny and scott and jim and lon for a while then we shredded, then we went to the lake. It was really cold and i didnt feel like swimming, but Jim and Lon swan after they footbagged on the dock for about an hour or so. It was fun. Later that day Scott got a phone call that his flight was canceled and he was put on an earlier one, so i drove him to his flight as fast as i could and luckily he made it (it was close!) So thats pretty much the event for me it was fun and exciting and i wishi could do it again!
:D:D:D
I will post again soon about how i did in the comps as well as a general sumerazation of me and my kicky-bag abilities

My Life: happiness lvl: good
ive pretty much got a job for the winter, which is really good, and it seems to pay very well, so hopefully this winter i can go to all the tourneys i can make it to, and buy a new snomachine for the winter.
life in general just seems so blurred lately, i think staying up until the wee hours of the morning almost everyday is starting to catch up with me. other than that, im poor, lol not much more to say about that.
OH YEAH! I finally went back to my hometown and visited my dog and family, it was great fun, i went camping with high school friends, and went to one of my old high schools football games it was fun, and im glad i went.
The shred: Happiness lvl: good
i havent really hit anything new lately nor do i really want to, i would rather just drill alot of what i know so that i know i am confortable with my game, and be able to hit any of the tricks i know on cammand...so lately these are my new records...
Ripwalk X4
kickless shred 156 contacts
tiltess shred 62 contacts
guiltess only shred 12 contacts
i also accomplished these....
hit blurry whirl
hit pdx whirl bs
hit a new drill of whirl>osis>whirl>osis>rev. whirl>osis>rev. whirl>rpt (it felt really good
landed spinning clipper bsos
footed spinning whirl
stepping ss clipper Bs
crispy torque bs
stepping op legover bs
can hit dimwalk midstring with strong pixie now
both pixies feeling really good, much better than a few weeks ago
other than that i think after i have a few basic tricks i can hit out of either BS i might consider learning a new concept like fairy or some thing

Muchas respectas for schooling that flipside, keep it up.

Yeah broseph, I had one of those session this weekend. They seem to happen when you least expect it, I really needed it. I FINALLY learned pixie. You can read about it my blog. It's funny because I was trying a completely different set of concepts and it gave me a new idea for pixie. So I hit a bunch of moves out it and progressing along very quickly, both sides tooZeb Jackson wrote:you ever have one of those sessions where everything just clicks?

ok well i havent updated this in quite awhile, and i had some time to kill, so i figured why not...
My life happiness lvl: decent
the whole life part is going pretty well, ive traveled to my home town, and visited my parents and friends a couple of times, so that makes me feel better, ive been hanging out with jim and the guys alot lately, its been pretty entertaining. Im getting kinda annoyed at my apartment complex, theres people who go outside at like 2:00 am and smoke....then my window is open and it reaks horribly it sucks, its a good thing its getting colder lately so i just close my window anyway.
My holloween went pretty good i stayed up until 2:00 am or so watching "ghost hunters" which entertains me, because i believe in them (if you want to know i was attached once, by something unknown....it scared the crap out of me)
anywho, thats about all that is going on now, i need to get some more thread so i can stitch the bags for the cornell jam...
the shred hapiness lvl: decent
the shred has been going good, i feel improvement, but i just dont feel like im playing my best, i think sometimes i overestimate my abilities, which is good sometimes, cause it pushes me to hit something, but 80% of the time im just dissapointed by monotonous shred, with alot a repeats, and only a handful of combos that i can say im really proud of.
anyway here are some highlights of some recent sessions (compliments to those who have challenged me)
blurry legover>dimwalk>run
spinning clipper>spinning clipper>whirl> rev. whirl
Gybas
Tap
ripwalk x 4 my new record
smear alot lately
pdx illusions are starting to feel better
Symp. Whirl x 3 on my strong x1 on my flip
was close to flip DSO
footed stepping torque
finally landing torque
my stepping actually feel reliable to me now
far legover> dimwalk>far legover>dimwalk
crispy torque> symp. whirl
flip spinning clipper a few more times
and thats about it if i can think of anything else ill post it, but i dont think there was much else...
if you read this...thanks for reading

lol okay i will tell you now....
and this story may sound like im on a ancid trip, but i totally wasnt and i was 100% sober
Anyway, i went to one of my parents friends houses for some dinner or bbq or something, there was a lot of people there. Well after it got dark and things started to wind down, a bunch of us just sat around and watched a movie (im pretty sure it was braveheart), and then someone told me that they wanted to show me something, and that it was upstairs, in the far bedroom, so i said okay, and followed him up there. Well right as you reach the top of the stairs there is a closet, and as soon as i got up there i could hear someone knocking on the door, and i said "hold on ill let ya out!" (thinking it was my friend who got locked in) i opened the door, and i was pushed in. and then the lights where flashing on and off, and it felt like something was holding me against the wall....
my friend finally let me out, but he said the door was locked shut and he could here me screaming..
really scary

well its been a while since ive had a full update...so here goes...
My Life:
Life has been decent to me, the only gripes i have are the fact that im really poor, and having to pay for stuff sucks.
"Welcome to the real world."
I still dont know what i want to do with my life. I mean sure theres a definate plan for footbag in there, but i dont know what i want to go to school for. Right now i have two options that ive set for myself right now.
option #1: Mechanical Engineering
Sure its alot of work, and definately alot of math, but it doenst really bug me all that much, i like engineering, i even won an award for it in high school, but im not sure if i want to spend the rest of my life in this option. There are many different things i could carry over from if i go for engineering, like computers and whatnot (which is what i would most likely do) But i dont know. Option #2 seems more like a career i could handle for the next 50 years are whatever until i retire.
By far this option pays more than option #2, so i would be more financially secure, but at the same time, do i really want to do it?
option #2:Biology/Zoology
This is more or less the opposite spectrum of mechanical engineering, but i figure, i love animals, i love the outdoors, and if i went for this when i got my degree and graduated i could go into a career in the forest service and whatnot, because i grew up in a very forested area, i still think a lot of the mentality that comes with "country life" is still ingrained in me, and i kinda want to fall back into that at some point. But i would go to school for the same amount of time, and spend the same amount as option #1 for an education, BUT i would get paid less. I JUST DONT KNOW.
I think ill just finish my generals in the next X semesters and go from there, maybe by then i will have decided what i want to do with my life, but right now im extremely unsure with what i want to do.
other than that, I am doing decent, christmas break is out, which means ill be going home soon to visit family and eat some more food, and then listen to my family tell me how much they worry about me, which is kind of annoying to me, but i know that they are just loving and supportive, so no matter how good off i am, they will still be worried about there family member that lives 5 hours away from home.
My gandma is the WORST at that, she ALWAYS tries to give me money, and every time i look at her, she looks like she is going to cry. She is EXTREMELY worried about me, and i think its unhealthy for her to worry so much about me like that. ehh........maybe she will calm down in time, lets hope anyway.
Now to think positive:
The school finally sent me my acceptance letter (5 months late), so now i can get my activity card, and then get a membership to the athletic center here at the school, so i have an indoor place to shred
its snowing in the mountains here in idaho....that mean 2 things....
Snowboarding
Snowmachining
my favorite pastimes in the whole entire world.
Im starting to eat better, which i think is crucial for footbag, i eat alot of fruits and vegetables now, instead of romen noodles (<- Classic college food)
Well thats how my life is playing out now...comments and questions accepted....
The Shred:
Footbag has been really decent to me lately, the only problems i have had are a small amount of hip soreness, from over working my stepping, atomic, and nuclear sets.
my pixie game is starting to pickup decently good, i think i need to school the flip a little more hardcore than i do now though, because it really sucks. Ive been watching a lot of vasek footage lately, and watching how he does things, and I learned ps whirls form the same way that vasek does them. I noticed (and jim pointed this out for me) that when vasek does a ps. whirl that before he even dexs the bag, he already has his clipper foot ready to catch the bag. And for some reason (i dont know if its some sort of mentality) whenever i do that, it makes ps. whirls much easier.
ive been hitting a couple 5's and i footed a 5>5 link but didnt hand seal
ripwalk record is now 8, instead of 7 (improvement is improvement)
infinity record is now 48 (previous record was 16 or something that i set a while ago)
ducking clipper record is now 6 (i think b2b was my previous record)
been focusing on drills alot lately
19 unique/bop guiltess is my new guilt record. I had the combo written down somewhere, ill find it and post it later...
peace out mahfizzied, peace out...
P.S./edit

lol yeah it took me along time to get
thanks for the props!
My life:Happiness lvl: Better than ever!
Well its been awhile since i have blogged about my life, so ill try to sum it up as best i can.
Lately ive had this huge weight on my chest, because i was worried about how i was going to pay for school next semester. I had applied for probably 30 scholarships or so with no return from any of them. Then last week i applied for about 5 different ones through BSU, and surprisingly a week later....I WON 3 of them!!!
Totalling over 3,000$ worth so that was a HUGE relief!
Now im sitting here trying to get into classes before they are all taken
,
but one of the classes requires me to have a 3.2 or better or i lose a crap load of money, so maintainig it might make me have to lax a little on footbag and focus more on school.
But thats something i think i can fortunatly handle.
The only other worry i have now, is getting another job, because my last one has finally ended, and im more or less living off the bags that ive stitched in the past couple of weeks (eh, it pays for food anyways
)
So here i am.....alone....in my apartment.....so after i am done here, im going to make myself some breakfast for dinner. I think im going to make Sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns because that sounds really good.
The Shred: happiness lvl: Im satisfied
Well lately footbag has been pretty frustrating to me, but tonight i had a session that made me realize that im not as far off as i thought i was to many different things, i just need to drill them more, because ive done them both sides, just not bsos.
An elderly woman with a mental problem came up to me today, and told me that she thought what i was doing was the coolest thing she had ever seen
That made me feel good about myself. I told her happy holidays, and she went on her merry way
. Then later an older man (probably in his late 40s, came up to me and told me that him and his son see me all the time outside kicking, and he was wondering if one of these days i could teach his son. I told him (in a nicer way) HELL YEAH! then i told him when i had time to do it or whatever, so sometime next week i get to introduce a new kid into footbag. Should hopefully be fun.....
The other day Jorden gave me some awesome advise on pixie, that more or less saved the life of my flip pixie....I thank jorden sooooo much for that advice
couple (but not all) highlights from todays session:
diving osis>whirl bs
ripwalk>pdx whirl bs
diving butter bsos
diving clipper>ducking clipper>rpt a few times
dimwalk bsos (surprisingly rare for me)
Far Guay>Toe whirl>Dyno
theres more......but i feel like being a secret agent, and keeping some secrets for myself (because i filmed them, and i want to make them a surprise
)
peace,
Footbag is fun...
thanks for the props!

Well once again i have neglected this blog, so i guess i will bog it it down with information about my holiday
and other related things
My Life: happiness lvl: better than ever
Well things seems to be looking up in all aspects in my life (not that they were horrible to begin with) I went home to hang out with kyle ( a lonley shredder in SE Idaho where i used to live, and to also hang out with my family for the holidays/ my birthday (im 19 now). Everything went pretty good i recieved a new car for my birthday (94 ford escort) not the nicest car in the world, but made me PENTY happy as my old one was turning into a heap of metal and plastic at a high rate of speed. Other than that, after living on my own for a while i have a better appreciation for christmas dinner with the family
My younger brother now that i have left has much less hostility toweards me now, maybe its because im never there and he misses me?
Kyle is his usual self, i cant wait until he graduated high school and moves to boise so we can have an awesome scene here (not that it sucks right now, but i think it would be evenmore fun with kyle)
my shred:
its really good lately, im starting to be able to hit atomics mid string, and im in the middle of learning quantum (which is a really fun set IMO)
the new video i made got some good responses to it (i liked all of them, they were all positive) i think my game is at the breaking point of a new level and im loving it.
tonight ill just post new records....
79 osii
56 infinitys
8 ducking clippers
8 ripwalks
there were more from this weekend, but i forgot them, ill post them later if i remember them
