Sorry switch kicker but my statement was 100% true. He used E=mc^2 when he thought it proved his point and now he claimed it was crap when i showed how it did not prove his point but actually went against it.

I would also like to know how you think my post is oblivious. It proves that light can have momentum without mass. That is what this discussion is currently about.

apoplectic, you do not understand this. At all. You are using equations that are newtonian or just not applicable like in the case of E=mc^2.

How can you guys be so stubborn as to argue against such a basic principle. You are not scientists, so dont pretend you know more than experts at NASA.

Ermm... both are made by electrons. A magnetic field is produced by a moving electric field (like an electron moving through a wire) and an electric field is produced by a moving magnetic field (like a permanent magnet moving will induce a current in a wire)

That is what light is, light is a periodic fluctuation on electric and magnetic fields leap frogging each other through space.

light and mass are manifestations of energy. when an antiparticle and a particle collide the energy that was formerly mass is converted into very high energy light. yes, mass is lost but energy is conserved. if you did the calculation the energy of the two particles would be

NOW you use E=mc^2 because these particles will not be moving at near light speeds.

Then if you were to look at the frequency of the light produced it would be

f=mc^2/h where h is Planck's constant.

No, your statement is false. Quite the opposite of 100% true. And you're oblivious, because you read the posts, but didn't comprehend what they said.

He tried to use E=MC^2 to try and prove you wrong. Then you shot that down, and made a statement that didnt' seem very believable. So when he told you, that the equation is crap, his current mind state was in a disbelieving state. Meaning, he didn't really mean, that the equation was crap, he meant it was crap only if you were correct about what you were saying. The later happened, of course, but then you gave an explanation as to why it isn't crap.

That's YOUR misunderstanding, not HIS ignorance, or swift mind changing.

The only way I can see someone mistaking something as simple as this, is if they were reading this while moderately ticked off, and if that's the case, lol, then you need to lay off Modified, or the Discussion/Kicking Circle sections for a while. There's nothing that should ever actually make you made enough to misunderstand simple sentences such as this, over the internet. Especially when you were advised to reread them a 2nd and 3rd time.

When you talk about relativity, and you say the words "at rest" you assume that the person listening knows you mean "relatively at rest" because there is no definite rest. I am sorry that he did not understand this when he read my post, but I thought it too obvious to bother explaining. Therefore when I read "this equation is crap" I thought that he knew that. Its hard to read the posts and comprehend them when they are totally wrong...

I got one good thing I can say about it though. Our high school has been the number one high school in the state for almost ten years now. Educational wise. Sports, we're usually 3rd or 2nd. Always 1st in swimming though.

Why are you attacking my location? That... really doesn't mean anything. And showing my location through a sig doesn't show that I"m proud of it. (Even though I'm perfectly happy where I am.)
