I read your blog all the time.

I like hearing about your stitching and shred and stuff.

Perhaps you could go into a little more detail about what you have changed between bags in regards to your technique.

Keep blogging, I will keep reading.

hello.

thanks for the replies about reading this. I am in awe that four people actually do!

Anyway, I'm still a little unsure about my knee, so no shred has gone down really. It doesn't hurt at all normally, but it feels kind of funny when I try to play, or when I bend it alot. I'll try again tomorrow, after a really long warmup and stretches.

I now have three bags to bring to GRASS, but I'm not going to take pictures of them because I'm a lazy dumbass. Sorry. :(

I also made a really cool footbag-carrying-bag to bring to GRASS, it can house about 12-15 footbags probably!

My stitching is going okay, but I'm not really happy with my progress as far as bag appearance goes. My hexagons are still a bit rumply, and my pents sometimes have funny little wrinkles on the outside. Meh, I shouldn't expect much, I haven't been stitching much. I hope to have at least 4 32's to bring to Rochester and a couple of 4 panels to sell to jugglers (aspiring footbaggers) for cheap.

32's-$20
4's-$5-7 depending on what I feel like.

I am suprised what affect tiny little changes in stitching style can have on the final product of a bag. I still haven't found a great pattern and stitching style to focus on, I don't know if I ever will.

I have my shred 30 all planned out, but I have no clue how much I will be able to practice it, with my knee and everything. It is pretty intense, lots of moves that are hard for me to do midrun, pdx drifters, blurs, diving butter, diving osis, but I wanted to keep my uniques pretty high. I might change it to be more drop friendly though.

I haven't been rollerblading for a while, and I've made myself stop until after GRASS. It's been a rough time, no footbag, no skating! I might go over to my dad's today and make a pvc rail to get a break from stitching and keep my spirits up.

Later,
Nathan

Woo! First in intermediate shred at GRASS. I thought I would come in 3rd or 4th, I guess I did better than I thought.

GRASS was lotsa fun, I'll do a little write-up about it.

I got there around 11:30 on Saturday, and registered right away. The footbag registration place was just a little table with all the prizes and stuff. I gave Aric the footbag I was sponsoring them with, and went over to play with Aric and Steve Gale. I played well. I warmed up a bit, but didn't stretch! :( My knee wasn't hurting though, And I could even get a few both sided pixie shuffle runs in.
I hit blurry drifter 2nd try in front of Matt Cross, and I think Sumo first try in front of him. aric went a way for a few minutes, then cam eback. I tossed him the bag, and first thing he does is whip out a Nuclear torque attempt. Right off his foot! I bet he'll hit within this month.

Then I go outside and find Tom Mosher and introduce myself. He had a totally different accent than I expected! A canadian accent, I guess. He got me the bag that I traded him for. Its really cool, but his new ones are way better! He seems to like the bag I made him, both he and Nick Laroche used it for the competitions!

Then I played footbag. heres all the stuff I remember
tom mosher- we were working on alot of the same stuff, like torque>ripwalk rpt and gyro stuff. he had mobius off his foot, but I was no where near getting it.
Jorden Moir- he was using one of my bags for a while too! He hit something crazy like stepping butterfly swirling monster i think? I can't remember, it was too crazy.
Aric Macintosh- super fast nuclear sets, great ducking and diving stuff too. he should try nuke dlo
Nick Laroche- styley!!he has the coolest swirling tricks and hit superfly in pants. He didn't seem to think it was clean, but it looked fine to me.
Chris dean- phat stepping and atomic shuffle.
Matt Cross- just cool in general. I didn't play with him much though. He had some really long strings with lots of fours and fives.
Will and Josiah Digges- As far as I know, neither of them have been playing long. I think will hit a 4>5>5 sick three. Insane.
Zach Hoffa- lot of improvement since Funtastiks. Good spinning ducking stuff, pretty consistent. I still beat you in infinity races though.

Then were competitions.

All the Open competitions were sick. Gordon had a killer routine, went fropless again, it was really creative too.
Jorden dropped twice I think, but I can tell he can easily hit it dropless. Jon Schneider's routine was cool, lots and lots of flyers.

I can't remember much of the Shred 30's, but Jon went dropless

Intermediate- I did well in shred 30, even though after the first 4 moves i forgot what to do and just did 4 add bails and BOP's.
I thought Tom and both of the Digges would beat me, but whatever.

Then at 5:00 I had to go to get dinner. I came back for the juggling show at 8 which was amazing. Peter Irish was in it, and juggled and played footbag at the same time. It was awesome, all the jugglers really enjoyed it. A fifteen year old girl was doing spins while jugglin fives clubs, I guess that's pretty hard

After the show I went back to the hotel and drove back to PA in the morning. :(

fuuuuuuuuuuun weekend!

Hey! Thanks for the comment!

This morning I was playing Gunbound. If you don't play, this story will make no sense. I was playing with my newbie account in a newbie server, and I was playing against two newbies who thought they were the hot shit. I just laughed at the stupid shit they were saying, and they decided I was new to the game because the only avatar I had was Wood Hair, which is basically the stupidest looking avatar in the game. So after a few games, I tell them that my real account was a Silver Dragon, highest rank in the game. Ok i'm tired of writing. Anyway, they didn't believe me and I ended up having to use sarcasm tags for the rest of the game, other wise they could tell if I was joking or not. A conversation kinda went like this

Me: I'm a pro! (after missing a shot really badly)
Noob 1: no ur n0t!
Me: Sorry I'll use my handy dandy sarcasm tags next time!
Noob 2: huh?
Me: [sarcasm] I'm the best player in Gunbound! [/sarcasm]

I love that game! :P

Oh! And today i just sent off all my thank you notes from my party, and I found out I sent one of them to the wrong person. So a couple days from now, a complete stranger to me will open up an envelope that says,

Hey,
Thanks alot for the $15 you gave me!

Nathan

and they'll think they're going pyscho because they can't remember giving a Nathan $15.

Later, me

PS- sometimes I play footbag

I am not a responsible footbag sewer. I always tell people that they will have a footbag in a week, and it ends up being over a month.

I feel really shtty right now.

Sorry to everyone that was promised a bag, they will come, but they will come late because I am an asshole.
