Shred day 19/5/05

I played for a bit and schooled both whirls

I hit whirl > infinity > whirl > infinity today to start the session which was good

I also worked on toe whirls and i hit:

PIxie Whirl :D

I really like this move and it looks so cool when dan and others hit it!

I can almost hit dso on command flipside now, but i gotta school datw flip harder.

Won my tennis 6-0 6-1 6-2 :)

Footbag is so sick
i cant stop thinking of it

My next goal is spinning whirl

Alex

ps i have so many assignments and im so fucked...exams are in 2 weeks!

Shred at home:

I played heaps today, just worked on my whirls again and also a bit of warriors. I can do flip warrior pretty consistantly today...not sure about the coming days. :?

I hit ripped warrior today, which i thought was cool.
I also tried out some online string competition things, but failed miserably.
Everyone should go to that topic! Its on Online competitions! Your missing the fun!

I also hit a flipside toe whirl, which i am very happy with. My flip whirls are starting to come along, and i almost hit flip pdx whirl too.

Im glad my flip pixies are getting more consistant, i can try dimwalk > ripwalk bs now pretty easily so its good.

The only bad news of the day...My footy team lost by like 50 points, when we were ahead by 30 points at the start of the 1st quarter....pretty depressing

Thats all from me for now,

Alex.

Hey all

I moved house! Yes i did. It's actually the floor above, and there is a balcony that is absolutely massive! 8O Its good cos i actually have a shred spot other than going into the city. I can shred whenever i want now! :D

So, because i just moved and my internet is fucked now, i am typing from school. I was so pissed off before because i lost my books on friday, and it had my calculator (graphics, about 300 dollars) and all sorts of shit in it.

I found it just then!!! im so stoked.

Ive been shreddingheaps too. I kicked with jon and dan this weekend and i had lots of fun. Stuff i hit yesterday by myself was:

down double down (not sure about its cleanness)
Blurrier (unsure about cleanliness too)

Anyways, i have to go study now!

Had a short kick with Scott today. First time i kicked with him for about 2 weeks, in the city.

Scott played really well, hit some cool drills like
whirl > drifter rpt which was really smooth. Osis are getting better for him too and also stepping.

i played ok, i hit some new drills and consecutives
whirl > ripwalk repeat
8 ripwalks
ripwalk > ripwalk > sidewalk > blur > smear > dimwalk > sidewalk
barrage paradon barrage

3 more exams to go! i cant wait till they are over...and i can just shred all the time after that! :D

Melbourne is getting really cold these days too, 2 days ago it was 1 degrees in the morning! 8O We should shred indoors more i guess.

Had a short session today with Melbourne's one and only dan ednie.
we had two sessions, one for about an hour in the morning and about 30 mins after school :D

The first session wass great, dan went really big hitting spinning whirls and vortex's midstring. his pdx whirls are like vasek's now..
I played alright in the morning, carrying a small injury in the calf and the hamstring, i cramped up real bad yesterday and it seems to have got worse.

However i did hit :
symple blender (this is a funny move)
paradon bsos
about a 20 contact run with bop's and toe osis etc.

In the afternoon dan and i were puffed, although he still went big. He hit a stepping ducking symple leg over which i thought was massive 8O he also went to hit on like vortex and even mobius midstring!! :D

I played really bad in the arvo, my injury was getting worse and i decided to stop early. I did have one run with like toe osis > pdx mirages both sides and stuff. There is a shred tomorrow so i hope my injury wont get bad :(

I also received a footbag from jeremy, that makes my beadbag collection to 4 which is really nice, including a sweet unbroken abshire :D

Exams are over for me as well! i did really well compared to previous years, and im really happy. Now that they are over this means more shred time!

GOtta chill now,

Alex.

Whaddddup

This weekend was along weekend, we got today off as well because of the "Queens Birthday". I wonder if they have that in other countries as well?

ANyways i shredded alot this weekend with Dan Ednie Scott and also Lynton Stephens who came to our kick for the first time in like 2 months or so. Jon lee also came along with the newcomer Sam, and we all had a great kick.

On Sunday we played near dans house, and Lynton showed us some massive combo's and damn his neutrons look so easy... He hit 2 new combos which were:

Stampede > neutron smasher
Stampede > paradon swirl
he also hit some other crazy shit and damn hes awesome.

Dan played well too, he also hit some new combo's that impressed us.
Blurry drifter > scorpions tail
That was huge! He also busted like 30+ contact runs including vortex and drifters and whirls.

Scott also played really well, he hit many many ripwalks and they are looking awesome. He hit fucking butterfly (fairy ducking) to start a run which was cool. Dlo bsos and all some cool shit too.

Jon Lee also played well, although i didnt see him play much as i was in the other circle. Super consistant with all the symp mirages and he even hit witchdocter midrun!

I played alright that day, i wasnt feeling too well after a party the night before. I hit a pixie paradon to start a run and a bunch of whirl bsos and stuff.

Monday Shred:

It was just dan sam and i today that played:
Dan hit some massive runs including one with like spinning whirl, vortex, scorpions tail, janiwalker etc. Hes getting good!

Sam shredded too, he is showing signs of coming back into the game, hitting some good solid tiltless stuff and including warrior!

I played alright today, i hit pdx dlo to start a run first go, spinning ducking clipper to start a run and also some longish guiltless runs with like a few 2 add bails. I need to work on infinities and osis though.

Melbourne shred islooking good, soon we will have a monthly competition so that would be cool.

2 more weeks until holidays! 8)

Dear Blog,

I had a 1hour and 45 min session today by myself at home. I decided to school components and i wouldnt stop until i hit a certain amount of tricks.

- Spinning clipper 20 strongside, 10 flipside, both are getting more consistent.
- 200 infinities - max was only 20 consecutive
- whirl - 30 strong side and 30 flipside. 9 consecutive strong, 3 consec flip
- Ducking clipper 30 - Consec was 4 maximum
- Ducking butterfly 20 - Consec was 3 maximum
- Pdx Whirl 10 strongisde, only 2 flipside
- Symp whirl 5 strongside, 1 flipside
- Ripwalk - 15 each side looking good, flip was higher set. Drilled.
- osis 60 - 30 strong 30 flip with half done with a softer bag (still bead bag) and other half done with non broken in bag

Overall it was a pretty tiring session for me, very tough. Thought of giving up many times but i thought to myself i might as well keep going.

Finally now that exams are over i cant give a stuff about school now. We still have 2 weeks but im just gonna focuse on footbag. We have the friday off and im just planning to shred all the way.

is it just me or do i not see any new footage of Vasek shredding. Is there a video from footjam or something? Did he shred much? I really miss old vids like Vasek Raw and ffo warmup to get to see his sickness. I wonder if there is more coming?

Melbourne's weather is fine, windy.

Blog,

I had another huge session today for 2 hours nonstop, and it was extremely tough. Half way through i felt like i was gonna collapse, but somehow rage against the machine helped me out.

I did the same method like yesterday, so:

Infinities : 200 - Maximum consecutive = 30 :D
Osis: 100 - 50 normal bag and 50 non broken in bag
Whirl :60 - 30 each
Ducking But : 30 - 15 each
Ducking clipper : 40 - 20 each
Toe Whirl : 40 - 20 each , the best feeling was when i did 5 flip in a row.
DATW: 10 - 5 each, didnt bother bout this much, but flip were looking good
Spinning CLipper: 20 - 10 each, flip were looking good. Spinning WHirl
PAradon : 10 - 5 each, flip was good
Pdx Whirl : 5 strong 3 flip - too tired to do anymore......
Blurry WHirl : 2 strong, 1 flipside! again too tired to do too many.....

That was my 2 hour session, im totally fucekd now. i definately need a bit of a break.

The next melbourne kick is this saturday (i think), and we are also holding a MONTHLY competition in 1 weeks time, which will be alot of fun.
This new kid wants to play footbag too so Melbourne's scene is going pretty well. I really should call this my blog but i like to write about other players when we kick together.

ANyways, any comments are welcome.

I like it how you ozzies say "switch".

I remember the first time I kicked with Ian, he said something like "pixie switch" and I thought that sounded really cool.

Anyway, cool to read up on this blog,

Good work Alex for representing the Melbourne scene!

There is a video from the Melbourne Footbag Club that features footage from the Australian Footbag Championships including Dan Ednie, Jeremy O'Wheel, Dylan Fry and Alex Uranos.

I don't know how to put it on the net but I will give Alex a copy this weekend and hopefully he can do it.

Have Not posted here for a while.

Today remarks the start of my 1 month HOlidays :D
I also wagged school today and i guess it was bad but it was ok.
Recently i havent been kicking much, only trying single tricks at home whilst recovering from fatugue.

Some stuff that ive hit recently :

flip reverse whirl
toe reverse whirl
far reverse whirl
clean toe set blender landing in middle of lavers

This is a vid from Video topic, featuring Australian CHamps 2005
It includes vids from busking, and other stuff. I definately reccomend it!
