flux of pink indians is pretty good. i listen to flux about every other day. speaking of which, ima put in some flux.
OMG you mentioned throbbing gristle...they arent punk but what a strange person genesis p. orrige is. i sat and read a biography about genesis p. orrige while smoking some really strong hydro and the book had my head all kinds of twisted. it touched on orrige and throbbing gristle and christian and cosey and coil/mortal coil and a bunch of other stuff related to them. strange pictures of some of the performance art too. just plain weird man.
ive come across all those names you mentioned rob. but ive only heard alexisonfire and the jury is still out as to whether i like them or not totally. ive heard a few songs i liked but ive heard some waily-buttrock-guitar crap that turned my stomach. im not too knowledgable on anything newgen HxC so i cant really say anything.

wow...not many ppl know who the slits are and those that do tend to not like them. i really like their first album 'cut'. insane they didnt know how to play instruments when they formed the band. i think their music was soo good (even though it was so raw) simply because of the passion they had for the music they played. and they do a solid cover of 'man next door'.

Sorry for the double post, and also for bringing up an old post, I just was never interested in this thread. I just like the way underooninja says "didnt yer mommy tell you if you have nothing nice to say then dont say anthing at all" Followed by "try not to be such narrow minded ignorant clods"underooninja wrote: the title of this thread is not 'do you like punk?' so if you have any opinions about punk that you feel the need to share, make a seperate thread for it.
didnt yer mommy tell you if you have nothing nice to say then dont say anything at all? try not to be such narrow minded ignorant clods. i understand how daunting of a task that may be but do us all a favor and think before you open yer mouths and prove to us all how much of an ass you both really are.
Hmm - what's that saying about preaching and practice...

hahaha yeah jeremy im full of hypocrisy...makes life fun.
the pixies rock!!! i dont know if they would be dubbed punk though, but the pixies are definitely worth mention. whats yer fav pixies album jeremy?
good deal drew...i noticed in another post you mentioned the adicts...right on. its always good to find something new. i learn of new bands everyday it seems. a friend of mine pointed me in the direction of a band called slaughter and the dogs the other day. funny cause they are first gen Oi! and i thought i knew everything about early Oi!. jordan turned me on to a band called abrasive wheels in this thread for instance that i was not aware of before and i like em now so yeah new stuff is always good.

well monday starts the spring break punk showcase at the fitz out here. there are a few bands i wanna see really bad.
last night was awesome...i hung out with a lil punker commie chick i know. that chicks rocks my socks...too bad shes married. we listened to some Oi! like oxymoron and the oppressed and she wanted to hear some screamo like alexisonfire, from autumn to ashes (i think they are called), and at the drive in. i really dont think i heard anything i cringed at or even didnt like for that matter. i havent been convinced to buy anything yet but i enjoyed what i heard. shes emo and she had to have her fix
so we played the likes of the get up kids and mr. t experience. we also went on a totally union/socialst/worker party kick playing some commie band she knew (i dont remember the name) and there was some dropkick murpheys and some more oppressed. we ended the night, hahahaha i mean this morning at 6 am, with beer and pipe in hand, complaining about not being able to see straight and how it was affecting our performance at super mario brothers2 and listening to electro punk like gravy train, chicks on speed and Adult. oh yeah and i played some outkast and nurse with wound and some other cheesy things like 'oh yeah' by yello and 'kiss' (i think thats what its called) by prince. btw...who is rise against? that commie chick mentioned them. damn this turned out long...
Oi! fuckos bwahahahaha
