So today I shredded with Steve and Jeff. We went over to Steve's house for like 45 minutes, but then he had company over so Jeff and I had to leave.

So, we went back to my house and shredded for over 2 hours. I was doing pretty darn good even though I was only doing flipside clippers. I swear my flipside won't be flipside very long. I hit one run that was all flipside stuff. It was something like spinning clipper x3 > spinning butterfly > spinning pdx whirl > spinning clipper > spinning pdx whirl > hand catch. It was sweet!

Also I hit a combo: flip blur > parkwalk > spinning clipper > peaking osis > dlo > torque > hand catch I should've kept going... oh well.

Another combo was: flip whirl > barrage > flip toe whirl > spinning pdx whirl > hand catch. Man I need to stop catching the bag...with my hand that is.

I hit some other good runs. It's really tough on your brain when you can only use one clipper. You really have to think while you play. Well, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Today shredded with the club. I hit some nice spinning stuff and whirling stuff. I was hurting from yesterday. My hip was killing me and my lower back got tweaked yesterday and then today. So I left a tad early, I'm definitly gonna rest tomorrow.

Ok, so I played today. My hip was sore, but after a bit it was ok. I tried not to use my hip as much as possible so I did a lot of clipper stuff. I'm in a hurry so I'll be quick.

Some highlights:

7 flip peaking osii
4 flip peaking osii freezes
peaking osis > whirl > rev. swirl > spinning pdx whirl - all flipside
some really good spinning/whirl runs

I think you mean gyro osis rather than peeking osis.

Gyro Osis is
clip > backspin > same osis

Peeking osis is
clip > backspin > backspin > op osis

I was told that gyro osis was peeking osis. So which is it?

I did clip > back spin > ss osis > repeat.

Is this gyro or peaking osis?

EDIT: The footbag record list says a gyro osis is a peeking osis so I guess you were both right and wrong at the same time.

thats both gyro osis and peeking osis. ThoughI like to think of it as peeking clipper. In fact now that windsor is "gone" :wink: I think I'm going to redefine peeking. Cause I can do that sorta thing 8)

great stuff man, but you really gotta listen to your own advice more. Of all the things that get hurt from footbag, ankles, knees, and hips are the main pains, and if you'd have listened to yourself in the first place and took off as much time as planned, your ankle would be healed already, and I would really like it if your hip didn't blow out for a while either. So try to take it easy, take joint supplements, and keep everything else up, and I'll see ya soon.

oh, and btw see John 10:34, and John 14:20 :-) We'll talk about them sometime.

Peace,

What about them? If there is a theological discussion going on here I want to be a part of it. Oddly enough, Bum's the reason I am a Christian. :)

John 10:33-38 wrote:33 The Jews said, "We're not stoning you for anything good you did, but for what you said - this blasphemy of calling yourself God." 34 Jesus said, "I'm only quoting your inspired Scriptures, where God said, 'I tell you - you are gods.' 35 If God called your ancestors 'gods' - and Scripture doesn't lie - 36 why do you yell, 'Blasphemer! Blasphemer!' at the unique One the Father consecrated and sent into the world, just because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? 37 If I don't do the things my Father does, well and good; don't believe me. 38 But if I am doing them, put aside for a moment what you hear me say about myself and just take the evidence of the actions that are right before your eyes. Then perhaps things will come together for you, and you'll see that not only are we doing the same thing, we are the same - Father and Son. He is in me; I am in him."
First off I would like to say that you might want to do research before just posting a scripture to try and prove something when you haven't really studied it. You have to take scripture in the context of how it is written just like every other book you read.

1. You notice that when Jesus says "I tell you - you are gods", that the g in gods is lowercase. Why is that? Because when the word god is used with a lowercase it usually means false gods or idols, when an uppercase G is used it means the one true God. So Jesus is not saying you all are the real God, He is talking of something totally different.
2. The jews at that time actually took the meaning of the word gods in this context to mean, "like angels" as in your spirit comes from above(heaven).
3. Do you know from where Jesus was quoting this scripture?
Psamls 82 wrote:1 God has taken His place in the divine assembly;
He judges among the gods: 2 ";How long will you judge unjustly
and show partiality to the wicked? Selah 3 Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless;
uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. 4 Rescue the poor and needy;
save them from the hand of the wicked."; 5 They do not know or understand;
they wander in darkness.
All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6 I said, "You are gods;
you are all sons of the Most High. 7 However, you will die like men
and fall like any other ruler."; 8 Rise up, God, judge the earth,
for all the nations belong to You.
So, in this sense gods is a title given to the judges of the old testament who judged truly, justly, and with righteousness. Not saying that they are the same as God or will become one themselves.

------------------------------------------------------------

John 14:19-21 wrote:19 "In a little while the world will see Me[Jesus] no longer, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live too. 20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, you are in Me, and I am in you. 21 The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father. I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him."
Again you might want to research this stuff first....

1.
In that day you will know that I am in My Father
Ok, so all throughout Jesus' ministry he always said he was God. Father, Son, Holy Spirit = God
He(Son) was in God(Father) and God in Him.
John 12:44-45 wrote:44 Then Jesus cried out, "The one who believes in Me believes not in Me, but in Him who sent Me. 45 And the one who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.
John 14:9-11 wrote:9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been among you all this time without your knowing Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who lives in Me does His works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. Otherwise, believe because of the works themselves.
John 10:37,38 wrote:37 If I don't do the things my Father does, well and good; don't believe me. 38 But if I am doing them, put aside for a moment what you hear me say about myself and just take the evidence of the actions that are right before your eyes. Then perhaps things will come together for you, and you'll see that not only are we doing the same thing, we are the same - Father and Son. He is in me; I am in him."
Essentially saying He is God. Which I believe you said Jesus never said.

2.
you are in Me
If you were to just read the beginning of the next chapter He explains what this means....
John 15: 5-8 wrote:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me. 6 If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples.
Remaining in Him means reading His words, acting on them, and always thinking about Him. This does not mean we are equal with him, he is "the vine", we are "the branches". Are the branches of a vine or tree equally as important as the vine or trunk? No way, a tree can live without some branches, but without a trunk it is dead.

Also it's worthy to note that christians are refered to in the Bible as "The Body of Christ". Meaning all of us together are representing Christ to the world because he is no longer physically here.

3.
and I am in you
As in when you accept Jesus into your heart and ask him to be your savior. When you do this He lives in you and helps you through life with choices you have to make. He gives you the grace needed to handle life and all its many difficulties.

Some notable verses that might interest you:
John 14:6 wrote:6 Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
You really can't argue with that verse can you. Jesus didn't say you can become a god too if you do good things, or don't murder, or don't eat certain things. Jesus said that he was the way, truth, and life and you're not even able to approach the Father except if you accept me first (modern language used, of course).
John 10:1-18 wrote:1 "Let me set this before you as plainly as I can. If a person climbs over or through the fence of a sheep pen instead of going through the gate, you know he's up to no good - a sheep rustler! 2 The shepherd walks right up to the gate. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate to him and the sheep recognize his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he gets them all out, he leads them and they follow because they are familiar with his voice. 5 They won't follow a stranger's voice but will scatter because they aren't used to the sound of it." 6 Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. 7 So he tried again. "I'll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. 8 All those others are up to no good - sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn't listen to them. 9 I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for - will freely go in and out, and find pasture. 10 A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. 11 "I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary. 12 A hired man is not a real shepherd. The sheep mean nothing to him. He sees a wolf come and runs for it, leaving the sheep to be ravaged and scattered by the wolf. 13 He's only in it for the money. The sheep don't matter to him. 14 "I am the Good Shepherd. I know my own sheep and my own sheep know me. 15 In the same way, the Father knows me and I know the Father. I put the sheep before myself, sacrificing myself if necessary. 16 You need to know that I have other sheep in addition to those in this pen. I need to gather and bring them, too. They'll also recognize my voice. Then it will be one flock, one Shepherd. 17 This is why the Father loves me: because I freely lay down my life. And so I am free to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me. I lay it down of my own free will. I have the right to lay it down; I also have the right to take it up again. I received this authority personally from my Father."
You might want to pay particular attention to verse 16:
16 You need to know that I have other sheep in addition to those in this pen. I need to gather and bring them, too. They'll also recognize my voice. Then it will be one flock, one Shepherd.
Notice this little word that makes a BIG difference. The word is "one". See so if we all can become gods or just like Jesus, then why did he say there will be ONE flock (people who follow christ) and ONE Shepherd(Jesus). Wouldn't he say we were all shepherds or all the flock if we were equal with him?

Do you know how dumb sheep are? Really, they are stupid animals. They run off by themselves and get lost and get eaten by wolves and lions. That is if they don't have a shepherd and even then they still run off because they are that dumb. Now there is no other person in history that I would want shepherding my dumb behind than Jesus because if I(one of the dumb sheep) were the shepherd, we'd all be in trouble.

So in conclusion, yes we are sons and daughters of God, but we are not the same as Jesus and/or God. Like a famous christian comedian said, "If my feeble mind can understand the complexities of the Creator of the universe and the Controller of all things, then we are all in deep trouble."

Do you know why I love the Bible? Because it's the infallible word of God (with a capital G). Man, if the same people who invented Furby's, New Coke, and the Chia Pet could become gods, we are SCREWED!

This page reminded me of the episode of the Simpsons when Homer stops going to Church. Reverend Lovejoy comes to dinner at the Simpsons house to talk to him about it, and quotes scripture, and Homer replies:

"Oh yeah. Well, um, what about in Matthew...3...uh... 12."

Rev. Lovejoy: "and he led them out of Egypt, across the desert"?
Homer, pausing, then with a straight face: "Yeah." Pauses. "Think about it."

oi, I don't have nearly the time to reply to this in full right now, but let me just say three things...1, I will come back to it. 2, where did I say I was trying to prove something? You always come at things so competitively and assuming that I'm trying to do something negative, and its beggining to cause division within the club.

3. And most importantly, you say twice I should do research first...and I got some news for ya man

THIS WAS MY RESEARCH! I could NEVER put together all the proper elements to speak about as you have, nor would I have just randomly dropped random line numbers in your blog without some commentary if I had. I merely wanted to BRING IT UP and begin a discussion...yet you took me for making a conclusion when I was merely opening the book in the easiest way possible. And on top of that, you act like you have made final conclusions to the topic when we've just scratched the surface.

And as one final note, I think that me being the reason Steve's a Christian is the funniest thing I've ever read on the forum, though it does make sense in the local context of things. But boy Steve, do I have a book that you are going to LOVE to read.

Peace for now, I'll try to set aside an hour or so within the next 2 days to come back to this.

Why would I want division?! I'm the one who got everyone involved, who makes sure everyone shows up every week, who complements you all lavishly for showing up early, and who started the Vegas session blog so that we could play TOGETHER rather than you guys playing one your own WITHOUT TELLING ME. I'm NOT the one who hung back when we moved up out of the sun and divided the group on Saturday, you are!! And you didn't even say GOODBYE! WHAT THE FUCK!

I have been in a state of extacy emanating from within all the time and between this and the other topics on this forum...the largest external cause of my happiness (footbag) is about to make me cry...I don't know why I can never get through to you with ANYTHING! Bush starts unneccessary wars and you who preach religion whose main message is peace stood for him no matter what I said... I teach you everything I can and arranged my busy day for a whole year to play with you and help you get better and plan to have you as my partner and you decide to move the meetings for a few members of the club when it has been in the same spot for over TEN YEARS! Just because you leave early and miss it all the time, there is food after footbag every week, I want to start club dues to help you guys with gas and costs of having a club, I try to encourage you guys to carpool, I GOT MY CAR TO MAKE SURE THAT FOOTBAGGERS COULD GET TO THE MEETINGS and I can no longer drive for three years for something that was not my fault and you want to take my meetings from me! To have a university club means to play at the university! To support footbag means to play in public and support the sport! I just submitted an email bidding for the option to hold worlds here in 07 and spend more hours than I could ever dream working to bring an event here for WHAT! YOU UNGRATEFUL PRICKS. I can't even continue the talk on God now, and I was going to open you you up to whole new worlds of love and knowledge and the actual reaching of heaven in this lifetime and the becoming God that Jesus spoke of (which was used in lowercase simply because man is limited and therefore cannot embody all of the creative force while in the confines of the body.)

I'm beginning to understand Eric Windsor more and more...and although I'm not, it would feel really good to moke a fat bowl and forget about all this right now, but I have to be fully conscious of the sadness you have thrown on my heart and I doubt you even friggin care.
