John Bagi, if you're still around on Sunday, I'm gonna probably be playing at the Bahen Centre starting somewhere around 11-12.
So I'm going to play on Sunday. There may be a couple prospective members coming out then, so I'll make the trek. All others of course are welcome!

Ok I'm there 100% tomorrow at 3PM!!!!! Sunday shred: my free ride leaves back to Kingston early Sunday sooo. Well, if I get to shred with Josh and meet other people who stall footbags on there feet then.... I might be willing to pay $50 for a bus ticket and skip the free ride. This will be the most dedicated footbag decision I've ever had to make. 
First think about how to practice or don't bother practicing.

Hey all!
Here's the story.
I asked for this Sunday off to play with FAT, and it turned out we played on a Saturday. At 3 too, when I work a 2-7. I couldn't get rid of my shift, so I traded with someone for their 10-6, and since it was slow, I was let go (after working my ass off for 4 hours to get ahead) when my colleague arrived at 2.
I had my gear pre-packed for just this possibility. With a sheepish grin and a wave to my middle-aged coworkers, I clocked out early and had my bag checked by the manager. No couches in there... but some smelly shoes! With a scruch of the nose, I was cleared for departure.
The subway was a short walk away. As it turned out, it was an even shorter jog. I payed my fare and took the series of 4 subway cars, each bringing me closer to my destination. Shred.
I arrived at the venue at the predetermined time. Mike Faille and Erik Chan beat me there. Punctual is a good but lacking word to describe Mike. You could set your watch to Mike arriveing somewhere to shred: just take 10 minutes off the time everone else is supposed to be there. Mike lives footbag. He sets up our tunes for sessions; a responsibility he gives himself, usually thanklessly and without anyone offering to step up next time. I'll try and at least bring some CD's.
Erik, Mike, and I started playing, and before long we were joined by Adam Greenwood. As we all began to get into a groove, we were constantly asking ourselves "Where's John Bagi? He said he'd be here." John was down from Kingston and we were all looking forward to playing with him again, actually for the first time for Erik and Mike. While waiting for him, Erik snapped some shots of the rest of us playing. That is what Erik does thanklessly. Since he's been here more footage of FAT has come out than ever before, and yet nobody yesterday offered to take a picture of him, including me. We love you Erik, next time I'll take some camerawork too.
John did show up, a little late, but we all knew he'd be there. Mosher and Derrick are doing some kind of job on this young man. His skill is growing very quickly in both kicking and stitching. I tried one of his bags, which was very small and very very nice. I like small footbags.
With 5 of us indoors, we bagan to get warm very quick, and ended up dragging Mike outside. No outlets out there for his stereo, and the concrete was pretty rough. However, we played there for well over an hour. The sun did eventually nestle itself behind a building, though, and we were getting cold. Toronto's April has been colder than its January.
Everyone had been playing great. This is not a highlight story, as you can tell, it's a summary of the day itself. But eventually we did become fatigued, and out tired legs caused some kicked legs, an ankle roll, and knee tweak. By the end, however, it can be said that we stopped at our bodies' request, not because our passion had faded. John left a little before us, and eventually it was time for the remaining four to plan the next step.
Adam has good memories of Ein-stein's bar, so we went there for food and a couple drinks. Mike and Adam split 40 wings, half Jamaican and half Mexican, though both spicy and extremely aromatic. The only downfall was the eventual conversation subject of the reasons meat can be gross. I had a mexican burger, and the jalapenos were sweet. Erik had a triple decker club sandwich. Excellent meals. Erik drank water, Mike rum & coke plus some house beer, and Adam and I split a pitcher of house beer, finished off by another pint.
Our bellies full and our bodies sore, I departed from the group. The three of them were off to see Grindhouse, but I'll rent it later. Clipper, my Yorkshire Terrier, had been home alone for a while, and I wanted to watch BOTS, which Mike loaned me so kindly. Nice story Josh! I had such a fantastic time yesterday - both playing and hanging out afterwards. It was great to meet John - who's potential is frightening. Hope your anke is ok dude.
My only highlights:

Since Josh laid out the day I only have highlights to add for myself.
Phoenix>Spikehammer>Reactor Sooo close to Atomsmasher>Tripwalk>Blur>rpt Darkwalk bsos with a phoenix and jackknife in the same string. Great shuffle.....I'd been spending a lot fo time on other non-shuffle elements and it was nice to just go balls out with smears, dimwalks blurs all the usual shuffle suspects. Hit 15 Shuffle a couple times. 35 Guiltless with lots of fours and a couple 5sWow -- you make the session sound so much better than I remember it being. It was that awesome, I just wouldn't be capable of making it sound so good in words, like you did.
I definately agree about Mike's punctuality -- he's like the anchor of FAT; the one person who's always there shredding and organizing everything, although Adam is super good at that too -- I think his light shines for performances though and getting us shows. Adam is really good at publicizing us...even if it is through rolling on the floor at a strip club...
It was really good to shred with Josh for once -- I was telling Mike the other day how he brings such a positive attitude to the circle -- it's really refreshing and he always seems to excited about what everyone is hitting.
It was a pleasure to meet John Bagi. He has a really solid, bothsided foundation. His style is really smooth -- so much so that the toe stalls lengthening out his runs didn't even seem to break up his rhythm(?). He was averaging, like, 20 contact runs. The 32s he brought with him were REALLY nice too. I only played with one, and it was soooo good. It reminded me of Jorden's Clavens bag. I really want a nice bag like that. I also saw him playing with a pink and blue bag and made me want a nice bag with similar colours.
I was really groggy from not much sleep, I guess, and was having a frustrating session for the most part. I hit some stuff that I was happy with though:
-gyro DLO > pixie clipper [repeat] (first or second try -- it kind of just clicked -- cool! -- might have been from a run where I did like 5 or 6 gyro DLOs and they just felt more dialed more than usual)
-a run with blurry drifter, vortex BSOS, and stepping rev whirl (really wanted vortex > stepping rev whirl, but oh well) -- vortex was kind of on today (flip didn't hurt much)
-close to blurry voodoo out of nowhere (only hit merlin, like, 4 times ever, or so...)
-3 blurry rev whirls (my record so far -- frustratingly trying to push more, but it's kind of more last minute than blurry whirl...it's not hard, but definately frustrating to not be able to do more)

As much notice as possible as to when you're coming would be great, so we can clear our schedules and whatnot.
I'd be happy to pick you guys up at the train/bus station if thats going to be your method of transportion, or meet you somewhere if you're driving. Just let me know your ETA.

Hey guys. Well, i have a somewhat footbag related story for this weekend. I pretty much brought up my lavers thinking i'd be able to play more. I was able to attract another player to the scene tho. He's been my buddy hacker since i started but never wanted to invest the time and the money for lavers. He was a non-believer saying "They're ugly" or "They don't work" or "Its a damn bowl!" Well, he tried the lavers and after 10 min he didn't give em back for 2 hrs and is seriosly thinking of a pair of his own. I'm hoping for a new FAT member...He pretty much is learning to continually stall with rythem...figured thats a good place to start. Hopefully I can get him out to more sessions, he's my age so thats another new member if he commits.
