Hey everypeople,

Things are going well with the planning, I think we will be using the hotel conference room as the comp site + rain location (just incase).

Also, this is a reminder to start thinking up things you will want to perform in the no-rules performances!

I think I will be getting two kegs, since we are having a party at my house friday and saturday I will know how much we can consume from the first night then I will determine if we need any more.

Hmmm.. i should get a projector to blast shred videos onto the wall.

That'd be so sick.

Okay I have some bad news but then I have some good news that is so good it makes you completely forget about the bad news!

Bad first - Queen's (my school) turned down my request for funding, that means this is all going to have to be done on a VERY tight budget and I may have to add 5 more bucks to the entry fee maybe.

BUT!!!

I got us a SICK (!!!!!) location FOR FREE!!!!!!!!

So that means that we don't have to pay the several hundred dollars required to rent out space for the competition!!!

Check this out, I was down at the Holiday Inn (where everyone is staying, which is also directly down the street from my house, you can see it from my house) taking care of some details and I went with the lady in charge of renting the conference spaces. She took me upstairs to the one they had available for saturday.. it was.. erm.. crap! also it was insane expensive. She had a suggestion though... she said to me "Perhaps the Holodome would better suit your needs."

So she takes me to the Holodome...

Hot shit!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is this big glass walled room right next to the fitness center, pool, jacuzzi and sauna and it has CARPET flooring in one half and perfect smooth grippy laminate flooring in the other half!!!

The glass wall looks out onto the lake and it's all very scenic and the best part is that it's 100% FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

So not only can we use it for the main event site on Saturday, we can also use it as a back up rain location! Not only that, the hotel is right next to the park where the stuff is planned so ít's all very compact.

I am going to compile an important info post in a second, i just wanted to post this amazing news!

Okay, here is a big bunch of info.

Here are the people that came to me first asking for crash space:

- matt cross
- nick laroche
- josh digges
- willie digges
- Claudia Gucciardi
- Dan Cyr

There were other people that have asked to crash at my house, you get the floor if you don't feel like ponying up for the hotel.

A few people are crashing at Peng's house, I can't remember who though, definately Pat Tallon and.. not sure.. there are a few.

Okay here is some important info!!!

My house is located at:

160 A Princess Street
Kingston, Ontario
K7L 1B1

The Holiday Inn is located at:

1 Princess Street

They are VERY close to eachother.

Here is how to get to my house from the highway:

You will be coming in from the 401, get off at the DIVISION STREET exit and go SOUTH.

Take Division all the way to PRINCESS STREET which is where I live.

Go LEFT onto Princess.

Take Princess down to BAGOT STREET.

My house is on the corner there, I will put up LOTS of signs, don't worry.

If you wish to park near my house there is a parking lot right around the corner from my house on Bagot if you turn right.

To get to the hotel from my house you just go straight down princess until it ends, then you are at the hotel. Princess is a one way street from Division to the hotel, so it's pretty hard to fuck that up.

The event site for friday/sunday (if the weather is good) is called Confederation Park, and it is right next to the hotel.

On Saturday we will be playing at the hotel.

Also a reminder, the party saturday night will be when we have the No-Rules Performances, start thinking up some cool/wierd shit you can do to put on a fun show. Jared and I have been practicing our stuff alot!

There will be players packs with all the schedule of events and whatnot.

Regarding the rooms at the hotel, I have sent a list to the dude, I put people in rooms together kinda randomly, we're all friends right?

I will post the room listings when I am at home and have the list in front of me.

It's kinda torturous to me... but hopefully I'll feel better in a few days. just to add a little to tom's post, division is closed for about four blocks and there is a short detour to get past the construction, but it's actually easier if you just take division over the first bridge to JOHN COUNTER BOULEVARD where you turn LEFT. It will curve to the right and eventually you will turn right onto MONTREAL ST. You can take montreal all the way to princess, it runs parallel to division, but takes you a block from bagot st. instead of five blocks. Might work better - I'd print out mapquest directions though

Also, we might have a drumkit in our house by then. Jamtastic!
