yes sir

Post by funklovesfootbag »

barrages are still very ugly and inconsistent, and by inconsistent i mean i've only footed it so far. And sometimes i make my knee hurt a little bit. i hit whirl but stopped practicing it for a while for whatever reason.. i'll try and practice them more. Symposium whirls as easy as legovers?! i dunno.. it seems a bit more complicated to me.. I'm sure you COULD hit it without sweating, but you've been playing for like 2 years now right?

once you get the motion it becomes really easy, you will understand once you hit it.. its not easy to learn the motion perhaps..
I'm not trying to rush you, just giving some challenges I think can be within your reach :)

1/9/06 school session

Post by funklovesfootbag »

played at school with my cheerleader ^, chris and chad.

hit ripwalk bsos.. but there were only 4 tricks in the string.
infinity X8

some decent runs but pretty sore from yesterday, played poorly for the most part. footed ripwalk>pdx illusion, attempted ripwalk>ripwalk, attempted whirl.. i've hit that trick but i feel like i've never even tried it. the timing is all weird and my clipper set is still inconsistent.

thats it i think. :D

*edit* forgot i also hit stepping clipper, i think for the first time. only strongside though... need to perfect my goddamn stepping set. this week and next i think im gonna drlll stepping, atomic, flip atw and illusion, and whirl.

challenge:
perfect flip clipper before moving on.

20 ss clipper contacts
clip>ss butt>ss clip>ss butt> rpt
flip clip> ss pickup>flip clip>ss pivkup>rpt over and over
delay your flip clippers super slowly and learn to set them straight up at diff. heights

I agree clippers need to be really natural and able to set at the necessary heights as needed for different tricks, if they are not perfect yet, make them so!

1.12.06 laundry room schooling session

Post by funklovesfootbag »

a little under 2 hour schooling session with Emily today.

i didn't hit 20 ss flip clippers. :( I hit 9 and 10 though

I hit ripwalk bsos, clipper>osis>clipper>osis a few times and clipper>far osis.. lots of clipper>osis practice at the end at Emily's suggestion.

I had one really long run, Emily said it was the longest she'd seen but unfortunately no one was counting.. +20 contacts i believe.

hit a bunch of infinities. around 10.. emily thought 13 but im not sure.

drifter once or twice sloppily.

clipper>dlo both sides, first time hitting it flip. but couldnt hit it from toe.
clipper>symp mirage bsos

zulu mirage both sides for the first time.. I think.
toe>up left ear down right ear>mirage ending on opp toe thats zulu right?

we drilled illusions a little bit.. not enough. my flip is shit. same with pdx, and bubba.

my upper back leg/ass started cramping/hurting pretty badly early on but i kept playing, stretched out.. feels stiff but i'll probably play again tomorrow.

1.12.06 aptos sesh

Post by funklovesfootbag »

session with jeremy and emily in aptos. Played for around 3 hours... I was very frustrated at points but I hit some good stuff still.

flip ss clipper X20
symp pixie>symp mirage>opp symp pixie>symp mirage
about 13 or 14 infinities
8 consecutive ducking toes
ps mirage went for flip but missed
hit drifter but ugly... so ugly!
a run of 20 tiltless but 6 or 8 of them were alternating ATW's
some good osis, attempted frigid osis for the first time, and attempted simple swirl for the first time.

soo.... i've been hitting diving stuff, not zulu. hit diving mirage both sides but not BSOS.

hit ripwalk and legbeater but my stepping and atomic is still very inconsistent.. I try not to get discouraged but it's tough.

and finally.. drilled flip illusion a few times at jeremy's request, and whirl a little bit also. came close but no dice.

The day i shredded for 4 hours

Post by funklovesfootbag »

longest session ever tonight.. 4 hours. hit a few things.

ducking butterfly bsos
PDX DLO only strongside
toe DLO both sides twice
clipper>ducking far osis

atomsmasher, ripwalk both sides, blur, legbeater
DATW twice
torque but didnt seal it

really good progress on osis, butterflys, and far osis.

far osis>pdx mirage once or twice, and osis>pdx mirage, and osis>ss butterfly and osis>far butterfly

far osis>far osis>far osis both sides

clipper>ssbutterfly>osis>clipper>ss butterfly>osis

misssssed barrage again! its elusive.

clipper>symp mirage>toe DLO strongside only (gonna hit flip next time.)
tiltless run of 24
guiltless run of 13
10 clean infinities

kept missing this combo at the end of the session cus i was tired and hungry; butterfly>pdx mirage>butterfly>pdx mirage>symp pixie>symp pixie>symp mirage>osis>osis and i think i should add a butterfly or pdx mirage to round it off to 10.

thats all i can remember I think that's all the new/good stuff. im exhausted. gnight.

1.15.06 tennis court sesh

Post by funklovesfootbag »

tennis court session with emily. played for 3.5 hours.

hit 21 tiltless, 13 infinities, 25 alternating clippers, a few ripwalks, stepping far legover, a few atomsmashers, legbeater, tapdown, clipper>ducking butterfly both sides

pixie same clipper, xbody rake
some drilling atw.. not enough osis practice now that i think about it.

dlo>legover>dlo>legover
plo>plo

drilled pixie set like a mofo.. probably around 100 tries strongside, and at least 50 or 60 flip. hit maybe 20 ok sets strongside, around 5 flip, hit dimwalk once or twice and smear once but kind of ugly. also fairy set but probably only 15 or 20 of those.

Edit* also hit eggbeater, forgot about that.

1.17.06 awful session

Post by funklovesfootbag »

Thanks. :D i played awful today my legs hurt really bad and i ended up getting a little bit of osis done.. and jeremy was showing me the motion for double down, which i practiced for about a 50 foot stretch of road on the walk home.. after doing it maybe 5 times on each side i can tell what i was doing wrong and what i need to do.. but it still feels weird.

probably going to take a few days off footbag and just go to jiu jitsu...but do lots of toe taps and double down motions. :(

My mind is shredding too hard for my legs.

too sore to shred; not too sore to dexercise.

practiced whirl, and barfly motions for 30 mins, and did 50 out-to-in and 50 in-to-out dexes on each leg, and stretched out. my camera should get here by friday or saturday.. which gives me enough time to film and submit a sick 1 and sick 3 to the novice competition. off time = nothing but sitting around thinking about footbag.

still injured. still dexercising. 50 datw dexes each leg each way, 20 whirl motions each leg, 10 reverse whirls, 10 barflys each side, 10 paradons each side, 10 double downs each side.

wish i could shred....got some challenges to hit.

sweet.

Post by funklovesfootbag »

2 1/2 hour solo session. The pain im feeling in my legs is just from sore muscles in my calves and shins.. worse in my calves at the moment though. So im gonna have to rest a day after big sessions it looks like.. bummer... until my legs get so buff that i can play everyday.

hit a run of 36, mostly 2's with a few butterflies and pdx mirages in there. crushed my old record of 24. it was fatty. some other runs, 15 and 18 i believe.

hit butterfly>far osis>pdx mirage both sides
clipper>osis>pdx mirage BSOS

diving clipper for the firs time, diving butterfly for the first time, both sides.

left clipper>ducking left osis (not sure how to say that.. clipper>ducking same osis?) almost on the other side.. im pulling it through with my osis instead of turning my support leg. gotta fix that.

butterfly>pdx mirage>opp butterfly>pdx mirage RPT X4 (technically my longest run of 3's but... just a drill.)

drilled clipper>ss butterfly>ss butterfly>ss butterfly

hit whirl on my flipside.. which i fear may be starting to become my strongside

spinning clipper twice on my flipside (yeah.. couldnt hit it "strongside.")

didnt try any stepping or atomic.. dont want to be sore for this weekend.

i invented a new move also.. but its top secret. its completely sick.

and....
.....
....
.................i ate shit for the first time playing footbag. i was doing whirl on my flipside and .. uh.. , basically put both feet in the same place
and went down like a sack of potatoes. luckily i was playing on my friend's carpet. footbag kicks so much ass.

*EDIT forgot, i also tried barfly and paradon for the first time.. i got close to paradon with my left leg dexing, but thats gonna take a lot more than the dexercise i've been doing apparently. haha.

*EDIT AGAIN... also forgot i hit 7 toe flicks, a record. before i could barely hit one with my left toe but i practiced for like 20 minutes and its almost barely decent.
