I should be a pet detective :)

Anywho, since I'm putting off my chemistry homework I'll go into some depth on what I meant by "footbag regime" while stating each song that is playing as I type this (Apocalyptica - Unforgiven).

My plan currently isn't much of a plan but rather just a general outline (Blink 182 - I Miss You) until I have more time to put more thought into it. What it consists of right now is basically dedicating myself more to footbag then what I have been while slowly 'releasing the clutches' of the computer (Covenant - Call the Ships to Port).

This is what I hope to end up doing when I'm healed:

- Get home from school around 4:10 pm
- Eat, watch some vids then be kicking by 4:30 - 4:45
- Call it in around 6:20 then start making supper

- Check modified while food is digesting (if I have no homework)
- Do homework while food digests then kick afterwards
- End at 10:30 (Marco V. - Godd) then do a quick stretch
- Do abdominal, oblique and lumbar exercises while still warm
- Stretch real good
- Hope to be in bed before 11:15

The first session, in most cases, won't be a strenous one so there is no real need to stretch and it is then that I work on the concepts that I'm not strong with but wish to improve a lot upon. The second session, since it is much longer, will continue with what I was doing before - working two concepts that I will be using the most in the near future (Wumpscut - Kill a Raver) *checking, revising, thinking...* (Push - Strange World).

To be even more precise, I'll be working on double dexterity tricks (DATWs, Double Pickups, Double Switchovers, Barrages, etc etc) every session before supper until they prove to be C & C - clean and consistant. Once that is achieved, I may decide to work on single tricks or components - I'll have to see when the time comes (Arch Enemy - Enemy Within).

The second session will be for the concepts and tricks that can already do (Crystal Method - Weapons of Mass Distortion), but want to do more consistantly. These include sets (pixie, stepping, atomic), spinning / spinning ducking, double downs and Whirls, Drifters, DLOs, Eggbeaters (and all their Pdx counterparts), Rev. Swirls, Muted Pixie Clippers to name a few of the tricks.

I don't have much in the way of a home gym so I have to rely on my dumbells for most of it (Dire Straights - Money for Nothing). Here is my exercise sheet that I hope to go by every two days after I kick.

Obliques

3 x 100  Lean to the right, flexing the right ob pausing breifly. Return to standing position and do left side.
3 x 15  Ob/Side Crunches

Lumbar

3 x 25  With straight legs, bend at the waist keeping your back straight then return to a standing position.

(Nightwish - Dead to the World)

Abdominals

3 x 25  Crunches
3 x 20  Leg Raises  Laying on your back and keeping your knees straight, raise your legs to 90 degrees then lower back down (not letting them touch the floor)

(Nightwish - End of All Hope)

That's basically it. With these exercises, I not only hope to be able to grade cheese off my stomach and attract hordes of beautiful women but to maintain a strong posture that will positively affect my game. I'm not sure how it much of it the exercises will affect but over time I'll be sure to notice any differences that should happen (Moody Blues - Dust in the Wind).

So yeah, that took a hell long of a time to write out. I went back a lot in this post, so that's why some songs are really close to each other (I'm not that slow of a typer, honest!). This schedule doomahickey is pretty intense, for sure, and I don't know how long I will go along with it. But one thing is for certain - I'll be kicking more then what I have been once I'm healed.

(Tech Yes - 2B or Not 2B)

PS - Sorry Andrew, it's only that one side. I tried a Whirr or two with my left leg but it feels very akward and I don't want to risk injuring that knee as well :(

Back to bloggin it.

I kicked today. Yeah, I kicked  . I couldn't help it. It lasted for roughly 3 hours (2 - 5ish) and on a positive note - my injuries from earlier this week weren't acting up. They were there as a dull pain whenever I pushed too hard or did something funny so I didn't do anything that would provoke them. I won't kick tomorrow, just to give my legs more rest and afterwards they should be good.

I started out with some DLO, Pdx DLO, Eggbeater and Pdx Eggbeater work. They came quickly, and I was hitting them with a surprisingly high success rate. I want to work them some more, but jumping off the toes to catch the bag (the symple legover) still hurts a bit, so I didn't go crazy and I won't for another few days.

I think my next session I will dedicate to going over the BOPs, as they dropped quite an amount seeings how I never gone over them in a while. Should be fun.

After that, I worked a lot on Drifters. On two occasions I hit 8 in a row, while my record is 9. A bit frustrating but I was really happy knowing that they were turning out so good. I hit Blurry Drifter (not a new trick) second attempt while Vortex I was hitting left right and center. It's all in the set for that trick. Pdx Drifters need some work - I could fix up a few aspects for that trick.

I came really close to Bedwetter - actually, I hit it but wasn't able to seal it. That trick is soo sweet, but oh so hard. I just need to improve on Pdx Eggbeater and it is mine. I really wanted to attempt it on my weakside but I didn't want to over-exert my left calf.

What else went down... oh yes. I hit my first challenge  . It was Jeremy's - Drifter > DLO > Dimwalk > rpt. I think I would have had an easier time if I had gone for it earlier in the session. Not to make excuses or anything - it did make me realize that I need to work on my clipper set DLO (I almost always do them from toe) and pixie sets out of DLO more. With that in mind I went over this drill: Parkwalk > DLO > rpt. It's a very good drill for me, so I'll have to do it more often.

Hmmm... for the last 40 or so minutes I drilled my DATWs. They are coming along sooo well. At the beginning of the week when I first started they were horrid - my success rate on my left leg was probably 10%. By the end of the session I was hitting Terrage > Terrage (on both sides quite a few times), DATW (in) > op toe > rpt > DATW (out) > op toe > rpt, and Double Switchovers. It makes me feel real good knowing how much they are coming along.

Anyways, I would have gone longer if I could but damn. I was running on fumes. I drank 4 bottles of 591 mL of water but at the end I was out of it. I had no energy left in me - I was shaking real bad and had a hard time controlling my legs. I was really off balance whenever I did anything, so I took it as a hint to call it in. I had 2 glasses of strawberry milk and 4 waffles with cheese whiz, then stretched. Now I feel 100% again. I was thinking of having another kick tonight, but that might be bad for my legs.

Go rest!

Another day of rest yesterday, a 3 hour session today then a final resting day tomorrow before I get back to daily shredding. Woop woop!

I spent 2 hours to drill Eggbeaters, DLOs and other variable Legovery tricks of that sort. It went well, I was happy with what I did and hope that my drilling session for those tricks goes by even better. Let's see if I can remember what I hit...

Gyro DLO bsos
DLO (toe and clip set) bsos
Bubbabeater and toe DLO bsos
Pdx DLO bsos
Eggbeater bsos + 1 DLO (dropped the second)
Really close to hitting Pdx Eggbeater bsos... I think...
Twirl bsos
Merkon > Muted Pixie Clip > rpt (oh so stylie :D )

Eggbeater > DLO > drop on Eggbeater (strongside)
Eggbeater > DLO > Eggbeater > drop on DLO (weakside)

Going to up my DLO record next time, because I can do it but haven't pushed myself to try.

Umm.... I came really close to Spinning Pdx DLO. I hit Symp Torque first attempt. What else... I can do the dex's for Revstein but am always too late for the delay. I hit Smog on bs just because I could. I tried for Pigbeater but I felt like I may be straining my calves a *bit* hard with all the pixie sets so I backed off before I could land it. Uh... I think that's about it.

After the 2 hour mark I was tired and not going as hard as I was, so there were a lot of kicking and smaller tricks. I did a bit of DATW work toward the end. They felt good still. I will work them again first thing afterschool on Monday. Should be fun.

Now I'm off to play Dragon Warrior 2 for the SNES and watch The Last Samouri (hopefully tonite). Hell, I might even drink an alcoholic beverage! I'm feeling risky! Haha :D

EDIt - Hoochie mama, I should perhaps think of a sick 3 I can hit in the next few days. Or wait... *checks*... I have until the 24th (basically). I can slack 8)

well, good luck on revstein...i'd also love to hit it!

Hey Verena!

I have not hit Ripstein - to be honest my Swirls are really inconsistant and weak. I find Rev. Swirls to be a lot easier, though it took a lot of patience and force to learn. For Swirls I almost always end up hitting my support leg as I finish the dexterity.

So right now, I think I'm closer to hitting Revstein then Ripstein. Call me weird :D

Haha. My special friends call me Dr. Love 8)

BOPs - Butterflies, Osii & Pdx Mirages

As for your engorgement, it is indeed natural. Why, I would suggest you do more of it Mr. Curious... may I call you Whiskers? My friends used to call me Whiskers, because I was curious like a cat...

If you had to choose to either get mad cow disease or be the top scientist in your field, what would you decide???

=====

Anyways, I kicked. I couldn't do stepping sets with my left leg, or too many right-foot pixie sets so I decided to drill weakside pixie sets and for shits and giggles hit some new 5 > 5 links. I also found out that I could do neutron sets and I ended up hitting Neutron Smasher.

I also had my foot on which will probably be my second 5 > 5 > 5 linkage. It's the famous Blurry Whirl > PS Whirl > Mobius combo. It WAS NOT inspired by Vasek, if that's what you were thinking  .

I wish my leg was completely 110% healed so I could have hit the links both sides, but I was happy with what I did anywho.

Tomahawk > PS Whirl
Spinning Pdx Whirl > Mobius (bs)
PS Whirl > Spinning Pdx Whirl
PS Whirl > Mobius off da foot

And that's about all I can remember. Noteworthy accomplishments - Maelstrom first attempt and a new Magellan record.

Alrighty, I'll make this short and to the point because I am spent.

I had a dream the other night. It was probably the best dream I've had in years. That's right, years. It started out with me finding all these old skool footbag vids in my basement, then slowly transformed to having the World Championships within my very basement then it ended shortly after I was transported way back in time when Butterfly > Sidewalk > Sidewalk > rpt was huuuuuuuuge. Dave Holton was the top dog, but unfortunately I couldn't shred with him - my alarm clock buzzed when I was approaching the circle

Now as for today's deux sessions, the first one I worked DATWs more for about an hour. I also worked on the *basic* combo for Sick 3 (I mean doing the general tricks but toned down ie - If I were to hit Montage > Big Apple > Mind Bender then by basic I mean Spinning Whirl > Spinning Osis > Pdx Whirl sort of dealio). It took me a few attempts, but I hit that basic combo. Then I hit it twice more on the next two attempts.

My evening shred I worked on spinning and spinning ducking. They were rusty but I think I got the flow back. Nothing too worthy came out of it except for Gyro Clip > Mobius on both sideands tieing my Spin Clip record on both sides (which stands at 8).

For the final 45 or so minutes I drilled the BOPs, like said I would a few days ago. I was really happy with the results:

40 contacts of Butterfly > Pdx Mirage
42 contacts of Butterfly > Osis > Osis
46 contacts of Butterfly > Pdx Mirage > Osis
40 contacts of Butterfly > Osis > Pdx Mirage > Butterfly

Another quick little posty.

I didn't shred yesterday, to allow my knees some rest. They were hurting after all the stomping when my legs got tired.

However, for some strange reason my left knee started acting up almost right away as I kicked today. I don't get it. It felt completely fine prior to the session then I do a few clippers and voila. Tomorrow will be another recuperating day I reckon.

I wanted to work stepping and atomic tonight, but I wasn't able to do as much of it as I wanted. Instead I decided to work on Eggbeaters, DLOs and my Sick 3 for the comp. It's completely do able. All I need is my left knee to smarten up and a few new batteries and it's all good.

After that, for shits and giggles, I tried Vortex > Mobius and hit it on second attempt. Blam-o! A few minutes later, I hit it on the other side. I also had Vortex > Gyro DLO unsealed. That felt nifty.

Umm... my DLO record is now 4 while my Eggbeater record sits at 3 (on both sides). I should be able to increase those next time. I felt really dehydrated at the end, which serves me right for not hauling my ass upstairs to get water. Shame on me

EDIT: And I can't forget - Spinning Osis > Pdx Drifter on both sides. I tried it before to no avail, but tonight it just came together.

I haven't been here in a while.

I didn't kick at all during the weekend, except Friday very shortly to kill time. I don't remember anything hit that was worthy of a modified post though.

I just wanted to come on here to share some good news...

I have found someone to kick with!

She lives just down the road from me. Seriously, she lives just down the road, about a 5 min walk from my place. She's just learning how to kick now, but sheesh. She has dedication galore. I started teaching her on Friday during the lunch break at our school and when we called it in her record was 3. It is now Monday and she upped her record to 6! 8O . I showed her some vids after school of freestyle footbag - the way it was ment to be done. She loved it! Then we kicked in my basement. It was my first session since Friday and while she practiced kicking, I was working on pixie sets. I hit Magellan > Smear > Pixie Legover > rpt, and she did her first stalls - on the HEEL!! 8O 8O I gave her lots of props and encouragement. We both had a blast.

Unfortunately, my right knee started acting up (wtf?? Before it was my left calf, then right knee, then left knee, now it's my right knee again) about 40 min into the session so I did tiltless strings choreographed to music as best I could. That was adventerous.

Hopefully my legs will be up for a session tomorrow. Lots of water and warming up. That's what I'll do.

It's all in the hips...

not to rain on your lego parade or any thing, but your .org account is for hosting things related to footbag, not lego, unless you can construct lavers, or a 32 out of lego. or atleast have a photo of your lavers or a 32 next to the lego.

byrin, i chalenge you to make lavers out of lego. and a 32. and then to stick the lego 32 onto the lego lavers. that bag/ block ain't going no where!!!
