Still havnt watched the video but this is just my opinion about your game in general.

I think you really like frigid but i dont think it should be what your game is defined as, i think you need to integrate it into your overall game for style but I just dont think thats what it should be all about. Its like at one point...OKAY WE KNOW YOU ARE GOOD AT FRIGID. im not trying to be mean, im just trying to share my opinion. I love your game though, i think its sweet. what you read above is mearly a suggestion.

Then again i havnt seen your video yet so i may change my mind.

EDIT: watched it, awesome! i love you toe shuffle and i want more. i want atomicss tooo!!!! do itttt. you just seem like yur going to be an overall great player. your style is sweet! so just ignore what i said above.

Dude. You improve fast, that's a fact. What does your normal session look like, like, do you drill lots of the same thing in one session or do you just shred randomly?

Just curious

Anyways great vid, whirl war looks effortless, nice!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. To answer your question Kimbe, my sessions are usually about drills, and schooling certain concepts. The only times i truly shred are when I'm at an event, and when me and Cale make a video. I promise you'll see lots of atomic from me in the coming weeks.

Watch out for your fairies. They look alot like Evan Gatesman's, THE.

I couldn't really tell on your pdx whirls but the first one looked a lil thin. Then again, maybe it's cause of the view.

Stop doing "rev osis." It looks like a completely pulled spin, and looks like crap!

The last vid I watched of yours was when you hit toe blur bs. What happened to your quantums? You should throw those in for a bit more variety.

Played some barefoot in my room today after a lax session at the local park. Hit two new tricks, on video to.

The first two are the, and the last one is a bit questionable.

My pixie and fairy shuffle is becoming more and more consistent, and it makes me happy. I'm also throwing more atomics then i used to, which is cool. Stepping is still super hard. I don't understand that set at all.

Cale gets the pins out of his foot tomorrow. I'll probably see him next weekend, as I'll finally be out of school. It'll be interesting to see his foot without the pins.

I plan to footbag a bunch load over the summer, and It'll be awesome watching Cale's style develop after his foot heals. He'll be playing in Quantums, and he'll be able to curl his toes correctly.

I got two classes for next year at the school next to mine. I'm taking AP European History, and Honors English. The European History class sounds cool, we're learning about the early years of Christianity and what-not. I got a bunch of work to do for both classes over the summer, so I'll have to manage my time well to get everything done. The Honors English teacher told me that if i didn't have all the work done by the time school started again, i would be kicked out of the class.

Well, thats it for now. To those who actually read everything i wrote BRAVO.

Hello, I'm back, and with a nasty head injury. I was at a friends hows during school lunch, and i wanted to try a front flip on his trampoline. Well i tried, and failed miserably. I jumped forward to much, and when i landed my feet slipped out from under me, and my forehead went slamming into the metal framing. I got 7 stitches on my head, and now my left eye is practically swollen shut. Here some pics i took right when i got home after the stitches.

It's not really that bad, but when the stitches weren't in yet, you could see a bit of my skull, so it was a pretty deep gash.

Do you guys think i should keep the scar? Or do what the doctor told me to do to make it heal?

I get the stitches out next week, so i have a bit of time to think about it.

Statement of the day: Trampolines are rather dangerous.

If you want to be a hero make the scar heal.
If you want to be a villain keep the scar.

That's funny, I did the same thing you did (messing up a front flip and landing on the metal railing with your forehead) but didn't get injured at all.

Bad luck. ;) Awesome injuries though, definitely keep the scar.

That's gonna be a pretty big scar in a very noticeable place. I'd lose it.

Woah, why is there so much drama over there. First Cale with his foot, then you with your head :) . Sorry, I shouldn't be laughing at this cause I know how it is. I got a very similar scar from playing football 2 years ago but I only got 6 stitches so you beat me!

Get well soon!

Had a little shred today due to my head feeling better. There was always the lingering worry my stitches would come out or something, but i put it out of my mind. Playing footbag was way more important.

So i hit some cool stuff. osis>pdx whirl felt really good, nice and smooth. Also worked on playing into and out of frigid while keeping it guiltless, here some stuff i hit for that.

 PLO ended in frigid
 Smear ended in frigid
 Mirage ended in Frigid

After that i decided i needed to work my atomics. After what seemed like a couple minutes of failing miserably, i realized i was failing miserably. I found out that i wasn't exploding enough on my flip atomic, so after a little adjusting i was able to nail Atomsmasher b2b. I haven't hit that link for months.

Double Downs are weird, i don't have a solid idea about how to hit them. I'll just try hitting it and be like "Whoa, that sucked..." Then I'll try again and it'll be like "Holy crap that was awesome YEAH!" Then after that i try AGAIN and it'll be like FAIL FAIL FAIL. So yeah, but i did mange to squeeze out a Barfly, and Paradon bsos.

While i was attempting Barfly i had a close call with the God of Ankle Injuries. My foot was cranked in a way that exposed the outside of my shoe to the ground, and as i was going through the final movements of the Barfly, jumping off the ground to catch in clipper, my foot kinda hit the ground with the outside of the shoe. I lost my balance and my weight was distributed to the outside of my foot (Like when i did rooted frigid, but by accident and more in front of me) and i tumbled backwards. Oddly enough my ankle was injured, but my wrists hurt a bit from absorbing the shock from the impact. Anywho, thats my injury story for today.

Saw Get Smart yesterday. Really hilarious movie, there were some parts that were just way to funny. Steve Carell's a great actor, and i can't wait to see what he does next. Anyone here watch the Office?

US Opens coming up, and I'm starting to wonder whether i should compete or not. I've always been a non-competitive person, thats pretty much how i live my life, but i know the competitions in Footbag aren't like other competitions. With trash talking and people shooting other people. But idk. After my unbelievably terrible performance at circle comps during Green Cup, i just don't know if i can bring myself to compete again. I tend to lean towards the "You don't have to compete to be a great footbag player" idea. I'm still thinking about it.

It'll be cool to meet a bunch of people from this forum there, and i will definitely make sure to get some tips for stuff I'm having trouble with.

(Random Tidbit) I just threw a footbag at my cat to stop him from biting himself (Back To Random Tangents)

Going to play with Cale soon. It's amazing how fast his foots healed, i didn't think he would be able to play at least till the Open, but go figure  I've always worried about him quiting the sport, cause he seemed to have really low times with footbag. But i think his amazing stitching and the fact he's getting Quantum 03's, AND his recent foot surgery have really 1uped his motivation.

HALO 3

I have been playing Halo 3 a lot lately. I have periods where I'll be playing video games like crazy, then I'll just be like "Video Games are lame GO FOOTBAG!" and I'll just play footbag for a week straight. But I've recently re-discovered Halo and it's crazy fun. All i play is Live really, and i have been working on playing with something thats called the claw. it's basically where you hold the right trigger and the right bumper with your ring and middle fingers, while your index finger presses the A, B, X, and Y buttons. It makes it so you can aim while your jumping, use equipment and zoom in (If your using the Green Thumb controller layout, like me) If anyone here wants to play just hit up my GT, it's Pypster.

Another cool thing, I'm learning to play the "One Final Battle" Theme from Halo 3 on the piano. It's Epicifying.

Well, thats all for now, if you read the whole thing, i commend you, because not many of you know me in person. I hope to correct that at the Open.

See you guys around.

Eoghan

(EDIT) Oh crap i forgot to do my statement of the day!

I used to try to do the claw. I generally sucked at it. The one time I killed a dude with it, it was one of the best things of that week. and of course, never happened again. That was back when halo 2 was the shizzle. But good luck with it, once you master it, you will be unstoppable!

Thanks for the reply John. Yeah, the claw is pretty hard to use, but I've gotten used to it. Though after a bit of playing the joint where my pinky finger joins the hand starts to hurt. Can anyone here say Carpal Tunnel?

Today was cool. Went and got a hair cut, which i needed. It was cool conversing with the barber, and it was funny how she was grossed out by my stitches :D After the hair cut (Which i got in Supercuts by the way) i went with a buddy over to the YMCA where we waited for my dad to finish his little workout. (He only had like 40 minutes) When we got there i proceeded to do my best to impress the passerby, as i always try to do when i go out in public with footbag gear on. It really strikes me as strange when people see something like that, and don't even look twice. They just continue on their way. Sometimes i just wanna yell at them "YOU KNOW WHAT I'M DOING IS COOL, STOP IGNORING IT!"

I hit something new during this

 Muted Atomic Clipper OR Crispy Grifter

That trick feels really smooth.

After that i got a call from Cale, and we made arrangements to meet at the Medford library. After making arrangements my mom calls me and asks if i want to go out for lunch. Now i love lunch, and i love my mom, so i was like "Heck YEAH!" The cool thing is that she was going to drop me off at the library after lunch, talk about killing two stones with one bird.

We went to this little Thai restaurant in Talent. Now this was a new experience for me, as I've never had Thai food before (No joking here) and i was a bit scared i would be dis-respectful by not eating the food. But boy oh boy was i surprised. The noodles and chicken were amazing! though the iced tea thing, not so much... Cool story about that though, it turned out that the owner of the restaurant knew my mom from a couple years ago when my mom would bring her food. (The owner used to live in a trailer on the side of the highway, i think. And now she owns a restaurant. Go figure) Anywho she let us get drinks and a soup on the house, which was cool. But jeez were those drinks awful. They were some kind of Chai Iced Tea, and it was really bad. I still drank the whole thing, but with the old plugging of the nose trick (Don't tell your parents i told you, but if you plug your nose shut, you can eat all those yucky vegetables and not taste them at all!)

On our way to the library after lunch i got into a conversation with my mom about some pretty interesting things. We talked about the idea that nothing really exists until the human brain creates it in physical form. Like the idea that there are an infinite number of possibilities for what could be behind you when your not actively looking at it. I always like wondering about what it means then when tow people are facing each other, and can see behind each other. I would love to learn more about quantum physics and how reality is perceived.

The session was awesome. I got to play with some more of Cale's bombastic bags. His bags are my favorite, and one of the bags he's selling at the Open looks so awesome! It's the most colorful bag I've ever seen.

It was weird watching Cale play. I haven't played with him in like a month, and he was way way out of practice. But he still managed some good little runs, and some sweet drills to. I like his current attitude towards footbag. he seems to be finally cracking down on all the stuff he skipped when we first started playing. I hope his un-bendable toes don't interfere with his clipper game though. That would really grind my gears!

I had some good runs during this sesh, and i think a reached a breakthrough point for my double downs. They feel way way better then before, and i can finally hit them consistently on my flip! I also hit Barfly again, which was super suade. My step is getting a little better, but it's still nowhere near the rest of my game. All in all there were some good runs, and I'm psyched for my footbag future, i can't wait to play again. I feel like my variety is getting better. You should see some drifters, double downs, spins, ducks, and especially whirls in my next vid.

WHIRLS

Right now i think Whirl is my favorite trick. I look at that trick and think "Woah, thats such a weird looking movement, that pwns n00bs" especially Pdx Whirl (speaking of which i can hit consistently on my flip now, YAY!) It just feels like no other trick, and when i hit it right and deep, there's no better feeling trick around.

(Random Tidbit) My dad just walked into the room and made a funny voice telling me i was ruining everything (He wants me to cook dinner right now for me and my sister, but writing in this blog is way more important. (End of tidbit)

Thats all for now. See you all at the Open!

reality and perception eh? may i recomend to you a movie called Revolver. very very good, quite possibly my favorite movie of all time, you'll never be able to think to yourself again after watching it.

For what it's worth, I'm bringing this back from the second page.

I watched that movie Jack, and it was very good. The scene close to the end where the main guy's in the elevator was awesome. I also watched another movie kind of like Revolver in the sense it was weird and it was about reality and stuff. It's called Vanilla Sky, and i really liked it. It to had an awesome scene towards the end in an elevator

Footbag is still cool. I'm analyzing my form right now, and i can't wait to apply the things i think will correct my game next time i play. I wish i could play today, but sadly I'm a bit under the weather, which is lame because i didn't do anything to make me sick. I was just sitting at my computer watching Vanilla Sky, and my throat just starts hurting. So lame.

My thoughts on footbag:

Ok, recently I've been thinking about how i perceive footbag, and what it means to me. To me footbag is not something to take super seriously. I've seen people get frustrated and angry over it so many times, and it just doesn't seem worth it. I play because it's fun, and because it's so social. I honestly wouldn't have more then like 1 friend if it weren't for footbag. Footbag has changed me for the better, and i thank God for giving it to me.

Sometimes i like to remind myself that what I'm doing, manipulating a small object with my legs and feet, is rather difficult. I mean the majority of people who see footbag think "Thats impossible! How are they doing that?" and i don't think it's a good idea to lose sight of that fact. Even if your just tiltless, your still amazing to the outside world, and i think thats a good mentality to hold. I think when we get better and better, we start forgetting that the basic idea of footbag is pretty out there.

Just my thoughts, g2g, will write more later
