Yeah, I talked to him briefly on an msn audio conversation before my computer crashed the other night.

"Where's Jeremy?"
"He's making food."
"Okay."
"For me."
"Oh, he's really that whipped?"
"Yeah, he does as he's told."

Hey Jeremy. I'm glad you're posting in here again, I always like to read your blog. The video of you and Dylan was really fun to watch. I had to ask my friend what a few moves were (probably partly because you're so frickin fast that I couldn't see) so I even learned from watching your video. :) Oh man, the part where you tried to catch the ball twice and then shoved it in your mouth had me laughing out loud.

Stay positive, stay happy.

Thanks a lot Emily.

I read this quote that was in your signature the other day:

The stupid neither forgive nor forget; the naive forgive and forget; the wise forgive but do not forget.
— Thomas Szasz

and I realised it was true. This has lead me to having just writen a 4,000 word post at the ausfootbag forum at 5 in the morning. Hopefully it will bring closure to the event and we can start building the Australian footbag scene again, instead of tearing it apart.

I'm still pretty pissed off with a lot of people, but I realise that that will achieve nothing and really I'm the only person I can rely on to make the steps neccessary to solve the issue - at least for the future of Australian footbag. I fear that my relationships with a number of people have been permenantly damaged - which is a shame because there was nobody I felt any great animosity towards before the events.

Anyway I feel really good about having finally made some positive steps and I hope that other people see it that way and we can move forward. Obviously I can't control what other people do or how they react.

Thanks a lot again Emily for your support and for your love of quotes - because I found that one truely inspiring. (As in it inspired me to go try and be wise instead of stupid).

My heart feels so much lighter.

Don't encourage him :x

Today I had a really cool session with some guys for our first Hobart Footbag Club regular kick. The scene here is so cool - I can't believe I've been dissing it. We had a circle of 7 people - apart from myself none of which were at the session at Hobart Uni on Thursday. That means that we have at least 12 people interested in freestyle. Actually I know it's a couple more than that. Of course they are all very new and inexperienced - but we easily have the biggest scene in Australia - I don't think anywhere else could manage a to get a circle of 7. One guy got really close to heel set spinning heel. I tried to skool them a bit too and saw some improvement. I also drilled my fairy sets and drifters climaxing in fume bsos - which until today I had never hit (the move fume I mean - on either side)

Horray for footbag!

Cheers Jamie - good to hear you have a potential too!

This will be a quick blog report of today's session. I just drilled hard. This is my first drilling session in some time and the only time I've played since Saturday so I wanted to work on some easy stuff that I could for a long time. It never hurts to go back to basics.

Drills:

ss clipper>pickup>pickup repeat - 10 full reps 60 contacts
ss clipper>ss legover>legover repeat - 10 full reps 60 contacts
no plant ss butterfly>mirage repeat - 10 full reps 40 contacts
no plant ss butterfly>bubba reapeat - 10 full reps 40 contacts

100 contact tiltless runs (there were the odd threes and fours)

drifter>ss clipper repeat - 5 full reps 20 contacts (actually I did more but I stopped counting after achieving 5)

the following drills I didn't count contacts but did at least 2 full reps

pdx mirage>toe whirl>whirl repeat
clip far legover>double over down repeat
blur>toe whirl repeat
ripwalk>ripwalk>pdx whirl repeat

Finished up with some guiltless runs (but no pixie or atomic sets) mainly easy moves but the highlights of which were:

stepping and blurry pickup bsos

stepping and blurry whirl bsos

Finally I drilled some ducking clippers and finished with about 40 alternating clippers - well it felt like 40 - I really don't know :P

I forgot to mention that the significance of the blurry and stepping pickup run was that it's entirely possible I've never hit stepping ss pickup either side before - I really can't remember ever hitting it so that was cool.

Today after shredding and posting here I went to the supermarket to get some food and saw DAVID BOON!!! He's like the greatest person ever. He used to play cricket for Australia - famous for fielding about 1 meter away from the batter and was also a really good batter. He also once drunk 52 beers on a plane trip to England!! - Respect!

He bought a 2 litre bottle of Betta full cream milk and was wearing a Cascade Brewary jacket. :D I stalked him around the supermarket for a few minutes :D :D  Although apparantly my housemates have seen him lots of times and lives about 50 meters away from the house 8O

Anyway I'm pretty stoked about seeing him. Next time I see him I'll tell him what a legend he is :D :P

Hahaha thats awesome Jeremy!

David Boon has got to be an Australian legend, if only for drinking so much beer. 52 is such a superhuman effort!

Once upon a time in a strange and fictitious land there lived a moose. This was no usual moose because his name was Rupert and he could speak. In fact all the moose in the kingdom of Splaterfat could speak. So really it wasn't really unusual at all. But if Rupert was a real moose - he would definitely be unusual. Rupert was unusual though - and had lots of trouble picking up girls. This is because not many girls are keen to date a moose and Rupert would have a much better chance of scoring if he tried to pick up moose cows instead. This is why Rupert was weird.

One day while gallivanting across a field of buttercups Rupert came across a crow picking at a human carcass.

“That looks tasty,” said Rupert.
“Oh it is,” said the crow. “The eyeballs are the best bit, would you like to try one?” Rupert thought about this for a moment before saying;
“I’d love to, but I’m a vegetarian and I don’t think I have the stomach for meat – even eyeballs.”
“Oh well,” said the crow. “Each to their own I suppose. My name is Edward by the way.”
“Nice to meet you Edward,” Said Rupert. “My name is Rupert.”

There was a brief silence while they acknowledged each other. Rupert had never met a crow before and he was feeling a little nervous about talking to one for the first time. His mother had told him never to speak to crows as they were bad and would try and feed him mushrooms or get him into trouble. However Rupert’s mother had been dead for sometime now and Rupert had began to find that much of what she told him was bullshit. Rupert didn’t know what was bad about mushrooms either. People said they could kill you if you ate the wrong ones, but Rupert had never heard about this happening and he couldn’t understand what people said anyway since he was a moose – so their comments didn’t worry him in the slightest. The silence was becoming uncomfortable and Rupert was quite spontaneous which is why his next comment came out a bit strange.

“I am a big hippo,” he said.
“No you’re not,” said the crow. “You’re a moose.”
“Oh,” said Rupert. It didn’t seem like there was anything he could say.
“Why would you tell me you are a hippo? It’s obvious that you aren’t a hippo,” said the crow – which was becoming agitated.
“I’m sorry,” said Rupert, who wasn’t. “I didn’t mean to insult you.”
“Yeah?” Said the crow. “Well we all say things we don’t mean. It doesn’t mean you have to say them.”
“Er, pardon?” Said Rupert, becoming confused.
“I said; when plates are green, it means it’s time to give them a clean,” said the crow.
“Oh,” said Rupert. “That’s not what I thought you said…”
“Well perhaps you shouldn’t think so much,” said the crow.

Rupert was getting quite fed up with the conversation and dealt with it in the only way he knew how…

He had just finished eating the crow when it began to rain. It’s an interesting question to wonder what a moose does when it rains, but the answer is more obvious than it seems. The whole day was beginning to turn out pretty badly and Rupert was getting quite grumpy. It was at that moment that Rupert tripped over an elephant and broke his neck, which just goes to show.

wow, that was pretty deep, er... well, it was odd anyways. :o I like how it's set up sorta like a children's story and then you say "much of what she told him was bullshit". Hyucks, that caught me offguard.

yes the story is really an analogy for US foreign policy and how it's set by Christian fundamentalists. I'm sure that's pretty obvious since that's all I ever post about.

yeah thanks Ken ;)

I had a session today - although lack of sleep definitly had an effect. I was filming but didn't hit anything really worth making a vid for - two nice combos but that was about it.

fairy ss dlo>smoke and dominatrix>predator - which I've hit lots of times before but wanted to get on tape. I really can't be bothered looking through an hour of footage to find 2 short runs.

Oh I hit pixie symp tapping symp whirl as well - but it was "the" by about 30 cm 8O funny though. I had a funny reaction too - I was pretty pumped. I should have realised it was "the" actually I kind of did but I hoped it wasn't. Anyway it's a really fast move so it was hard to tell when I hit it. Having seen it on tape, I'm pretty sure I can hit it cleanly.

Will have a real kick tomorrow. Will also get some sleep tonight too!

edit: oh yeah, I hit smog with a kiwi fruit too.

Very "Hitchhiker's Guide" ish. Exspecially the names Rupert and Splaterfat (Slartlebartfast). Influenced maybe???

Who knows what influences a sleep deprived crazy man. I'm a bit of a Douglas Adams fan so it's possible. Long time since I've read his books though. Also I've been writing silly random stories like that my whole life, so I think it's just my style. Here is my new profile at www.ausfootbag.org.

Jeremy O'Wheel has been playing footbag since September 2001 and is still not dead. He is involved with the IFPA and is a forum moderator at www.modified.ca where he incites as many flame wars as he can, then bans the people involved.

He has had a long lust for power and aspires to one day rule the world with fear and suffering in a corrupt dictatorship.

If he could have any wish it would be to locked in a jail made of chocolate and be forced to eat his way out.

Jeremy is also a big fan of music, politcal activism and philosophy. He believes the world would be a better place if run by Ewoks and suspects that in reality JFK shot himself.

He enjoys strange references to pop culture that he suspects nobody understands and in grade 1 won a UN Peace prize, presented by his fellow classmates at lunchtime.

He hopes that after you read this, you are inspired to go outside and video yourself making love to an animal - then send the video to Jeremy and he will pay you for it.

Had a fun kick today. Taught James - a new guy atw! Also his toe stalls are getting really solid - he looks like he's got some talent! Didn't really do much else. I'm slowly learning the new peoples names. Going to learn to do fire staff things - there are regular sessions every tuesday night! Fun fun fun.

Also managed to arrange a demo/workshop for a local primary school - so that should be awesome! It's in like 4 weeks but I'm looking forward to it.

My brother is a dick and I think I need to get him banned.
