Quantum Conquest

Yesterday i was shredding in one of our schools gyms again, and against
all exspectations, this session had mile stone qualities ( of amature nature,
natürlich ) - i have a flip quantum set now, completly out of the blue and
soon i will be able to live up to my motto, saying that i want my quantum
to be my second atomic .

I waded thru my chaotic warm up procedures, and it was either that
little flu that has been creeping up on me for days or the fact that i was
shredding with new lavers ( instead of well broken in g's ) -
but nothing seemed to work. My beloved dlos were truly horrible,
same with drifters, so i skooled swirls for a bit and maby it ways fates
way to motivate a nigga and i hit butterfly swirl !

Relief - tha day wasnt lost yet and i worked on toe combos and spins for
a bit, then i was like, hey what bout that flip quantum of yours ?
That bitch is still on my list, un-checked and un-challenged ?
( i'm like that paranoid kid in school, whose nose is constantly
running unattractively , that keeps a secret list of his enemies...).
Drop bag on foo>t op in [dex]>handcatch - dem sets were high and
tight - i was so surprised how good my flip quantum had suddenly
become, and i couldnt do much, but to handcatch it for a bit...

Tripwalk was easy, and after hitting it trice, i went for the quantum move,
that i'm mostly interested in - toe blur - and i killed it :D - so far,
i had hit quantum mir maby twice on my flip side, and yesterday i hit it
at least 30 times in one bloddy sesh !

Highlights :

smear>tap>smear>tap (flip)

smear>tap>smear>tap>smear>tap ( strong )

ducking mirage>tap>butter>pdx mir>ducking mir>tap>butter>pdx mir

butterfly swirl - thanks for these great tips Bjoern,
keep your head up, skool dat patience set bs to
come back strong in spring - it should be worth the wait !

TOE BLUR bsos

@Ian, i miss you too bro - just find a flat in Berlin, will ya ? PM !!!

Thanks for these nice messages, guys - believe me they are comming
in the right moment, since i'ma little down, stricken with footbag fernweh and ready for a bed .

I should be in Vienna right now, drunk and a little sore from all the
shredmania , catching up with all these wonderful people, that i havent
seen in a long time - but i'm here, at my desk, struggling with chemistry.

It would be:D to be in a kool city with the Hunters ( both of them :),
i want an agressive g unit circle wih Max and Alex, fairy help from Verena,
a hug from Hania and some Vodka with Ales  , but i simply cant go !

So its extra fly to have you as a special guest here in Munich on monday -
its one of the most interesting things to play with people, that you dont
play with often ; its like, you know just enough about somebodys
game to always be curious about his/her evolution .

What also makes me happy, was a PM form Charles - i have worked
for the cia and i know that you basically should make any kind of
personal messages public, but in this case, i make a deliberate
exception, because the news are so good :
Charles is shredding again ( hopefully painfree ) and hit ps whirl bs,
twirl, rev swirling pick up and one of my favorite moves (and long term
goal of mine) : whirlygig !
Props mec, c'est lourd !

Thanks Hen ! Our little conversation was enuff to motivate my ass to
go out to the indoor swimming pool ( Olympiabad) for a session ;
i just gotta finish my chemistry stuff, bolt a steak and then i'm ready
to lose myself in the inexhaustible depths of shredmania  !

Allright.

Todays session was great in many ways - lots of surprizes and some
nice nu shit . I warmed up with tiltless runs, trying to incorporate
2 adds i practically never use(d) vs making these runs as long as possible.

Two positives, one negative = psychology - i really have to stop smoking,
at least on normal days, there is nothing good to it, if youre not drinking
at the same time, and the first 20 min of shred where really anstrengend .

When i continued with bops and dexless, my strength came back and
these butterflies are getting nicer and nicer - its just a matter of
concentration - getting more than 10 is a mere formality,
as my man Ian would say :) .
I wasnt motivated to work on guiltless drills of any kind, i spent my time
improving the linking of fours, and everytime i became tired, it was
time for more dexless and osis>osis.

Everything felt really good today, i went for some runs( which is fairly
uncommon for pseudo solo shredders like myself ) and i tried a lot
of stoopid stuff aswell, but it was the combos that really made me smile .

9 ducking clipper ( twice )

dimwalk>ripwalk bs

atomsmasher>legbeater
- on the side i havent hit it yet - yay

butter>ripwalk>dlo - wow, that felt really good :D

ducking pdx mirage>dimwalk bs - for you, Silwan Daouk !

ducking butter>ducking butter - satisfaction all the way .

legbeater>blur - on my lesbian side ; rubberman, watch out !!!
that felt so powerful and surprizing, its hard to tell...
legbeater>step legover on my usually stronger side

Some moves that i've hit before, but there hard enuff for me to mention
them everytime i hit them : pixie tap, pdx drifter, some torques..

I was so glad about my ducking clipper and ripwalk improvement ;
i know those arent hard or crazy by any means, but it feels good to
gain some control over them for sure :D
Linking fours is so fun - this session was so fun !
When i came out of the shower, partly happy, partly pissed that i couldnt
nail dim>blur rpt and missing leg>blur on my supposedly stronger side,
it came to me, that i also didnt hit any new things that sesh.
In briefs, i put on my g's and hit a new five add :

symposium tapping symposium mirage :D :D :D

thats it.

Relief ---- most of my science tests are done and dealt with,
there is only one left ( maths ) and i have enough time to
work for that, + i learned a lot about how not to prepare .
Although i have a still a good feeling, that i've passed them all,
it gripes me that i had to cancel Vienna for it :( !

To get rid of all the unessesary adrenaline, i had a quick, chaotic
session in the school gym and i realized how bad my symposium
mirage as such can be.
I really gotta work on that - i want to be able to hit it in/out of
every move ending in toe, and i want to make it look better (=effortless ).
Nonetheless, i hit symp mir>plo>symp mir>plo>run, which was
enuff to stop me from acting childish  ...

The last two hours at school wre slow and boring enuff to both,
pay attention and write a new and improved training plan for
todays monstershred in the gym - it will be tres kool :
The Hunters will be back with stories from Vienna, Bjoern the Brave
is also turning up, he might film the action 4 a bit and Markus,
my much missed tournament compadre is finally making it back
to the mothership

Reunion Shred Results

- the whole session write up is in our crews blog this time -

32 tiltless ; 16 bop

8 contacts of smear>plo rpt

a 14+ guiltless contact run

ripwalk>dlo flip

toe blur>butter>run bs

ripwalk>stepping far legover bs

ripwalk>stepping osis

ripwalk>ripwalk from bs

symp mirage>tap>butter>pdx mir>rpt >run

smear>legbeater bs

spinning clipper>ripwalk both sides

starting some runs with atom>atomic legover, or toe blur>butter,
dim>p mir rpt or legbeater>p mir felt real good.
Another thing, its nice to hit ripwalks, if you have a reason to . :D

Shredding with Bea is so fun :D

We just sessioned in da cave for a bit - i had to escape the hell of
starting my math studies too late - and now i'm all good and can even
return happy hearted after rambling for a bit  !

Warm up is not a problem any more, the new formula is kicking+ tiltless
+ bop,. We skooled drifters (both sets ) for a bit, and i was very happy,
when i found out that i can seal my drifters with some guiltless shit
finally.
Sticking to the new truth, we started with runs fairly early.
Everytime somebody was struggling with whatever element,
we worked on that for a bit, just to intergrate this particular
bit into the next runs - very relaxed, but still efficient = fun :D !

I had some long strings today and they were all different in structure
and composition, one was with 2, 3 and 4 add moves and an
overall of 19 cons, another one with a lot of pixie, atomic and
bops was 16 cons with only one guilt ( mirage ), for example .

Sometimes it felt like i could go on forever .

Max is so right that footbag is about fat strings, first and foremost -
and i'm very happy that all the drilling paid off - i can see it in many
things, but the best is probably the vanishing of my flipside problems
and all the positive, obvious side effects comming with a bothsided game.

Freedom.

ripwalk bsos once again ; almost 3 rips in a row...

drifter>pdx mirage>smear>run

butter>sidewalk>pdx mirage>butter>sidewalk

smear>atomsmasher bsos
8)

I need to work on my double dexes, my stepping and my spins -
i dont got too much of that in my runs .

I'm so shattered...the last weeks of studying hardcore, shredding a lot,
working impossible shifts, slepping weirdly and getting stoned
( worst timing for a restart lol ) definitly took their toll...

But what can you do - there's footbag . and i hear it calling me . alot .
when i crept up to the Olympiahalle, i felt like a ringwraith with a
bad sunburn, my legs were all shit from working too much, and
my imagination almost failled me, but the master called,
and i had to go there .

Ii tried to get in the mood with some low form of prayer  :
"Think about double dexes and leave big windows for surprizing
unexpectedly exciting stuff...keep a good attitudue",... and so on.

The man at the counter gave me half of my money back, for it
was already that late - kool - usually i get into a lot of shit, when i'm late.

The session...well it was hard, full of ups and downs, aching bones
and dizzyness from too many alternating xbd rakes, but i had some
good fun in there .
For warming up i toetally prefer long tiltless runs of clipper drills
at the moment - and i'l get my share of clipper straight after
anyway, with all the bop and dexless that i've learned to love so well.

I was eperimentating a lot, went for runs or more osii, hit a nice flip datw,
answered all the questions from all passser byers, and had a general
non heroic feel about the whole thing...moodswings...exhaustion >
toe ingyro mirage>hope rpt.

i needed a goal to go for, i wanted to learn something that i could use
a lot - so i began to drill stepping, especially shmoe - a move which
dex my left foot dont like doing...
I dont have a good datw or magellan on my left foot, so sometimes
i dont plant when i do shmoe, ss smear or even a right foot set tap .
And this driving me nuts :x !!! Non planting is mega stylee, dont get
me wrong, but only when its deliberate aka some sort of variation .

After struggling a lot, i found out that i have to plant my setting foot
much quicker/earlier, and the different stages within the steps need
more clarity.

osis>ss clip>ss clip rpt x 4

xbd rake x4 each side ; xbdy rake>xbd ss rake>xbd rake

ripwalk>drifter

toe ingyro mirage

butter>shmoe>butter>shmoe>ducking clipper>blur>butter>clipper>blur

whirl>pdx mirage>smear
>butter>buter

This session i finally hit some indesputably clean, nice looking whirls .

Before, i only tried them from my better clipper to have a higher
chance for a decent set - and a worked hard on a lower, controlled
setting method. All that training was great for swirls, dlos and
driter, but still only 2-3 whirls wereacceptable on that side,
Mostly i just lift up my leg like a pissing dog instead of
doing any dexing, and to day i found the root of all evil :
timing .
On my flipside, i dont have the skill yet to do the whirl
fully downtime - i gotta start the dex early and in order to
do so, i gotta do a fast feet switch * a magic switch * !!!

I was so happy when i found all this out - i mean, i've never
even tried whirls on that side and suddenly i didnt only understand
my whirl problem, i was able to hit and understand whirl :D .

Whirls rule and i dont know where my flipside is anymore,
it seems to be different for every trick .

XMAS SHRED

I must have been a good boy, since i got rewarded with these hella nice, unexpected presents :

whirl bsos

pixie ss clip>whirl>pdx mir run

ducking clipper>whirl

whirl>ripwalk

atomic pick up bs

Today i managed to transform my lates whirl insights onto my flip side,
and whirl bsos is a nice feeling of welcome :), and i think i deserve that
On my stronger sight, i really had a fun time with the dex itself and
i thought it was the perfect day to try blazing mirage - to make a
long story short, i couldnt hit it, but i could clear the dexes a couple
of times...so if mirage was a little too hard, what about an osis ?
They're simple enough, they're beautiful, i can do these .
So i gave it a shot, nice set>sharp dex>spot>turn>OSIS =

I HIT FUCKING BLENDER, a nice, christmassy, well behaved and
drug free whirling osis :D !!!

And i hit that 3 more times, so there  !!!

My whirls are only possible because of the advice of two of germany's
finest : Beatrice Jaeger , who told me about the importance of a quick
feet switch and Stefan Siegert, who advised me to just pratice the dex
for a bit, without worrying about the clipper !

ANd the Blender is for Max and Charles - different reasons, though

Toe ingyro ...- never tried such concepts - but will today I think
and props for the clipper >osis stuff I like this drill too - it is a cool rythm , isn't it?

Oh an d props for hitting blender after such a short time you hit your first clean whirls. I do not know why you progress at such a fast level but you must make something very very in the right way dude - props for that and keep going !

Today i played way too agressivly, kind of demanding.
Hard as nails, i tell ya, and moody .

But there was good stuff too - i finally got to work on some important,
but unfairly neglegted stuff - symposium mirage and especially stepping .

That felt good, i'm tired with the way i link stuff in most guiltless runs
i need more variety...i want to get better and play real freestyle .
I dont have too many doubts about becoming more bothsided,
in my head its all about being solid .

Everything seems to depend on that :
if my moves/links are solid, i am relaxed.
Solidity and the resulting feeling of relaxation provide the ideal context
to access the whole repertoire, be it big or small > more variety .
Another thing comes to mind - if i dont have to worry about the difficulty
of a move/combo, i can spend my time to make it look nice .
I also appreciate the pace of moves i got locked down more than
those i have to fight for, naturally . Max is quite helpful on that matter :)
Being solid depends on experience and on a as-deep-as-possible
understanding of that experience, which means buttloads of work.
And i like to work, i like to dig in, to experiment, to try again and again -
i like to go crazy .

People like Serge Kaldany, or Vasek, if u will, are truly impressive -
not only for their great skill ( of combining all kindsa aspects that
make a good game ), but mostly for consalidating their game in
such a short time . And i also admire Jorden for keeping up with that
huge variety of his - i wonder, if he just masters concepts quickly,
only to move on to the next, or if he is practising everything at once...
its probably the first, but sometimes, he makes me wonder...

Stuff :

Best Combo :

dimwalk>pdx mirage>dim>p mir>butterfly>p mir >smear>ducking mir> ducking clipper>duck clip>spin drop

Drills :

16 contacs of symposium mirage>legover rpt

18 contacts of symp mir>butter>p mir rpt

butter>stepping legover>butter>blur rpt

butter>blur>smear rpt

smear>tap>butter>p mir rpt

Random Stuff :

pixie clipper>ripwalk bs

ripwalk>blur>butter>p mir>smear>d mir

atomsmasher>butter>p mir>smear>plo>butter>p mir>dimwalk>p mir>
plo>mirage>ducking mirage>butter>xbd rake>xdb rake

good bop runs and tons of flip datws, since i was trying to hit a
challenge Bjoern gave me : datw>butt>p mir rpt .

whirls are still there. dlo and drifter suck . swirls, spins and quantum
need more practice. so does everything else .

Thanks Jay, for good vibes and that super nice bag that you've put
me up with !
