Good session.

ok so bad news i havent made an entry in awhile..

mr. fletcher funk has joined us back down in the south bay where he belongs, and weve had several large sessions joined by mark and chris too.

todays session included big add chad! dave, fletch, brett, sanne and i all played on the beach for a few hours, there were many interesting sights and a couple crazy ass people.

well to make a long story short, chad shreds ridiculously. oh yeah also i hit a new infinity record today, i hit butterfly>infinity>4x... is that right?? basically i hit 5 consecutive butterflies. whatever.

i also hit toe drifter and whirl in a string, bsos is still on hold on line 1.

i made a new bag this week, a 6 colored beaut right here:

there are better pics on the (bags ive made) thread.

ok more later.

ok so fat session yesterday at venice:
jason crook, rich abshire, jeremy mirken, fletcher funk, dave morawski, brett dierker, and myself...

good times were had by all, rich showed me where all the magic goes down in his "workshop", his little desk is completely organized with no mess anywhere, i couldnt believe he pushes 100 bag orders in that room without upsetting anything. also got to see his graveyard of bags of old, ranging way back to his baseball sized 20 something gram 32 panel to some of his new minis that had already had to be retired from testing filler ratios

anyway i had a pretty shitty session with everyone, seems most people were shredding pretty hard though, it wasnt until after everyone said their goodbyes around 4 oclock that fletch and I broke away to go smoke some bowls, as he and dave and brett were going to make the 2 hour (or 3 in their case) drive back to LA. so we smoked liek 3 bowls and parked next to bretts car to wait for he and dave, who had gotten food. i smoked a cigarette while fletch taught me osis and wouldnt you know it, stepping set. i hit blur both sides for the first time!

anyway good times were had by all, it was a fun day

left stepping set is pretty damned consistent to my utter joy and surprise, my right kinda sucks for some unknown reason (i gotta kick that knee out not up (thanks fletch))

but i hit blur again both sides, threw it in a run or two... also hit blurry legover, blurry pickup (which i should turn into blurry DLO somewhere down the road (thanks to rich's advice to fletch)) and blurry butterfly.. which i tried to turn into ripwalk but to no avail... give me another session or two and ill hit ripwalk from both sides... oh yeah i hit sidewalk too (assuming sidewalk is blurry same side butterfly.

the cool thing is.. after drilling stepping sets i tried some strong side pixies and tehy were clean as hell, however my weakside still sucks.

best run: something with butterfly>far legover BSOS, blur, and blurry butterfly>far legover... if i remember correctly it was something like butterfly>far legover (right)> legover (left) > butterfly> far legover (left)> butterfly>blurry mirage (blur)> legover (left)> butterfly> blurry butterfly> far legover> catch

it was tight, craig said he was amazed even though he had no clue what i was doing, which was good because i always wondered at what point i could actually impress someone instead of looking like a dancing idiot. anyway i still need that consistency to really please the crowd (myself)

still need to drill consistency...

drilled pixies hard today, came out victorious, pixie>pixie record at 5 starting with my right foot

best run:

left foot set> butterfly> far legover (left)>dimwalk>ripwalk> far legover (right)> attempt at dimwalk failed SO close though

on top of that i hit 7 consecutive butterflies, or butterfly>infinity (6x)

also got some (if not most) of that on film, of course my best run i didnt film, but it made me go get the camera :)

hit atom smasher, legbeater, and tapdown.

my pixie sets are much more consistent

ive been throwing dimwalk bsos in most of my sets which feels good, usually to infinity and im testing out different combos that dont kill me.

today im going to drill long sets

well see how it turns out.

finally got my clippers down pretty tight on both sides, also osis is coming a lot more naturally for me, its an EXCELLENT one to throw into strings, as well as sidewalk and parkwalk which have both been flowin pretty well too. i hit ripwalk 3x in a row so far, pdx mirage both sides is pretty solid too, i just need to put a lot of variation and long strings together. spring break sesh coming soon!

thursday ben comes home, and we're shredding with taylor and hopefully brett sanne and dave too!

shred today with rich for a few hours, and jason for a few minutes.

hit ripwalk 3x and footed the 4th TWICE godddamnit, the bag flew behind me somewhere.

i threw lots of osis in my runs today, i practiced buttefly>infin>infin> pdx mirage> dimwalk> ripwlak >ripwalk> osis mirage> dimwalk>ripwalk>ripwalk

i managed to hit it about 2 times with jason... he was telling me not to practice other shit and instead just get taht string down, and that it would end up helping me when i could vary it and link longer strings.

other than that i hit atom smasher and fairy osis a couple times too.

i like magellans, sidewalks, and parkwalks. they look styly.

oh also footed butterfly swirl quite a few times, i cant set it up though, it sets out when i manage to delay it. ... i think thats what its called at least

its like this, from right toe:

toe >op out [dex]> op in [dex]> same clip [del] [xbd]

i think. anyway its tight.

overall the sesh was good because i threw lots of new strings i hadnt hit before, many of them without falling back to a 2add.

OH YEAH and pdx drifter is mine! strongside... that is.

ok so its been awhile...

truth is ive been taking an ever so slight break from footbag, mostly because i was just so busy with everything else going on (and really lazy)

but today i had an excellent grand reopening, which consisted of 2 sessions, one 1.5 hr sesh before i hit the gym and then another 1.5 hour sesh in the nice rubbery multipurpose room at the gym (where they were having some 20 girls ride those stationary bikes in unison). i got some really awesome strange looks, and im proud to say at least some people saw me and stopped to watch for a sec! hah

anyway theres not much to report although i drilled some ducking and butterflies, as well as ripwalks and osis>ripwalk. stepping out of osis is difficult, i think i need to slow everything down and position my set before i start to step.

i hit dimwalk>blur>smear>dimwalk>ripwalk>ripwalk>ripwalk which is my longest tripless string i think, but whos counting ;) (right dave?)

otherwise i practiced osis>butterfly, osis>pdx mirage, and osis>osis

did some ducking, finally hit fairy ducking butterfly, whatever that is, i also hit pixie ducking osis finally. fairy sets definately rock as much as pixies, i want them both strong both sides :)

my atomic blows, my stepping is pretty good, although needs work

7x ripwalk bitch!

my mirken bag has about 3 huge ass holes that i didnt notice till the realization rather stressfully ended my session at the gym. i still need to assess the blood loss and severity of the lacerations, to be honest the situation looks grim for my valiant grombag, its quickly surpassing the 'choice' stage and entering into the 'delicate' stage. its got some good sessions left in it... i hope :(.

anyway i want to shred with rich, havent in a few weeks because ive been back home, and roadtrippin to AZ. still need to make that trade!

peace out everyone- bag #8 is on its way, and looking REALLY sweet IMHO. i think ive finally found a pattern to stitch consistently.

shred today with rich, worked on what i need to work on this week :)

--lots of osis> (pdx mirage/butterfly)
--osis>stepping (finally got it a little)
--TILTLESS BABY! love those illusions, mirages, ATWs
--not fairying by fucking my knee 7 ways to sunday and producing loud popping noises that hurt but feel good at the same time.
and
i like this one:
--mirage>illusion>smear>smudge both sides

some more random shit i hit, and now need to nail consecutively in some way or another:

fairy illusion, fairy mirage, fairy butterfly, fairy osis, fairy same osis,
