Ipod or Creative Zen?

included headphones for any mp3 player suck. if you want some good ones get shure e2c's (theres also e3c, e4c, and e5c which progressively get more expensive)

and i don't see how people complain about the menus for the creative zvm saying that they're bad, but then glorify ipod, their interfaces are almost identical (creative planned it first), and creative definitely wins the video part over ipod having better codec support and way more colors in the screen creative has 260,000 something and ipod has 60,000 something

the only things ipod has over the creative zvm are more accessories, ability to view album art bigger, some games that no one plays unless they're really bored, and thinness - but i like the size of the creative, the ipod is too thin and i feel like i could snap it in my fingers

i ended up stomping and sitting on my nano with excessive force. (a screw in my pocket bearing all my weight, on the screen)

it ended up cracking the video screen, and now only half works.

Luckily my ZVM is too big to fit in my pocket... lmao, jk, not really.

ive only had my ZVM for 4 days, and havent used it to its full potential(i dont even know what im talking about).

The video quality is beautiful but the video needs to be 320x240 or it wont transfer. I only have a little over 4gb used up, so i need to find a lot more music and put full seasons of shows on it to fill it up.

Im really pleased with it so far but that cradle shit is real annoying, its this thing you connect to your ZVM before you do anything. You have to connect the cradle then the charger, same with usb, and vid/audio output.

yah, the fact that you gotta connect that attachment piece before you can connect the usb cord is annoying, but you can buy a usb cord that attaches without the extra hook up from creative's site

I did not read the topic so sorry if that was mentioned, but if I were you I would definately buy Iaudio, it is much more durable than these two, it plays for more hours and it is mass storage. They say about the zen that it is also mass storage, but you still have to use some stupid program to put the files to it.

Software's free for iPod... You have to pay for the software after buying the hardware for the ZVM? That's... dumb.

I gotta ask... do you actually care about your Nano, and you just happened to leave it in your pocket with a screw on accident, or do you just take everything you get for granted? I don't know, your post just sounded like you don't appreciate what you have... I could be entirely wrong of course, that's just what first popped into my head when reading about your nano...

I just had to ask, because I'm, sickeningly over protective of my electronic gadgets. Neither one of my iPods or my Zune has a single scratch on their surface. I immedially get screen covers, and a metal case for my mp3 players, usually the case has velvet (Am I naming the right material, it's really really short fuzzy meterial...) on the entire inside. I'm still trying to find something to make fingerprints not show up so badly on my black Nintendo DS Lite. But yeah, it's like a disease for me... My crap has to be, clean, undamaged, and well protected... It's almost perverted.

But the screen seems a bit small for watching videos cuz its only 1.8" and ipod and zen r 2.5"

That is true, but that is probably the only thing those two are better in, but in the rest of the things Iaudio is much better. And mass storage function is the most important....it saves so much time.

What do you mean lose software? Why would you lose the CD? With the ZVM, you don't need to use the software that comes with it, it doesn't even have to be on the computer. I just use Windows Media Player. It syncs all my files everytime I connect it. Works for me!

You can probably download the program from www.creative.com, but I'm not sure on that. I don't like that ipod doesn't include a disc with iTunes on it. I work at Staples and I have SOO many people bring their Ipods back saying the software is missing, that and people phoning in that say they can't get it to work because they don't have iTunes. It's stupid if you ask me. I think everything you need should be in the box.

i got my zvm for christmas and it is even better than i thought. i am impressed by the sound and video quality, i put monty python and the holy grail on it, and it only took up one gig. i watched the whole thing, and less than a quarter of the battery was gone. ive been able to put on almost any video i have found. the player is great, and i suggest it to anyone in need of a player

It used to come with iTunes on it, but not anymore. And there's a good reason for that. Because if you don't have internet by now, you should NOT be getting any kind of hard drive based media player, because you're obviously not technologically ready for it. iTunes is a free download, and works with any computer, and if you can't handle downloading it to your computer, how are you going to cope with plugging the USB cable in, or turning on your iPod? It's just as easy as doing those things.

I'm in the same boat, I get people calling back to Walmart all the freaking time. "Where's the software." I'm like, "You download it free from iTunes, I told you that when you were in here 20 minutes ago." And they say, "Well I don't have internet." And then I always want to do one of two things. Either just flat out, hang up on them, or say, "That's tough shit isn't it? Get out of the past dumbass."

I mean, come the fuck on people, if your'e buying a $250 media player of ANY kind, don't you think you should have the interenet, or maybe, a way to actually download music? Like they're made to do. I know some peopleget them to rip their CDs to... but god damn. It's not hard, and it's not expensive. I want to write a 20 page rant about idiots without internet right now.

Yea, the software should come with it, but it shouldn't be a problem if it doesn't, I mean for christ's sake, metro areas provide FREE god damn WIRELESS internet throughout the ENTIRE freakin' city now days... How the hell can you NOT get god damn internet? Ugh... (Minneapolis Minnesota at least has free wireless internet throughout the city, very very good quality internet too. Can drive into the city with a Nintendo DS and play against other people online with WiFi, it's cool shit.)

I'm gonna go sit and think about hwo I hate stupid people that don't get internet... But somehow manage to buy a $250 god damn iPod...

OMG iAudio, I'm actually selling my creative to get one because they work on Linux and play OGG and FLAC which are what I rip cds to when I use Linux. Plus you don't need to install drivers, at least for the one I want.

Anyone else have a piggy bank set up to save for the iPhone? Not only the phone, but also for the $200 disconnection fee it's going to cost to buy out your current cell phone contract...
