Soooooo. I had a nice little 2 hr solo session last night.

Highlights:

10X legover>legover
10X pickup>pickup
6X legover>mirage>rpt (many attempts landed, but 6 consec was highest)
10X ss clipper (strong)
6X ss clipper (flip)
10X frigid osis (non consecutive)
3 osii consecutive
10X ATW In> ss ATW out>rpt (both feet seperately)
4X infinity, just couldn't do it.....
10 illusion each foot (not consecutive)
did a few toe>ss sole>ss clipper>ss pickup (strong side)

Tried some ducking stuff. Most from strongside toe:
5X toe>duck>butterfly
many attempts at toe>duck>pickup, footed many times, never landed
got a few toe>duck>mirage

It's cold again. Shitty. But the good thing about when it is nice, the sun is up until about 2:30 am and sets until about 4am, but it does not get dark, so I could play all night if I wanted.

But hopefully today I will get in another session:

goals: 10X ss flip clipper
20X clip>op clip
10X inifinity
DATW
DLO

On a sadder note, I may not be able to get out to Edmonton for Shredmonton!

I hope I go, I will know in a few days.

Later All.

Good stuff!

For ducking, try to just do the deck/dive rather than adding a butterfly or a pickup after it. It makes it much harder to do a trick after a duck rather than a stall.

Keep it up!

Have had 2 1.5 hr sessions in the last week. Nothing new, just getting more and more consistant.

Legover>legover X 15
Pickup>Pickup X 15
ATW IN > ATW OUT X 10 (Left and right)
10 ss mirage (left and right)
10 illusion (left and right)
pickup>illusion X 4
legover>mirage X 10
a few symple legovers bs (but not BSOS)
20 or so contact run (mostly 2's with a few osii, butter, ducks)
butter>pdx mirage>butter> pdx mirage
datw footed then fell off (strong side only from in to out)
dlo almost footed
10X ss clipper in a row both feet
6 X infinity
plenty of osii
nearly got toe>duck>opp pickup
ducking butterfly
ducking mirage

Going to see if I can hit a cool sick one for online comp and not too sure what to try for sick 3, but plan on filming tonight

Looks like I may get out to Edmonton after all, will not know for sure until tomorrow

Hey man!

Sorry I haven't sent a what's-up since Montreal. It was good to meet you then and it looks like you've really been schooling since!

Keep up the work on consistency; it's so rewarding to bust the long smooth style.

Hope you get to ShrEdmonton!

SO today was the first day in like 3 weeks wher eit didn't rain and it was plus 10! WHOO HOO!!

I had my first session in like 2 weeks. I felt rusty. I was sick with the stomach flu and also a crazy sinus cold. But I can taste things now and got out for almost two hours.

Drilled drilled and drilled. I hit ducking pickup!!! YEAH!! It felt so nice even though it is such a small move. I was upset b/c I was able to nail ducking butter almost everytime for the last month and a half.

Drilled pickups, legover, outside, inside, toes, illusions, mirages, clippers, atws, dlo's (never hit it yet) and datws (never hit that either, but footed it on my toe and didn't cusion it well enough! ARGHHH). Got like 20 or so contacts of legover>mirage and only hit about 7 infinity contacts.

But it was nice to sweat and get out in the sun. I also hit a few drifters, but they felt kind of sloppy, where my clip caught it half way there. But oh well, it was cool and made me smile, just like the duckin pickup. I was fucking around with pixie's and I am just not getting it. I aim for the inside of my knee, try to focus on different set release times and blah blah blah. It feels like I will never be able to hit any set moves.

But I will keep trying. I never got a chance to film, but may try before midnight. My sick one will be datw or dlo and my sick three will be ducking butter>opp butter>pdx mirage. Cool for me.

Oh and will be stitching a bit more. WIll make bags for Sen, Waylon, a few local friends, and will try to get a few stockpiled for sale.

Chech out my for sale page called "Eskimo Joe's Igloo of Deals"

Take care.

Had another 1 hr session a few hours after my first one in a few weeks. I felt relaxed. I was trying to film for the online comps at the last second. I didn't hit anything for my sick 3. I will hit it on film this week though. I hit ducking butterfly for my sick 1 but the fucken email would attach (gmail) and when it finally did, it wouldn't send it out! FUCKER!

I tried and tried all night to get datw and dlo. But then I though that a ducking butter is worth more adds than a datw and filmed that instead.

It started to rain after all today. So that is like 3 weeks straight where it has rained. Today was the first time I have seen the sun in a while though.

I tried something new to me and woulld like to know (if anyone reads this) what it is called when you do a clipper to a bubba but with a legover with the opposite foot added after. Fooled around with ssbutters. Fun stuff.

IMMEDIATE GOALS: Drifter, DLO, DATW (time frame 1 week)
SHORT-TERM GOALS: SETS, Eggbeater (3 weeks)

So yet another entry into my footblog.

I have had quite a few sessions here and there but only one thing new to repot and it was not all that clean but it felt fantastic.

I hit a toe set, ducking opp osis, which had like a little half spin in it. Gave me a smile all by myself.

Hit quite a few 20+ contact runs with only a few toe delays in 'em. Got 4 osii in a row, 20 lo>lo, 20 pu>pu, 7 contacts of pu>illusion, 8 contacts of butter>near mirage>lo, 8 infinity, 20 ss clipper strong, 15 or so ss clip flip, 5 ss butter strong, 3 ss butter flip, 10 ss mirage bs, footed datw in to out strong, getting closer with dlo strong, have yet to try this flip.

Will be working on butter>pu>illusion and butter>osis>opp butter, should be alot if fun.

Got my new Peng bags, a cuddle 49 g, blue and purple, and a 49g amaretta P2. Have yet to use the P2 but the cuddle is fucken awesome. I love it.

I have been thinking alot about what Peng said to me in Montreal, saying that I have ALOT of new bags. I want to start breaking them in one by one and hopefully have them all choice at the same time. But it is hard b/c I love using my newly weighted Streetfighter. It kicks so much ass and feels so nice. But I need to get around to using all of my aged new bags. I also have a clavens enroute and can't wait to try that out.

Stitching: loving it. Just need more time. I am ofter tired after a long work day processing scientific licences and doing environmental monitoring plus all the other duties. It makes me want to take like 2 weeks off just to stitch and footbag. God that would kick ass. I am going to finish off a bag for Chim-Chim, hopefully tonight, that I am trading for some amaretta. I want to start a bag for me. An amaretta Eskimo Bag. This is going to rule. I got the material from Peng and will make a mini for her with the material. I also bought some amaretta from Nathan that arrived the other day and am still waiting on some that I purchased from MarvlMan. The material will all go towards testing and seeing if I can find a nice filler that does not destory that material. I am thinking about ordering some of tha PF non-toxic filler, but would prefer to purchase it from the source. Anyone know where to get deformed steel shot that is used for blasting? I will buy it.

A special thanks to Iron Clad and Mats21 for the challenges. If anyone else out there wants to challenge me, please go ahead.

Siagutau Modified.

Drills drills drills.

Same as usual 20X pu>pu, 20X lo>lo, 10 contacts lo>mirage>rpt, 8 contacts pu>illusion, 4 osii, 10 contacts of atw in>atw out BS, 15 ss clip strong, 12 ss clip flip, clip>duck clip X 4 strong only.

8 contacts of butter>ss mirage>lo>rpt
6 contacts butter>osis>mirage

Footed, get this, quite a few swirls! HORRAY! Will hopefully get this down soon. Problem, was too tired to try it flip side, will drill those tonight. 8X infinity (seems to be my limit), got to third level of tri-force clipper drill, but did not get the third level complete. Got a few x-body rakes bs (about 3 a side, but not bsos), and got quite a few pdx mirage bs, 5 contacts of butter>pdx mirage>rpt.

The swirls were not hit but felt great, also pretty close to DLO and DATW, it almost feels like I will never hit these.

It is raining here again, which means it will be doing so for another week with 5-8 degree C weather, but it stopped for a while last night and I got almost two hours of shred out of it. Nice spot, right behind my house, and it is not cement or pavement, it is super compressed gravel, and I have been playing there for about 3 weeks with no shin splints, YAY! I used to play at our Legislaive Building's parking lot b/c of a little wind protection, but mainly fo rthe flat surface, and ended up with splints quite a few times. I could play on the gravel for hours and hours on end. I think it will be better for me and when I do get on pavement, I feel that my legs will be able to handle to hard surfaces then.

Stitching:

Finished off a stone grey and lapis bag, almost finished another active green and willow radiation, and have the panels cut for another bag that I get to sell. Will complete these two bags this week and will then start a trade bag for Shred Villain.

I sent out an active and willow radiation bag to Cope in Australia (my first online customer, have sold a few here locally, but b/c they kept bothering, these people don't even use them), and it got there in less than 2 weeks! WTF!? It has taken longer to get to other Canadian destinations, let alone, th eexact opposite side of the planet!

Don't know if I will offer active green as a colour much longer, I only have a little left and it is not carried at Field's anymore. I love this colour, so the radiation that I am about to complete will more than likely be for me, but I will post a pic when done, and if someone really wants it, they may just be able to buy it. We'll see.

That about covers it.

Here are a few goals, but this time, no time limit:

New moves to hit VERY soon:
-swirl bs: really need to drill flip, which means tons of ss clips consecutive first
-DLO damnit!
-DATW frig!

Oh, I was trying out a move that felt cool and hit it a few times and wanted to knowif it was anything. I was doing the butter dex, but instead of using my opp foot to clip it, I used the same foot and swiveled a bit and caught it with the dexing leg in like an osis position. If anyone out there can let me know what this is, I would be very thankful.

Take care and enjoy your summer, it seems like we are already in fall up here.

Hehe. Funny weather.
My girlfriend is from Yellowknife. I don't think it is nearly as cold there, but I haven't been myself. They do have that wonky no daylight during the winter and no darkness during the summer thing going on though -- is that similar to Iqaluit? I honestly had to look you up on a map a while back because I pictured you being completely on the other coast >_____<

So where do you get your filler, Andrew? Do you order it or get it locally? I need teeny steel shot, or something else heavy and good...

Anyway, I browsed your blog and it looks like you are making good progress. Good stuff. Try ducking toe stalls back-to-back -- that is a good drill for ducking. I think that is what Alex means... Too bad I missed Montreal -- it would have been nice to meet you. Keep up the shred! (Where do you usually play? In your house? Man you have some cold weather... what's the winter like???)

Hey Erik, thanks for reading my blog.

Iqaluit is cold. We do get the very little daylight in the winter and very little dark in the summer, screws with alot of people. You see tin foil and garbage bags on all kinds of windows. Also alot people get depressed in the winter.

The summer ave temp is about 8-15 C, the warmest it has ever been here was last summer and it got to a whopping 26 C. But it felt like 40 to me. Winter is about -25C. But I have been hunting when it was -50 and colder with the windchill. But w/o the wind it is usually about -30 to about -35 from December until April. April it will get to about -20, and the spring time festivities begin. My b-day, June 2, there is always some snow around and our harbour ice does not break up until about July 10.

It gets a little dark (twilight) at around 11:30pm right now, and by 3 am the sun is comming back up.

I usually play outside beside my place, but sometimes I go over to my friends (not too much at all lately) b/c he does not have downstairs neighbours.

I got my filler in Ottawa at a gun store called Le Baron (link to site:http://www.lebaron.ca/english/main.htm). 20 lbs of extra hard lead shot, size 7.5. But I do not know if they carry it there anymore.

I would reccomend that you order hevi-shot from ballisticproducts.com. It is a tungsten allow that is non toxic and weighs more than lead. But it is 129.99 US for 7 lbs. Here is alink right to that page, http://shop2.mailordercentral.com/bpica ... sp?dept=67. Product number 0557075 is what I would buy. I am still looking for a place to get deformed steel shot though.

Take care and please let me know if you find some deformed steel shot here in Canada.

Here it gets -40 celcius in winter to +40 celcius in summer (fluctuating in both directions of course)! It's kinda... hard to bear, mostly the heat -- cold is easy, 'cause you just put on more clothes (plus I love layering). You should try this -- when it is really cold (like maybe -30 will work), boil water until it is steaming (VITAL!), fill up a mug, go outside and toss it into the air -- it will turn instantly into snow! (My dad told us, and we were, like, "Haha, okay Dad, whatever." Now it is a Christmas tradition (though this past it was too warm).

Anyway, be careful with your muscles playing in those cold temperatures! It sounds like it's, like, 10 degrees too cold for me to play comfortably :p

Had a nice 2 hr session last night, solo as usual.

Nothing new to report except that I got close to swirl. Drilled the basics, did the tri-force drill, got to the third level again. Butter>ssmirage>lo>rpt 8 contacts, pu>ill>rpt X 6 contacts, lo>mirage>rpt X 10 contacts, plus the usual X10'ers, got a few clip duck clips, but only from strong side, had fun with butter>osis>mirage>rpt (6 contacts). Feels like going in circles. Got super close to clipper>ss dlo (near dlo?) Did a fwe symple lo's b2b.

Started drilling swirl, dlo, datw after about 1.5 hours of shredding and drilling. I will do these earlier next time, and will not stop until I land at least one of them.

Stitching:
Finished off a willow and active green radiation, 55g for myself. Will post a few pics later. I love how soft willow gets bags.

Got a job interview tomorrow to become the Manager of the Environmental Department at Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. They are an Inuit Organization that helped implement the land claims agreement, handle the territories trust fund and support many other inuit organizations.

Later all.

Had another 2hr session, nothing new, same drills, no records broken. Tried pick up to ss DATW and was so close. Lots of fun today, didn't feel so drilled, getting better at osis and flip illusion more and more. Will play again tomorrow if not raining to beat some challenges and stuff.

1.5 hrs today.

Lots of fun, getting more and more comfortable, but nothing new.
8infinity, 7 contacts of butter>osis>mirage>rpt, 9 contacts butter>ssmirage>lo>rpt, 7 contacts lo>illusion>rpt, 10 contacts pu>mirage, 4 osii b2b. Came close to torque (miraging osis), but it felt weird and was only close twice. Also getting closer to dlo. I am concentrating on set hight and trying to keep it nice and close to me, and then thinking about keeping 2nd dexing leg a little closer to toe delay. Will get there soon enough. DATW was close last night in socks. Really need a dexerciser for any DATW other than strong in to out. Will try out the plunger with a footbag on top later after work and stitching.

Gonna finish off a bag tonight after I am done writing an annual report. I am gonna plow through the report so I can do something fun.

Took the afternoon off of work, with pay to play footbag! HAH! I was getting paid to shred today.

Played for 2 hours and I am drained. I got a new personal record: 15 contacts of butter>ssmirage>lo>rpt. I also warmed up with 40 toe > opp toe, 20 inside>opp inside, 15 lo>lo>rpt, 15 pu>pu>rpt, 6 contacts of lo>opp ill>rpt about three times in a row, 10 contacts of pu>opp mirage>rpt (with about 3 other sets of about 6 or 8 contacts), 8 contacts of butter>osis>ssmirage>rpt, although I was doing this drill for about 20-30 min straight, 4 osis>opp osis>rpt, 7 infinity, got to third level but did not complete tri-force drill, will start with this drill first next session. Will also drill sym lo's and ducking. I am going to dexercise with the plunger again later.

Nothing new hit or attempted more than twice (DATW, DLO).

Finished off a bag last night for bdams19, will post a pic later.

Wanted to get these red lavers, but they are in Great Britain, and the bids are over in like 16 mins. About 10 mins ago, the bid was only 4.99 GB, but now it is at 11GB. If it goes much higher, it wil lnot be worth it, esp since I have 4 pairs, 2 fit, 2 dont.

EDIT: FUCK!! I tried to bid with 5 sec left and went 1.20 over the rec next bid, but some one went .50 above that at teh same time!

NOOOO!!!! Red lavers with white heel.

I didn't get a chance to have a session today, but I did get to finish off my very first amaretta bag. I love it! It turned out alot smaller than my facile ones b/c I had to use alot more gather.

I will have a nice session with it tomorrow.

I am also going to start a trade bag for Erik Savage and a new mini template for Peng.

Here it is:

Three hour session today with my new amaretta Eskimo Bag. This bag is fucken sweet and now it looks even better. I stopped to stare at it numerous times. 2hrs then supper then one more hour.

7 osii b2b, 1 contact away form 4th level tri-force, footed datw a few times, and footed dlo. Got a whirl dex but missed the bag with my clipper. It felt so cool. Butter>duck>butter bs! Could not link butter>osis after about 2.5 hrs, felt so dumb. But it may have been from fatigue, right before I could not get any more, I was drilling butter>ssmirage>rpt both sides for quite a while.

Nice little run: pu>mirage>pu>mirage>lo>illusion>lo>illusion>butter>osis>drop. I was going for butter>osis>ssmirage>rpt, but dropped.

These are my max hits for today. Tried more than once at eachh of these drills. 20 pu>pu, 20 lo>lo, 20 inside>inside, 7 lo>illusion, 8 pu>mirage.

Did some practice for stepping. Got a few very weak steps and an ok one, but nothing more.

Can't really think of anything else.

Got a few cool new ideas for a new bag and was tracing panels for a bi-polar 5 claw and saw that Brian made one! Funny.

Later!

Good work on all the progress. Sounds like you are really drilling and going for contacts. Way to go. And you are ducking from clipper and butter BS now? Excellent 8) Keep up the hard work, it pays off.

Don't worry too much about stepping. It's something that will come along when your butterflies and infinities get more solid. Stepping set is essentially an anti-butterfly, like if you play a video of a butterfly in reverse you will see stepping set, and vice versa. Once you can do 20 infinities, try stepping again, you will find it to be much more possible. BTW are you drilling infinities? If not, add that to the list :)

I'm sure you'll get DATW and DLO very soon. Rock on.
