there one common problem regarding us-Rapstars in europe: amsterdam

and dude, weed is just in a differnt league there. iÂ´ve witnessed that concept a few times.

I've seen Nas twice in Seattle (Not nearly an important city for Hip-Hop) and he tore it down. That coming from someone who doesn't even usually like Rap live, just 'cause Rap as a medium these days is more of a headphones/car thing. I can count on two hands the number of rappers who put on a good live show. One of those rappers is Atmosphere.

Roots, delinquent habits, goats, jungle brothers,dasEFX... theres a lot of great live-performers out there.. the only one i still want to see is krs-one.
its those "star"rappers that suck. EM is the poorest of all. imho any rap concert with more than say 1200 ppl audience is... not my thing.
rap has to be "close to the audience".

so why you'd pay to see him in the first place is beyond me. It's not like he's put out a good album in the last 12 years.

i paid because it was the firt time he was in europe.
iÂ´ve actually seen him in 95/96 or so. and his records back then were great. but still he was unable to bring the same level to the stage.

stephen, if that message was directed towards me, which i think it was... i never said anything about black vs. white or anything like that, nor did i say metal is an all white thing i.e. killswitch engage, sevendust... and what i was refering to about the "bitches and hoes" thing is mainstream hip hop, which to me does seem to be all about bitches, hoes, getting crunk, or getting your bling on. metal in my opinion isnt boring, but hip hop is... certain things appeal to different people.

everytime i say something about hip hop mostly being about bitches and hoes, the only response i ever get is "its not all about bitches and hoes" and no explanation of what it is about... stephen or someone else could you please give an explanation as to what hip hop is about, if it is not about bitches and hoes?

There's no one thing it's about. It's music, it's about as much as anything other music is about. You can pick bad rap artists, and I'm sure I can pick bad metal "artists".

If you listen to crap, then yeah, rap is all about the aformentioned "bitches and hoes"; and don't forget capping fools!

But if you listen to really good hip-hop, then you get a message.

Public Enemy was super political, same goes for KRS-One; you've just got to look in the right places.

hmm... so you expect somebody to correct your false statements.
iÂ´d say you should get informed about something _before_ you pull out stupid statements. if you want to learn about hiphop... get a book. read wikipedia. but dont type silly and expect us then to fill you in with the truth.

anyways, this thread was intended to be about NaS and not about hiphop in general. so please stick to the topic and stop commenting on bitches, racism or whatever.
