Mr. Sandbag is a good bag for new players because it's cheap. I would guess many fewer people would give footbag a real try if they had to pay $25+ for their first freestyleable bag. Plus to know how to get better 32 panel bags you have to be more knowledgeable and in the community already. It is much easier to tell a newb to go to freedomfootbags . com then to say "hey all you need to do is registered at modified.in then look for this user with this hard to remember user name, email him/her, send the guy/girl you don't really know $40 bucks (its ok, he's cool), wait a month, and then bam you will have a playable bag." Sandbags have their place in our sport and they are awesome for what they are.

well, i currently shred in converse high tops, no modifications (i know, ridiculous) and they have been worn through snow, water, mud and ice. they used to be all white, and now they are that sort of faded grey color. they soles have holes that expose the padding inside, and theres holes the size of a footbag on the inside walls. and i wouldnt shred in any of my other newer chucks. obviously, new rod lavers will be better than old converse, but im saying that in my own narrow experience, the more broken in, the better... until you are barefoot on the soles

also, i think its true that a mr. sandbag is key to growing footbag for already stated reasons.... accesible and cheap. for example, ive been into footbag for a year now, and i just recently found this forum with contacts to stitchers. i just placed an order with pegleg holly this week, so stoked! anyways, what im saying is that for someone new coming into footbag, it is near impossible to stumble upon a quality 32 panel. if they couldm then definitely its better than a mr sandman.... but they usually dont, i didnt. so there is my two cents. comments?

I disagree, when I was getting into freestyle I bought a Mr.Sandbag, and an Abshire. When I first got the Abshire, I was like "wtf??" it was sooooo small, and round, I couldnt play with it. But my Sandbag played awsome (until it died) But by the time my Sanbag died my Abshire was broken in perfectly, and I could shred with that. Now I wont buy/play with anything but a pro stitched 32p bag. But for beginners I think a Sandbag is essential.

My Abshire has since been replaced by my new Joshua Raye bag, and I have a Fearless 55 bag on the way.
