i watched this video back to back 4 times, because i was so impressed, and i felt like i was missing tricks half the time. i was rewinding parts to look at combos again and again. i loved the pogo blurs, the leg breakers and your midstring fairy ducking makes me so jealous. the muted tapping dlo made me yell out loud and my sister came to check and see if i had fallen over or something. wow. the last time i yelled and talked back at a video this much was a long time ago. Wow, what a treat! thanks Johnny.

edit: is there a way to put this on dot org? i'd love a higher quality downloadable version to show people.

Your game is super nice to watch, pure smoothness. The trick selection keeps on surprising, Dyno > Gyro Dyno, and Full Sidewalk stood out the most for me. The only thing I could ask for is more videos

Wow, pleanty of ass kissing in this thread so far. So let's come back down to earth.

I liked all of the muted stuff but was left wanting for more difficult trick selection. Variety and style was nice, but I don't see any point in telling you what you already know about your game.

I DID see what I thought to be several "the" tricks, but I really didn't mind too much. I did think to myself, though, "I wonder whether Johnny saw that when he was editing the vid."

This was not a ground-breaking video by any means in my opinion. What was ground breaking about it? I've seen muted before, I've seen pogo before, I've seen muted and pogo links and strings before. The editing was nice, but not ground breaking.

Why is everyone making such a huge deal about a 3 minute video of one player freestyling just because it is slightly different than most videos out for public consumption?

The reason it was ground-breaking for me is two fold:

Because I haven't seen a video with so many different types of muted links and moves before, and also his rhythm was so unusual and something that I haven't seen before, and it went perfectly to the music.

Of course many of us have done muted and pogo moves, but to execute and weave difficult variations of those concepts throughout an entire video is pretty neat and stylie in a day where everyone's pushing for difficulty and ignoring style.

I really don't think anyone was ass-kissing, maybe you're just too jaded to admire good, stylie shred.

In response to Johnny, at 1:29 I thought the triage might be "the", and at 3:00 the double pickup is clearly "the" based on the video angle provided.

After taking a clsoer look at all of the dbl pickup-style moves, I personally don't like your style for those tricks, which is to throw a whirl-style dex followed by a pickup dex. I think they look a lot better when the two dexes flow like a DATW. That's just my opinion. Review your dbl pickups in this vid if you're not sure you've ever thought about what I'm mentioning.

I really did like your flow and trick selection in most of this vid. It was very easy to watch. The music was nice.

I'm interested to hear if you though your video was ground-breaking Johnny, or just a well edited video with unique links. I've seen lon and takumi do entire runs of muted, and I've seen lon do pogo everything, for 8 years now. Am I out of my mind?

And Chris, it is true that I am "jaded," if you mean that I've seen so much footage over the years that it is hard for me to appreciate much of the new. But, I still do appreciate a lot of new footage, mostly of the best of the best due to their insane level of linking and trick difficulty. This to me was not one of those vids because of the easier trick selestion. I appreciated it for different reasons though.

I'm going to actually have to lean with Jeremy on a few things, but not all.

This video has amazing impact the first time you watch it, which is when I made my first post. It is super fresh and has a lot of links I've never seen. But when you rewatch there is a little lack of difficult links, so I think this video is groundbreaking STYLE wise, not SHRED wise. There is a big difference. I really love the links in this video and even though pogo has been done before it hasn't been such an integral part of someone's game. But this stuff is really not hard, it is just cool.

The double pickup is the, but I don't even care. I thought everything else was fine. The's bother me when it looks like shit, and his didn't look bad, just floated above the bag.

Either way Johnny gets props for using under used concepts and for thinking of nice links and for having a good style with solid use of both sides. I still love this video either way. It is a great way to get people pushing into other directions and thinking about things most of us don't use.
