What makes you sad?
It's pretty masochist isn't it. Or maybe the things Jorden would be doing if he weren't posting on modified make him even more sad than posting on modified. Either way, thinking about it makes me sadquadgun wrote:Im still puzzled as to why you still post here. It's been a year or two where you've thought this place sucks and you keep on coming back, its a time like this that makes me happy that we have an ignore button on this forum.

It makes me sad when people brag about being Republican while ignoring the facts over the past 20 years. Every Republican president during that time has driven our country into horrendous debt while going to war.
And then Republicans vote Republican because OMG the Democrats are going to raise taxes!! Okay but they only raise taxes on the rich. And do you know WHY they raise taxes? Because they have to pay back the fucking 10 TRILLION dollar debt the former president ran up. (Who, by the way, was ELECTED by the people making 250k/yr+ to begin with!)
It's like going out with your friends to a bar and your rich drunk friend runs up a 500 dollar bar tab and then bitches at you when you ask him for some money to cover it. It's absolutely absurd and it makes me sad and angry that half of the fucking country can't see that.

Sad/angry;
Defeatist attitudes!! "I'm not going to play this sport/ whatever because I'm not any good at it."
Fuck, nobody is good at things when they start. The only way to get good at anything is by doing it lots. If you never do things that you're not good at, you'll never be good at anything.
Defeatism is probably the personality trait most likely to make me not associate with a person.

Well it was all worth it because you made me smileRieferman wrote:Alright, if we're sharing stories like that, I have an embarassing one that's a little on the lighter side.
I have this monthly meeting with VP of marketing and our top supplier. It's a conference call format, so he and I sit in his office with the speaker phone on. Since they can't see us, we've developed a crude sign language to communicate regarding their ideas.
Recently, he hired a marketing manager. She's really nice and capable. So nice, we even had her and her husband over for dinner etc. Anyhow, she's on these calls now too.
So the supplier is discussing this dog of a promotion that I've turned down repeatedly for months, and so I give the universal "jerking off" motion as my silent response to the marketing VP, totally forgetting that there's this new girl in the office.
Then there was a round of silent "Oh shit, he didn't just make the jerking off motion in front of a woman at work" shocked glances as we all turned bright red. Then it went around the circle again.
Luckily, the girl is cool as hell, and the VP is more like a peer than an executive, so we all laughed it off after the call.
Still, caused me anxiety for days. Literally had trouble sleeping because I couldn't shake the feeling of being so embarassed.
I feel better now. Thanks.
Maths tests where they don't give you a practise test, or really tell you what's even going to be on it.

I think most times when people express strong dislike for a product it's irrational and not based on the actual product. I notice it with beer all the time. I wouldn't say it particularly bothers me though - more interests me. There are a lot of interesting psychology articles about brand loyalty etc. although I guess you need access to psychology journals to read them.
personally why i hate them is because of this:Slowsis wrote:People who irrationally hate Mac's, just because they don;t know how to use them. I'm pretty indifferent and like both. Its like racism.
Also.....Racism.

both are almost the same price but the one that doesn't have the "mac image" has the better specs.
also i understand macs are better for music and video editing, but most people i know who have them because theyre cool

I use MAC's (don't own one) and I gotta give em credit, they don't have many hardware problems. I work on a college campus where students bring their laptops and we fix them, and it's a well known fact that MAC's tend not to have virus/hardware problems... but when they do have problems, boy are they messed up, usually need to be refurbished or sent to Apple stores.
I also hate people who would buy a computer 'cuz they're cool'

I've had a parakeet named Bill for 2.5 years or so, and I've always felt that he was a bit lonely, so I went and got another bird for him so he'd have a friend.
he was obviously freaked out by it at first, but my dad told me that later in the evening, he had watched them, and they were being social and talkative.
but I came back late in the evening and my bird was dead!
not from fighting, I'm sure of it... that would have been a big noisy affair and my mom was in the room the whole time.
he was definitely a sensitive little animal... i think he died from stress related to high levels of confusion or happiness or both.
the new one looked terrified. he was pressed entirely into the corner of the cage, as far away from my poor dead Bill. I took Bill outside, gave a brief eulogy, and threw him in the evergreens by the front of my house.
The next morning, I took the other one back to the pet store and put him back with his friends. He looked glad for that.
