assuming david culd do it again, in competition, there is that 20 fearless video he posted a few (years?) ago.... so 20 contacts of fearless, and 12 4s (could even be mixed in) = add ratio of 4.62.

so david could....

and i think nemesis, bs clownface to pixie flurry would be the most possible 3x 4 dex.

for will digges: arch nemesis, nemesis, arch nemesis?

Edit: The point I made had already been made.

Nemesis>Nemesis>Blurriest Swirl would be doable.....but then how clean it was would deffinently come under intense scrutiny. There are a lot of dexes to 'the' in there!

Surely something like shooting ss dlo>sailing ss dlo>sailing ss barrage would be the easiest 3 quads. Or even shooting ss dada curve>shooting ss dlo>sailing ss dada curve.

I am so tired of hearing people talk about things they have no clue about. How can you make a post about the easiest 3 trick combo when you can't hit any of the tricks inside your proposed links? bs clown>pixie flurry has probably never been hit. If you have actually hit pixie flurry you know its really hard to pop out of anything. How many people have even hit it anyway? 5?

I have a lot of thinking on this issue but I don't even know if people can relate. The level of what we are talking about is just so weird. For me nemesis is easier than sailing dlo. Doing anything out of dada is awkward as shit for me, but easy for others. Differences like this make "most possible" discussions a bit silly.

Well I have, and probably more players have than you think (that was the first 4 dex move ever hit after all), but I agree with you that until you can hit all the moves you're talking about it's pointless to talk about which combination is easier.

However I think the point isn't which combo is easiest, but that there are several combos which are possible at all. Perhaps you can tell us which 12 dex 3 move combo(s) you've hit?

Also one speciffic thing I wanted to address, I've seen a few people try shooting dada, but I've never seen it clean. So if anyone wants to use that move to claim my money I'd better see 4 dexes and not 2 dexes and an ass.

I think all the first 4 dex moves were shooting moves weren't they? Rather surprisingly shooting star is attributed as the first 4 dex (shooting double down).

I agree that a lot more than 5 have hit pixie flurry though, although who can comment about cleanliness. There could well be 5 in the Southern Hemisphere who have hit it (although I'm speculating).

*sigh*

Dave made an extremely good point in his post, and I'm afraid it'll get lost in posts where people either brag that they've hit pixie flurry, or nitpick about his estimate of how many people have hit that trick.

If you've never hit a quad dex, much less linked quad dexes, then you have no place speculating what's "possible" or even "likely." It's about as dumb as that thread where people who can hit triple dexes were speculating about what would be the first quint ever hit.

If somebody hits 3 quads in a row in comp, great. If offering money will help, great. But guessing what that combo will be, when you aren't qualified helps nobody.

I'm just going to ignor that. Now let me attempt to rescue my own thred and remind everyone that I started this thred entirely and only as a public place to collect money challenges for worlds 2009. So if you have a challenge and are willing to put your money where your mouth is, please list it here.

So far we have two, and I think we can all agree both are very hard but possible (however unlikely). Now let's please let the discussion of speciffic combos die or move somewhere else please. Thanks

I don't see what's wrong with people speculating about things that they have little experience about. What's the worst that could happen? They'll be wrong. Oh noes, being wrong about a prediction on an internet forum. That sounds terrible.

Of course we do. That's what speculating is. I can even speculate that a 1800 degree spin can be hit on a snowboard even though I've never hit more than a 540.

Must I withdraw my contribution to the 300 shred fund as I've never hit more that 150+ and therefore have no place whatsoever sepculating about what can be hit?

This is ridiculous.

I should clarify: of course you can speculate. I can speculate that Einstein was gay and that his theory of relativity is wrong. I'm just saying people look stupid when they do so. It's like when a fat guy with a beer gut is watching the dunk contest, and says something like: "he should just do 2 more spins before slamming it home" when the guy can't even get up to get himself off the couch.

but the forum posters here are not fat guys watching a dunk contest in a bar. It's closer to saying that college basketball players can't talk about a dunk contest as the contestants are all in the NBA.

Honestly if I were not to speculate about footbag and tricks / links etc. I'd have quit a very long time ago. I'm done hijacking this thread but will gladly follow up on this in another thread / PM.

A far better approach to deal with ignorant comments is simply to respond to the comments as they are made and only to specifically refer to what was said. People don't learn by what isn't said, and if they think that a combo is likely, they're going to keep thinking that until somebody says otherwise. If you complain about them speculating they'll just keep their opinions to themselves. If they put them out in public and get feedback from them, they'll modify their views based on those responses (especially if the responses are well argued rather than relying on reputation or authority) and their knowledge will improve. This is the most ideal outcome to any issue of knowledge and "looking stupid."

Instead of aiming to keep the knowledge only with those of direct experiences, why not aim for shared knowledge?

I didn't say that nemesis>bs clownface>pixie flurry was the easiest and most likely 12 dex combo. I just want to see it that's all :D

I still think you should not offer money for 12 dexes in sick3 and 300 points in Shred30.

I would say that nobody's going to try them, but I won't because then someone does (failing miserably) just to prove me wrong.

How many people have done 10 dexes in Sick3 competition?
How many people have done 250 points in Shred30 competition?

What you should do is offer something for doing 10 dexes and more for 11 dexes. Then someone might try it.

No offence, but don't give yourself too much credit.

Thanks for the feedback, and I am also considering offering prizes for more realistic goals, like a t-shirt for anyone who hits a dropless routine. I reinterate though that if anyone else wants to offer a prize for any other challenge, such as a 10 dex sick 3 combo, they're welcome to, Otherwise it's the decission of whoever's offering the money what they want to offer it for.

It's also worth noting that we *might* be slightly changing the format of sick 3 in a way that will make it more realistic to try this (that decission is unrelated to my challenge and not final).

Update

I'm sure everyone had forgotten this thred, but I thought I'd mention that unfortunately no one was able to take my money. I may try this again next year with some more realistic goals. Cheers,
