What footbags do you recommend

if you think about buying an abshire mini, I can only recommend the mini amaretta/amaretta hybrid!!!

he uses two different thicknesses of amaretta, and these bags are awesome! very small, heavy and mushy!

and I think the often heard problem with the short lifespann of his amaretta minis (fearless 55) is solved buy using the thicker amaretta for minis!
(he although does have some nice colours as amaaretta, not only the standart brown, green and black stuff!!!)

waylons bags (Wasabi) are extreme, too!

I think he can stitch you the perfect bag onto your individual needs!!!

and Marco (mahhkohh) from germany makes nice bags, too!
the smaller ones need some time for breaking in, but all the bags I have from him (4-6 or so) broke in awesome!!!

but you can althogh try some of the more unknown stitchers, cause they are good too! just look in the "bags I've any stitcher here made"-thread and check out which bags looks you like!

I have a very big collection of bags, and nearly all are really playable!
of course, their "character" differs, but:

1.) every bag is good for one kind of playing
2.) your view of "what should a bag look and feel like" will differ from time to time or even change over the time!!!
3.) it's nice to support even unknown stitchers, cause they put the same effort into their/your bags than the known ones!
4.) having a nice collection of footbags is always nice cause:

variety wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: go with Lotus bags, they are so cheap, you can try nearly all of his freestyle bags and see which is the best for you without spending the money you'd need to pay for 2-3 stitcher bags on this forum. and they are nice playable, artistic and just different from the other stitcher bags!

yeah right now i am not overlooking lesser known stitchers i just want to get a guranteed bag however i do agree with those for statements and i checked out your footbags alf they were pretty nice

I don't believe Clavens is stitching, either, but maybe if you ask him twice (once to start, and again after he says it won't be good), and offered to pay a premium, you could get him to bang one out for you.

I'd like to put a recommendation for the Matt Cross footbags out there. My only pro footbag that I've owned to compare it with has been an Abshire Amaretta fearless 55, and it wore through the material in only 5 months, though I suppose that could be my fault. Either way, the MC bags are a better size and feel very solid. Not stiff (after a few sessions anyway), just well stitched and strong, even after becoming super mushy. I think his stitching is very regular, since it maintains the perfect sphere shape really well. His patterns are cool too. I'd definitely buy from him again. He's also really on top of communication.

Matt, I'll be in the Peace Corps in a few months, so your bags will be known across the world!! I'll bring you international sales!

sets ridiculously nice broke in after about 2sessions and it was superstally it is a great bag and super nice

gary bag
nice right out of the mail stalls nicely doesnt set as well as most 32s but overall its fucking amazing $5

im out of the loops as far as knowing who is still stitching and who isnt... so sorry if my recommendations arent current enough. as far as my experience goes with buying bags off the internet, i usually get a choice bag no matter who i pick. i can only think of a few occasions where ive been disappointed: when my bags didnt show up in the mail due to crappy postal service, or i get a bag that looks kinda wonky. theres really no way of telling what a bag will play like until you get it into your hands, which is why many people wait until tournaments to buy bags.

at any rate, if you do purchase a footbag off the internet and become unsatisfied for some reason, just talk with who you got it from. most people fix their mistakes.

I've played with a ton of footbags from all sorts of different makers over my 12 year career, and I can honestly say that of all the current stitchers who still make bags, Waylon is the best. Historically, Clavens and Felix also made sick bags. Right now though, Waylon is definitely the bagmaker I'd recommend the most.

EDIT: the last 4 or 5 bags I've owned have been Waylon bags, and I've played with a bunch of other bags of his when I play with NYFA. So my opinion isn't based on a single bag that was good, but rather based on his overall body of work.

How can you honestly say something subjective? You can honestly say that you feel something subjective; is that what you meant?

It's like me saying "I can honestly say Laphroaig 10 year is the best scotch".

Please don't take any of that as refutation of your claim (only as refutation of your phrasing) - I always list Waylon when I name top stitchers.

Can you comment on some of the features of waylon's bags (and waylon as a businessman) that put him on the top of your list?

You can't honestly say he's the best. You can honestly say that you think he's the best.

I realize that's nitpicky of me, but your post called for an explanation. It looked as though you were stating an opinion as a fact.

Your response to my post was so meticulous for the first half of what I wrote, what about the final 25%? looks like that slipped through the cracks.

The name of the thread is "what footbag stitchers do you recommend" (emphasis mine). I thought that would make it clear that all posts are people's subjective opinions. I also closed out my original post with:

people feel free to post some comments about bags that you liked and didnt give reasons too and dont be modest about your bags to all stitchers if you want to view this as a universal bag review thread then go ahead

dont clog up this thread and modified in general critiqueing peoples slightly incorrect phrasing because i dont want to be a hypocrite a will post a review

abshire standard- it was not that great it started out as a choice bag when i got it but then after a few weeks it became to mushy it would have been better if i changed the filler lastly it was not that durable the light green(do not know the technical name got holes really easy

abshires standards arent that great from my experience. But his Amaretta 55's are off the hook!

R u any good at clippers? Because I would say that the only real way you can judge a bag is by its clipper game. All bags are kinda the same when you play toe. But you can truely judge the way a bag feels when its played from clipper. I like a bag that has little-to-no roll, heavy, and small. I add an extra 5 to 10 grams on almost all my bags. Its all preference.

yeah i can hit clippers pretty well idk 25same side clippers th bag was good when i got it for like the first week or few it was really nice but then it became too mushy

why are fearless 55s so great i always hear that they are awesome but for 39.00+ s&h i want to know what i am getting i think a 30 bag including seems a bit more reasonable

i TOTALLY disagree, try tp stall a golfball and a recent Matt Cross bag. i think its gonna be ALOT easier with MCB and guess what ... its almost the same size/weight (if my memory is good a golf ball is kinda "heavy") or you should try to make a toe stall with the wasabi bag that i have (Waylon doesnt liek it either, "crappy bag" is his own words for my bag) or my fearless 55 ... they are like rolly rocks.

MC bags (im 50% satisfied with him, no 86 is crap but no 261 is just awesome)

and of course, products changes with time ... my bags arent like like they were ... just look at the entire "bags ive made" thread and look at all the evolution ... the first Hania bags didnt look great at all, and now .. and finally, even if someone get a hint from this thread, and buy a bag from someone, he may not like it ... just depends of his game

i can see how you disagree... But I have atleast 8 different bags from different stitchers (Abshire, Oshbag, Clavens) to name a few...

and I feel that they all play the same from toe. From clipper, its a different story. Maybe its just me... I guess Im just wierd.

haha your just like me man... When I started playing footbag I bought like everyones bag... And I didnt really get what I expected from them. Because I was new to the game, and I felt like I wasted my money. I think I bought 8 bags in 2 months (The First 2 Months I played and only knew how to ATW, Mirage, and Legover)... I havent baught a bag since then and Ive been playing for a year. And I love almost every bag I ever baught.

Advice... Save Your Money. Keep these bags you have. Break them in NATURALLY!!! Dont do all the crazy things you read about on here about breaking in bags, its the number one reason why some of my bags already have 4 holes in them. I wore out most of the material hand rolling instead of actually shredding. Just give it time, and Im sure all these beautiful bags you purchased will be collectors items in a couple of years. Just take care of them and they will all be good. Trust.

yeah i play fuck loads these days 3+ hours my abshire is done i gave one bag away to a friend and one to my sister so i only have two bags right

i bought these with gift cards that i havent seen in three months

they havent come yet but i think theyll the josh raye will ne here today and i have never done any hand rolling
