a couple more for consideration:
oasis
the pixies
queens of the stone age

i am not really a fan of any of these bands, but i remember when the pixies reformed a couple years back for a reunion tour and the world went nuts! oasis was heralded as the second coming of the brittish music invasion in the 90's, unfortunately the other groups to back them up were blur, who disappeared after song 2, and the spice girls. I don't particularly like much of what i have heard from queens of the stone age, but when ever they come on the radio someone freaks out and talks about how awesome they are, to which many other people usually chime in in agreement. their worthyness for the list thus will need to be backed up by some one else who both likes them and knows a bit about them.

Iron Maiden
The Cure
And as much as it pains me, Green Day

I think ACDC and the Clash are behind BBTs line.

I like Dirt Nasty a lot but Mickey Avalon just weirds me out. I saw both of them at Blazed and Confused Dirt killed it.

As far as what James said; who the fucks cares are you Chinese? The list would be different if it were a German audience discussingthis too but that isn't the fucking point cause we aren't German.

I think ACDC and the Clash are behind BBTs line.
You are correct indeed

Updated list. I've added a lot of your additions and some more of mine, especially in the hip hop department. I realized that even as I argued against generational bias in music I was guilty of it by not including more from the most influential genre of the last 25 years!

Sublime
REM
U2
Radiohead
White Stripes
Public Enemy
Run DMC
Barrington Levy
NWA
Eminem
Dr. Dre
Depeche Mode
Aphex Twin
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Violent Femmes
Weezer
The Police
AC/DC
Sizzla
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Whitney Houston
Tupac
*****
Nas
Lauren Hill
Beastie Boys
Run DMC
Rakim
Wu Tang
Rancid
Rage Against The Machine
Iron Maiden
Guns and Roses
Green Day
Pixie's
Queen's Of The Stone Age
Smashing Pumpkins
Ben Gibbard
Tomas Kolnacky
Coldplay

Removed: Dead Kennedy's, Tenor Saw, AC/DC, Clash (Last two for the same thing that keeps MJ out).

Keep adding to the list people. Fuck the 60's (JK)
