What makes a footbag event "bad"?

Theres no respect for people who put all the effort into making events happen.

I've generally heard that running events is a thankless job. I have experienced thanks and respect from lots of people, but some bad apples are memorable.

Jon, you seem to go out of your way to subtly disrespect us over and over again, and make our contributions into nothing. And make up intentions for us that don't exist. You don't have or likely want all the information.

Example.....if your posts in this thread were peer reviewed, none of them would have ever been posted due to lack of knowledge on the topic at hand and generally weak logic.

BTW Negala, I'm kicking you out of Chicago Inner Circle. No one really considered you part of the club anyway I'm just making it official. I feel that you are not the type of person that we want representing our club. To be clear, you no longer have anything to do with CIC and we absolutely do not want to be associated with you.

I finally found the ignore user function. There was no need to keep interjecting with every post Ive made. You coulda just ignored me, thats one good feature of modified.

On the topic- It was my first visit to Funtastics and meeting Joe and Brenda that really taught me to not be critical of promoters. They are old schoolers who have kept their event going through the years. Joe told me about how they used to travel every year to 20+ footbag events. Their efforts struck me because I wound up as a helper and stayed at Joes pad on the last night. I was in shock when I helped Joe return the sound equipment (same exact board and speakers as Scott D rents every year) and it took half the day to return it, and costed over a hundred bux for the 2 day rental, only because Joe had a special relationship with the music shop, its a 250 dollar rental. Thats a rental Scot has done every year since we complained about no music like 6 years ago.
Nobody who has the initiative and follow through to do a footbag tourney deserves any criticism. Thats the only way we will have people running events in the future.
I started the thread to see exactly what people might criticise so tourney directors can get an idea of what the modern freestylers want.










I really didnt mean to piss anyone off but I cant seem to avoid it on here lately Good luck on the footbag club thingy, both of you tom and frank. And I have never talked trash about any event the cic created and ran. The Museum of science/industry was one of the best events ever thanks to Danbrian. And the guy they had announce was the best ever.
My only problem in recent times (recent meaning 3 year old ancient history to me) was that it seemed to me that instead of helping Scott Davidson run the NYJ some people seemed to me to claim they were running the event on their own while making efforts to avoid the tourney directors name. - Ill admit you guys did step up the effort the past few years and I never minimized anything you did. All I ever said was Scott runs NYJ and I never edited my posts. I cant minimize your efforts- you did work , you did it and I never said anything to take away from that.
