Just a little on western Canada,

So far as I know the Saskatoon scene is totally dead now. All the up and comers have moved on into ultimate frisbee.

Speaking of Canadian footbaggers, Brett Campbell randomly turned up in Hobart last year. He plays frisbee too I think, and has retired from footbag, but we went for a good walk with a friend of mine to the top of the local mountain.

Brian moved to Washington, DC in 2009 or 2010. We overlapped there for about a year, and I got him to start playing pretty regularly. When i moved to Denver, he apparently pretty much stopped playing. There are some vids in my blog and on YT (search for footbag and mckenzie) from when we were in DC. He was still very sharp...just a naturally talented player. Hell of a guy too.

Saw Pete Irish a couple weekends ago. He's living in Colorado now, and does street performing in Boulder with his girlfriend. His show is pretty impressive.

Anybody know what Matt Bailey (UK) is up to these days? He posted on modified pretty regularly, and went to Worlds 09, but I never heard from him after that.

Matt Bailey hosted a modest footbag jam in London about 1.25 years ago in April 2011. Matthias L. Schmidt came, as well as Hania M. and Pawel Rosek from Poland. Also, Andrew T. Bosher, who I used to play with many many years ago in Colorado. Eric D'Argent from France also showed-up briefly. I'm sorry if I'm forgetting any other participants, but, it was mostly a very modest gathering. I think we all had a pretty good time, even though Matthias had some sort of injury, Hania wasn't feeling well either, and I, slightly drunk, pulled an idiotic sort of move in the subway and really bashed my knee --- it swelled-up real good, but I played not-so-badly anyway. I've never really known Matt that well or watched video of him, but I thought he had a pretty mean game.

And, it sounds to me like he repeated his hosting-performance this spring as well. Apparently, Flavio L. and Roy Klein were both in London to kick with him in April 2012. There is a thread about this gathering that is still on the first page of "Journeys to Tourneys".
