Haha, well if you need to read your post over for grammar and spelling mistakes before you hit "Submit", then that shouldn't count. lol, how about the people who are just naturally good? 8)

Ken never badmouths people, is always funny and curtious and always lightens the darkest posts with his quick wit and easy going style.

I nominate Ken.

Oooooh....out of context quote with the aim of smearing somebody! I bet I can guess your political affiliation in less than 2 guesses...

For a bit of context, imagine this situation:

Terrorists bomb your hometown, and kill 300 people. After a couple days, you finally find out that your friends and family survived. The politicians in your hometown tried to take advantage of the bombings for their political gain. The people of your hometown go out and exercise their democratic right to vote, and vote out the incumbents. 90% of the country opposed the war in Iraq, but the incumbents sent troops anyway.

Now, in this situation, I would call my friends and family in my hometown heroes of democracy. They weren`t intimidated by terrorist bombings, and they weren`t intimidated by the incumbent government who tried to use fear to solidify their political position. They went out in huge numbers and voted.

Now imagine that somebody on this forum tells you that your friends and family, people who are still recovering from a terrorist bombing, are cowards and are giving into the terrorists. That`s pretty sick, in my opinion. When NYC was attacked on 9/11, did other countries start calling them cowards the very next day? Even if people truly believe that the Spaniards are `appeasing terrorists,` it`s just plain bad taste to attack them while the hospitals and morgues are still fresh with bodies. Its in even worse taste considering that the Spaniards, especially those in Madrid, showed their true democratic spirit in going out and voting against an unpopular government.

So while this situation may be entirely hypothetical to you, it happened to me, on this very forum. Even if winning the moddy for `friendliest poster` was my top priority in life, I would be remiss if I didn`t point out the crassness and faulty logic of posters who are inappropriately insulting my people. Sorry if I didnt point it out in a nice way, but sometimes it`s not appropriate to be friendly.

As for how I`ve dealt with you... get over it. You posted mindless crap thinking that nobody would call you on it, and when I called you on it and you couldn`t defend yourself, you felt humiliated. For anybody interested, you can go read the thread yourself. Am I `unfriendly` in that thread? Yes, but upon reading that thread, it just becomes obvious that Matt is attacking me here because I bitch-slapped him so hard in the other thread.

In my defense, I like to think that I am pretty good about defusing flame wars and helping out newbies. But when people insult my intelligence or say blatantly offensive things to me, I see no reason to censor my words or reaction.

Matt wrote:its not a political discussion, its a discussion of whether you lighten discussions with your easy going style
Imagine somebody punches you in the face, then videotapes your reaction. Would it be fair to say: `look at Matt, he`s screaming and crying and really pissed off all the time!`? Obviously, no. I can`t categorize your behavior based on one incident where you obviously have a right to be angry and screaming and bleeding on your shirt.

Now look at the out-of-context quote you have of me. Now, if you bothered to read my reply in this thread, you would have realized that the bombings in Madrid are a very personal issue with me (as is 9/11), and so Nathan`s insensitive, partisan, and badly reasoned post very justifiably pissed me off. 99% of posts on this board do not elicit that sort of reaction from me. In that particular instance, I think my words were very justified, and I do not apologize for them. For you to use that as a typical example of my demeanor on the internet is both unfair, and obviously motivated by the fact that I humiliated you so badly before.

As for quotes from the previous thread where I humiliated you... well, I have to say that 99% of posts on this forum dont insult my intelligence nearly as much as yours did in that thread. You made a false statement, thinking nobody would call you on it, and when I did you gave an even more retarded response, and I pointed out how bad your logic was, and showed that you just regurgitate political lies without thinking them through. Sorry I made you look like a moron, but frankly you made it pretty easy.

I think that when people dont insult my intelligence, or victims of terrorism who vote, that I am pretty easygoing. But if you examine carefully the few times I have been unpleasant on this forum, I think you will see that I am rather justified.

yeah lets try not to have smear campaigns! If you don't think someone should get an award - don't vote for them - but there's no need to attack them either.

If you read the very first post in this topic you'll see how it works. The only way to vote more than once is to create multiple user accounts - it's just a friendly unofficial poll - if people take it that seriously that they do that - well I can't be bothered doing anything about it.

This thread is my new favorite thread ever. What started out as a funny little idea turned temporarily into a debate about Ken (he's mean to me all the time btw).. Plus there's lots of confusion over the rules.. Next we'll start debating paradox in spinning tricks..

Who wants to be the "nicest guy" on a forum?

Ken's got my respect for being the realest guy on the forum.

Well... under the 16+ different definitions of the word "nice" I would have to say to Ken... nnniiiiiicccccceee!!!!!

I second my own nomination for Ken as the nicest poster.
I've known Ken for years. He's 1 of 2 people who actually hitchhiked to my wedding.
He's one of the nicest most intelligent people I know and if he gets mad at ANYONE you can be damn sure that person deserved it.

Couple of things.
Nominations close tomorrow (which might be today for some people who don't live in the best country in the world 8) ) So get them in if you have anyone else who you think is friendly.

Secondly - this is for the Most Friendly award! So nominating people for other awards is a waste of time - you will just have to do it later.

Thirldly I'm going to put a smiley face at the end of this to look more friendly - although to be honest - I would give myself a better chance of winning "Most Arguementative Moddy!"

Ok - The poll is up! Remember you can't change your vote - so use it wisely. Voting closes on Wednesday Australian Eastern Standard time - whenever I log onto the internet that day anyway :D

Feel free to post who you voted for and why in an effort to encourage more people to vote for that person and to give them a really big head 8)

But please don't post about why you didn't vote for somebody - unless you have something to say like - (and this is true in my case) - I really wanted to vote for Chan because he is super friendly, but voted for C-Fan instead. It was a very hard decision and I fear I was influenced somewhat by issues that have nothing to do with how friendly Ken is
