So tonight I had my first BIG gig of the term. And our piano player decided not to show!! It was crazy.. I had to sight comp for all the tunes and we were re-arranging the tunes 5 min before we hit the stage. It was very intense, but we pulled it off, I geuss thats what jazz is about, or atleast what being a musician is about.
I was a bit nervouse because this bad ass gtar player went before us and he was ripping it up with Scofield and Metheny licks and the audiences (or at least my) jaw was on the floor. Then we went up and we opened with a George Benson tune that featured me. It was fun. After words the director of the jazz studies program said I had great tone!!!I was so stoked. Compliments are so nice, especialy in a room with so many awe inspiring musicians.
So yesterday was an epic session. James is such an awsome guy. He is so much fun to kick with and so positive. I couldn't ask for a better friend...anyway anough with the bullshit heres what I hit.
BSOS:rip>rip> bluriest, PS whirl, pdx blender, tomahawk, spinning p whirl, ss butterfly swirl, pixie paradon, pdrifter>torque, inspinging mirage>dimwalk.(different runs)
first time: pixie symp whirl, mid run, and spinning p drfiter
didn't work any strings, just the fatty downtime moves. I realy like kicking away from public and just working shit into the ground. I've done sooooo many strings I am definatly ready to move on. We'll see if when I hit up my next tourney I can actualy throw some hard moves or If I'll do the same old 30 contact strings all the time 8). I know I'm a deuch, but confidence is everything. I am a shredding-jazz hero.

OHHHH and I saw herbie hancock on thursday, It was life changing. That dude is like 70 and still tearing it up. Thats the one thing music has over shred. You don't stop music until you're heart stops. Even when I can't wipe my own ass anymore I'll still be arranging and scatting away all day long.

At work agian, one of few times I can go online. Thought I'd ramble on a bit about how things have been going. I probably won't talk mutch about shred since I did just get put into 2 vids recently. I was kind of bumbed my some of my homies didn't reply, but I geuss I don't write in all the video sections either.. by the way sick shred 30 at glass matt!
we're jammin!! I've been hitting up some jam sessions around town and feeling pretty good. Eye contact is a realy interesting thing. Its wierd to look at someone, or have someone look at you while you are doing something so personal like soloing. I'm constantly asking myself "What will take me to that next level in music?" and I think one of hundreds of answers is, look at the other musician and the audiance.
Girls are trouble! I currently don't have one and it sux, yet I know as soon as I get one in a few months I'll be bored and want it over....and thats the wierd thing because I DON'T wawnt it over but I'll do something or act a certain way to make sure it is over. Hmmm I have a feeling this all has to do with some deep psycological problems that stem from childhood. I think I need a shrink.
I have a very addictive personality. haha it sounds like such an excuse for bad habits, but its a good one. Yeah an addicitve personality, that explains it all. It doesn't explain why I'm only addicted to certain things. I can't waik up without hitting the snooze button anymore, witch is wierd because I never used an alarm clock before this year.
The Sienfeld dvd is pretty good. The extras have some good insights, and some of the early episodes they have only played a few times on TV as opposed to the hundreds of times they've played the chef nazi one, or "the bet". Tv is horrible but I just seem to turn it on when I come home from something stressful.....
So I wonder if this self analysing does any good. I think I've gotten pretty good at it actualy, analizing my weaknesses and my charcter flaws. I just need to figure out how to do something about it. But I guess thats what life is about...speakiung of witch I'm Broke!!!I had 2gs to blow this term and blow it I did. Shit! all of you highshoolers better be freeking, I would be if I told myself I could go through 2 grand in a few months. I geuss close to 800 was bills but still, twelve hundred is alot of partieing. I think I need to check my bank statements because I couldn't have had that much fun recently, hopefully they just charged my debit card when I made reservations in colorado. CSS SOON! I'm going to watch TIT part one now, James I apprieciate you putting it on wmv. and maybe ken too...

hey alll,
I'm still alive and kicking. I've been raking and eggbeating alot lately. I hit drifter.>drifter.>pdx dlo>dimwalk>rpt first try. life has been going by very fast. This school year has flown by. haven't hit many 5s because I'm outa shape, but FUCK being in good shape there are plenty of fun moves to do while carrieing extra baggage. Plus food is good, and the train has been in town alot lately.
munched out!

PS I'm goin to be staying in SF this summer and hope to be getting ahren and sunil back in to a kick routine. I still am planning on attending funtastik.
OHHHH YEAH I did a 6 min footbag demo at my friends senior recital, 2 drops in 6 min. fuck yeah, people loved it, i juggled a bit too. good stuff, more soon.

Glad to see you back around... :D

Lets here some phat combos!

you always had strings, if we push you on combos you can put them IN the strings, and then the strings will start getting fearless and it'll be all over ;-)

I did like the drifter combo though...

If you bust rubberman twice through everyday, you will be in perfect shape...even with no other exercise but the warming up to it. Diet is also very important to though...try to like the RIGHT foods :) People are 80% habit, get some good food ones and you'll never have troubles with "extra baggage" or "outa shape"ness.

Peace man,
Bum
