Hania Mickiewicz hitting BLURRY TORQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hania is awesome. I had been seeing many clear stepping sets hit by Hania on Polish Champs. But she didn't show Blurry Torque.

Only 3 (or 4, I don't remember exactly) drops and 221 adds. I don't remember how many contacts, but i'm preety sure, that add/contact ratio was over 2. She has greate form for Euros.

-i think lise was the first shredita to hit a 6 add..... but im pretty positive it wasn't on video... i think she hit maelstrom... but i'm not 100% sure about that. props to both of them...
-slurry or "the-d", it was still hit.... and since she hit it at least once... that means she'll surely hit it again, and it could only get better over time. congradulations hania.
(EDIT: Mike Hansen confirmed lise hitting maelstrom)

not to detract from Hania's achievement, im sure she can hit this move clean at another time if she wanted to... but i dont really count 'the'd' moves as being hit... like if i did Nemesis for example and the'd the last dex but caught it on the clipper, it doesnt count in my book
but mad props to hania! blurry torque is hugeness!

ditto on what chopper just said. i didn't think anything was the-d (maybe my slow-mo missed some frames?)...the blurry set was a little pull through, but that's all I thought about it. I still think it's awesome that women are pushing to the next level of difficulty rather than sitting on the 3 & 4 add plateau any longer. Whoohoooo!
What I also really would like to see out of the women are difficult links and combos. That's where I'm putting my time in right now...not on adds. some genuine guiltless linked with some unique 4s and 5s.

I think it's important that we support and encourage women freestylers to push their games as hard as possible, but I also think that videos of players hitting unclean tricks doesn't represent them well. How does Hania feel about her video? Personally, I think if she can get that close, she can bring herself closer, and hit it cleanly. I also think the implication that sloppy tricks are okay if you're a girl is a bad precedent to set. Women are just as capable as smoothness and cleanliness as any guy. Look at Carol, Jane, Caro, and Nadine... We should respect women as equal players by holding them to the same standards of quality as the guys, and not give the message that 'sloppy is good enough for girls'.

Hey Matt,
Good to hear from you. I agree with what you said too...and am generally adament about holding that standard of quality...and also figured there would be some discussion such as this when I posted the trick which is why I did not start this thread. And I wont even get into how this standard was also compromised in TT2 (an INSTRUCTIONAL video!!) having slop, the's and slurs on multiple occassions. *However*, let me just say that I have noticed the following trend: when I first launched Shreditas with lots of footage of guiltless women shredders, there suddenly seemed to be more women trying to kick at that level. Then, when I posted footage of women hitting 5's, it seemed women started hitting 5's. Now Lise hits a 6(maelstrom) and *poof* women are trying to hit 6's...and with some success! So, my stance is that what I can make available for other competitive women players to see, I will. Hopefully some other women will watch Hania's trick (and since there isn't any evidence of Lise's 6's on video yet) and take it as a challenge -- "Hey, I can hit that!" or "Hmmm, I bet I can bust a 6" and then I will post more women hitting deep clean 6's on Shreditas. I'm not saying that Shreditas is the reason why...I'm just saying that women tend to push their game more when they see other women playing (not men)(check the Shreditas Mission statement on my site to see where I'm coming from). I hope that by having Hania's vid up on Shreditas it will compel other women shredders to skool harder!
EDIT: Did you see Ashley just started a new thread?!!

I think Ashley's food processor is a perfect example of how shreditas.com inspires women.
The point is not that Hania's torque isn't clean it's that seeing women push themselves inspires more women to push their game.
No offense guys but most of the ladies don't care what you're hitting. They care what the other women are doing.
