So Matt didn't make it out to the session today but Dan did, we kicked for about an hour and a half.

I hit
legover>mirage>legover>mirage>butterfly>pdx mirage>butterfly>pdx mirage once.

pixie legover>magellan>parkwalk

fairy butterfly on my strong side (my first ever fairy set move)

tap bsos

I hate to say it, but I neglected my left clipper too much, it's really starting to show. I have made it my sworn duty to get my left clipper up to speed asap and I've been really focusing on the flipside clipper. Today that's all I pretty much did. The alternating clipper drill is really helping, I can see very small improvements over the last 3 or 4 days I've really started to focus on it.

I also started doing a real simple drill toe stall>clipper>op toe stall>clipper repeat with butterflies. The cool thing about this simple drill is I'm doing it everywhere, bus stops, li

ugh, mixup of buttons and I accidentally posted that mid sentance. (wheres the edit button?) Basically i was saying that drill is awesome because it lets me practice my form for flipside clippers and it's so simple I can do it anywhere.

I guess that's all I have for today. Oh, P.S Dan hit his first pixie rake! The only pixie set move he's done before that is pixie legover.

So Tom just left, we had some amazing sessions this weekend!

I got to the bus stop at 4:05pm on friday. I find out that the only bus from kingston arrived at 4:20 so I waited till then, the bus came and no tom, so I waited till 5:15 and while I was waiting the bus station told me the next kingston bus didnt arrive till 9:30 or so, so I left, coincidentally toms bus arrived just as I was leaving, so I went to the hack meetup spot and met up with Matt, we had a discoraging shred because we thought Tom wasn't going to come, but I hit ripwalk for the first time, and also stepping pickup for the first time, everything else pretty much sucked.

So I get home and my dad tells me that tom called and was at the bus station that whole time, so I drive down to the bus stop, pick him up, then I give him a nighttime tour of Ottawa, and then we head back to my house and do some shredding in a little plaza near my place. We gave out a few footbag info cards to passer-by's and hit some so-so stuff.

On saturday we went down to Confederation Park and met up with Matt again, so we had a good circle, Matt, Tom, and I. Tonnes of shit was hit, mat had some crazy illusion strings, stuff like clip>pdx illusion>clip>pdx symp illusion>pdx ducking illusion and tonnes of other shit, we got about an hour of tape, we played all day.

The next day... today, we played at the same park, then moved to Majors Hill park for some 4 square and a change of scenery, got lots of good footage again and then tom went home, and then I wrote all this.

Anyways i guess look for that footage on here soon.

Oh ya I hit a 19 contact tiltless string for a new record, and my new alternating clipper record is 15.

Amazing weekend man.

Thanks for the fun times.

I think it was 20 tiltless though, you dropped a duck on 21 I think.

I shred with some of the Aylmer footbag club yesterday.

It was a short session, maybe an hour, but I did manage to seal ripwalk flipside for the first time.

I also hit butterfly>pdx mirage>butterfly>pdx mirage>butterfly>pdx illusion>butterfly>pdx illusion a sorta weak 8 contact guiltless :D

other than that, nothing really stood out about the shred session.

I've come to realize I really enjoy fairy sets! As of now I've only hit fairy butterfly, but Im working on fear and im really drilling my flipside fairy, hopefully I can establish fairy sets as a solid part of my game!

My next big one will be this Sunday. I convinced some of the Aylmer club to come to ottawa and I rallied the hackysack troops to come out too so there should be a big grouping, alls I need now is music and more hacky slackers to start shredding :P. I shall update the blog sunday evening

Ps. new alternating clipper record - 17
longest tiltless string - 20
Longest guiltless string - 8

I shred with Matt and his aylmer friend today.. I can't remember his name but he's got an awesome clipper game. There was also about 5 hacky slackers, and two possible future footbaggers too. We all kicked for two and a half hours.

I hit ripwalk both sides sooo many times today, but never back to back, which I was trying to accomplish today. I just got home from work so Im about to strap on the lavers and shred for a bit, thats my number one goal for this evening. But I gotta wait till this peppercorn burger digests a bit more, for I fear cramps.

Today I also FINALLY hit flipside whirl, and very cleanly I might add.

I hit a string that is huge for me today: dimwalk>stepping legover>plo>dimwalk>stepping legover

I met another guy today that is interested in learning more about footbag.

Other than the flipside whirl and much more solid ripwalks, nothing else is really worthy of mentioning in this post. Im going to drill now and hopefully have some new records to post about.. and back to back ripwalks followed by a nemesis or something.

OK I drilled all day and tried to raise my alternating clipper record, I was successful, brought it from 17 to 18 and thats good enough for me, i drilled it for like three hours today so I got lots of good clipper practice, I also set a shitload of records today, you can see them in the records section at the beginning of the bloggerino.

If anyone has any suggestions for drills around the same skill level as the ones I have posted, please feel free to tell me!

Not too much to update on. That Ottawa session video is finally online http://www.modified.ca/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=6760

I've pretty much been drilling lately and that's it. I've hit blur both sides, i guess thats it for new stuff. Drill Drill Drill, thats all I do right now, helping my progression from tiltless to guiltless.

Also I've been considering running. I'm starting tomorrow with 4000 metres.

Worked on some fairy using that new advice I gained from this forum. I realize that the reason my knees hurt when i tried to pixie is because I was doing it wrong. I was cranking my lower leg unneccisarily. Now that i smooth the fairy out it seems to feel alot more natural and it makes me happy because I love fairy! I also sealed fairy butterfly both sides, PAINLESS!! and I've never hit fairy butterfly flipside so thanks so much for your tips guys!

so I just finished a one-and-a-half hour drill session and I bumped these records up:

right clipper - 17 (10/09/04)
legover>butterfly>far legover - 16 (10/09/04)
butterfly>butterfly - 11 (10/09/04)
left clipper 7 (10/09/04)

oh and new drill records:

clipset>ducking clipper - 2 (10/09/04)
RIPWALK>RIPWALK - 2 (10/09/04)

Yep finally hit it, Ok, it's not really a drill but it's the beginning of one :D. I've been trying to hit ripwalk back to back for about a month now, and i just did it, and sealed it :D very clean too I migh add. In fact after I'm done this blog entry I'm going to try to hit some more, maybe even raise that record :D:D:D:D:D

I also hit today:

Atomsmasher Strong side (hit flipside a few days ago barefoot)
Dimwalk>blur
plo>smear>plo

Yea cole, come to Ottawa!

I was talking to Dan Wax, local shredder, he's going to carleton and he's up for whenever to schedule gym space when you come down Cole

Ok so for the last two weeks all i've really been doing is drilling and trying to raise my drill records i havent tried to really freestyle till today and fuck i gotta say the drilling payed off, check out what I hit

Today I hit:

plo>plo>butterfly>pdx mirage>butterfly>pdx mirage>butterfly (drop)

dimwalk>ripwalk>ss pickup>legover>butterfly>butterfly

dimwalk>pdx mirage>plo>tap

magellan>illusion>tap>butterfly

magellan>parkwalk>ss pickup>mirage>butterfly>butterfly>ss pickup>butterfly>blur rolloff :(

and my favourite of the day!
plo>dimwalk>ducking pickup>mirage>symp mirage>butterfly>pdx mirage>legover drop (on a legover! pshh)

Holy fuck i feel so good right now

also.. I'm hitting my osissessess both sides alot more consistently now, I did some runs with them but none really worth mentioning, just a bunch of tiltless with some osisesses both sides thrown in.

All awesome stuff .... Your strings seem to be getting so much beefier!

The above mentioned is my favorite though. Tap out of PLO is cool!

Not too much to mention, I just felt like adding another chapter to the blog.

I shred with Dan yesterday at the YMCA. He hit a shitload of pdx illusions for the first time ever today, and of course, both sides.

His strings are looking alot better now and he confided in me and said that this whole winter all he's about is footbag and school. He's never given any sign of dedication more than that so it made me happy!

He also mentioned how he really wants more of an Ottawa crew and he's been really trying to get his buddies into the game. He's got alot more active friends than I do so I say more power to him! I really gotta try to push those on-the-edge hacky slackers over to footbag.

A little funny blurb about our Y session. Dan challenged me to hit dimwalk>pdx illusion>parkwalk and i said that I couldn't pixie out of a pdx illusion yet but I'd try it anyways. My first try I hit it no problem! I thought that was awesome hehe.

I'm shredding with Mat Laroque from Aylmer tomorrow! I'm making the drive out there at 10:30 to meet him at his school. Hopefully all the other Aylmer crew will be out representing. I have to hit blur>dimwalk at some point during the sesh, we'll see what happens..

Just got back from the session. We shred from 11:30 till 3, good stuff, real good stuff

my flip pixie is becoming much more stringable and im happy about it!!
I hit plo>smear>plo>dimwalk>blur>dimwalk, lots of both sided pixies :D :D

I was trying desperately to hit Joe Kulacz challenge of dimwalk>ripwalk>ripwalk>blur and I got as far as the stepping set of the blur about 5 or 6 times but I could never get that last blur in :(

Mat is finally hitting both sided gyro torque! very stylie, and he must have done at least 7 rakes in a row, followed by a ducking and diving rake, man that guy is a rake machine its gross.

The other guy, I don't know his name, but he hit swirling hopover a couple times and an ass load of long clipper strings..

I hit my first combo with both sided osissesses

osis>far legover>smear>pixie pickup>ss osis>far pickup> and then some other tiltless stuff.

What else..

I hit dimwalk>blur>dimwalk :D and I almost had blizzard, almost

hit a smooth clip set ducking osis, ducking pdx mirage and clipset ducking pickup

that's all I can remember right now :D
