I managed to hit outside set pixie legover outside > pixie legover
Been trying a couple of barage.. I got a couple of good sets but I'd end up hiting the bag on the dex, seems doable
Another thing I tried and seemed possible was atomic smasher, but it seems doable only from my flipside, same with crispy eggbeater.. There still a lot of work to do on the set, the speed, and the timing, but it defenetly looks doable

I need to work so much more on flip clipper, but I can manage to do them back to back a couple of times like left clip > right > left > right > drop... I wish I could do like 10 every time and get good control.. but theres so much work to do on that..
I've been cheking my improvement since I started this blog not so long ago and I must say I'm pretty satisfied. Hope my goals will be acheived in Gabon! leaving in 9 days

Mathieu,

Just read all of your blog. It's cool that you're tracking your progress, and have a great trip to Gabon.

However, I must say, some of the stuff you seem to be spending time on seems really pointless and detrimental to your overall development.

Really .. trying to hit reaper when you aren't even confident in your flip clipper?

Other stuff like barrage, DATW, atom smasher, paradox double legover etc etc etc. Basically stuff that you will only be able to do on one side .. it may be fun to hit new moves, but TRUST ME... if you practice your fundamentals and get them solid on both sides new moves will come so much faster in the end, and they'll come on BOTH SIDES!

I don't mean to be discouraging, but it just seems like you should build a more solid fundamental game before you start breaking into 2 dex or harder moves you won't be able to link very easily or hit both sides.

Footbag is all about building blocks ... So make sure to get your base solid first :)

Good luck!

I like when people tell me to work my fundamentals, it motivates me to work them harder :)
Thanks Cole, I was just thinking lately how much I stopped working on flipside and should reconsider it, I'll try to work harder on it
It's been a month I barely worked it besides when I do 2 add strings (anywhere between 5-15 contacts) or by starting strings on flipside..
I'll just try some toe>inside>outside>outside>toe on flipside for it to be stronger before I work more on clipper, when I try to push it the hardest as I can and try to pump with support leg it wont even go pastmy waist.
I'll get working on that over the weekend I got enough room for that in my room and I got some bits of free time before leaving

The time as come, I am leaving in 3 hours for another world :D
I'm really excited but I will miss all of those that I met in the footbag community in the last 6 months, I've had a load of fun and even tough I'm still here, I can't wait to get back to kick with everyone again!

I'll try my best to shred as often as possible and post my progress
I'll see some of you at Worlds unless something bad happens!

out and gone! :x

Good stuff happening, I keep improving faster then I expected I would, I'm pretty confident all my goals will be acheived by this summer!

I'm still focusing on basics a lot; it helps so much its ridiculous! And every now and then I try to link 3's but it's not so easy for now... I'm sticking with 2's mixed with 3's.

Last night I went to the most fucked up place yet in town.. I mean by coming here I knew girls would be after me since I'm a white boy in a black people's land.. but damn that nightclub girls would just grab me and kiss me all over.. sometimes having 3 of them, and sooooo HOT, I cant beleive I did'nt bring one home! Of course most of them are only doing it so they can get in your home and make a mess and steal money, but it was really fun, but mostly weird! I don't think I could live stuff like this in Canada without paying

I'm trying to mix with the community; so far I'm hanging out with frenchies but I am trying to see some Gabbies.. This weekend I'm not traveling with the frenchies, instead I'ùm going to try to hang out with some students from the school I work at, hope it turns out good, I want to learn about this country, but also about the people, what good is knowing the place if you don't know how people live in it!

Anyways thats enough for now;; more to come!

Long time without an update.. I need to track my progress here and not flood montreal footblog that is a bit dead right now :)

I've been able to do lots of 30 contacts tiltless strings lately! .. of course big part of them are on strong side, but I try to keep at least a 1/3 ratio.

I've been able to link some harder moves midstring lately, datw, pixie buterfly, dbl switch, atomic osis.. Ok not too often but it happens!
On a good day I'm able to hit eggbeater midstring no problem, same for symp mirage (only on flipside for some reason..)

I've stopped trying moves that are too hard for me long ago. But an occasional reaper try isnt bad, I've cleared the 2 dexes a couple of times, but did'nt stop my foot on the right time!

Right now i'm trying to learn whirl, it's time that I work on learning it, it's a bit hard since my pickups arent too good, so basicly I need to work pickup, and flip clipper (more and more, it's always good!). I've hit whirl couple of times from toe set on good side, flipside from clipper set I got it on foot also, but never delayed it.

Once my flip clipper is almost as strong as my strong one, I will try to go for flip swirl, I've hit it twice, but I need way more control.. My good swirl is'nt too good either, but I never practice it.. I'm waiting for flip to be stronger to work both at a time!

Otherwise datw is becoming really easy for me! even on flipside I've hit the move more then once :)

Pixie sets on strong side are good; but the problem is midstring..
On flip it needs improvement, but I've hit flip pixies: smear, pixie legover, pixie pickup..

I need to train hard for my routine! that's my main focus beside working by flip clipper :)

13 days left to my job, 24 days left till I'm in Paris.. can't wait!

blender 2 times!
one really ugly (it felt like it)
a couple of trys and I've hit one that felt really clean! But I'm not going to work on it right now, flip clipper is more important, and I would really like to get some flip osis sometimes.. even tough my strong osis is crap! wich means blender is'nt a good idea!

wow inspiring session today!
diving cliper > diving cliper > ducking cliper (on foot but droped)
ducking cliper > ducking cliper (starting from strong one, ive hit starting from weak one before)
datw flipside coming good, flip clipper being improving really well. Not for consecutive flipside clippers, but I can duck it like butter compared to 2 days ago wich was pretty hard!
flip osis is also feeling like its coming, I can move better but just the finishing motion is bad and I miss the bag.. Just more practice and a better feeling/control/view of the bag.. technic is there :)

I did'nt go for strings really much, but I've hit good stuff bsos that I have troubles with, especially flip ss buterfly that I can finaly land (sometimes :) )
