Actually, you were right.

When this thread came out, I had a long back and forth on PMs with Matt Cross, who was real adamant that `WHAT?!` was butterfly reverse swirling opp toe, and I was like: `dude, I`m the one who hits the trick, I would know. Trust me, its symposium reverse swirling leg over.` We ended the conversation with me resolving to check it out on video, and that I`d try and send him footage (...to prove him wrong, cause I knew he must be).

Fast forward to last weekend, when I finally got to play, and got to see myself play on video. Frame by frame viewing of WHAT!? showed me that even though I mentally think of WHAT?! as symp rev swirling opp leg over, it is in fact same side butterfly reverse swirling toe. Go figure. So yeah, sorry Matt. I was totally wrong on that one, it happens.

Anyway, I think the story illustrates 2 points nicely:

1. It can be constructive to think of moves in a different way. Like the topic discussed in this thread, symp swirling dexes and symp miraging dexes are kinda similar, definitely related. By envisioning moves differently, maybe we can hit new strange moves? Because no way would I have ever thought about trying butterfly symp reverse swirling opp toe, but ps egg seemed entirely doable. I can`t hit WHAT?! if I think of it as anything other than PS egg.

2. WHAT?! is a good name. I named it WHAT?! because that was the reaction it received every time somebody saw it. It wasn`t til this weekend when I saw it for myself, and had to slow-mo it repeatedly to figure it out, that I realized that even I didn`t understand it. I actually said WHAT?! out loud a few times while watching it.

WHAT?!? is a great name. That's what I said when I saw you hit that in Tokyo. Kept me up for a while thinking of pdx flails as symp reverse swirls.

So yes as you say: symp swirls and symp pdx miraging dexes are very similar.
Same goes for symp reverse swirls and pdx flail dexes.

Still illustrating what I mean in this whole topic: the vid I submitted in the sick one:

I play it like a spinning symp. swirling pickup, but if I tweaked a little bit it could look like spinning bs toe blur.

It just really depends what dex you hit first. This is basicly the same point you made about your WHAT?!?: is it a rev. symp swirling leg over or a butterfly rev. symp swirling toe? Both dexes are done at nearly the same time. Just depends whcihc one comes first.
