OK, I just returned from this thing and some great stuff went down, good enough to write about it immediately. There was a nice little turnout at this jam, a solid 30+ shredders showed up to send TJ off to Japan. A nice mix of newbies, oldbies, and those right in the middle. To start with in competition, TJ threw down a great routine to win his own tournament; very solid. In shred, huge props to Aric McIntosh for winning only his 2nd competition, and for showing huge improvement in his game. Also showing lots of potential were Zach and Tommy. In pro, Flash Gordon swept the tournament with a dropless shred 30 and a very solid routine. John Schneider took 2nd with that artistic original style and GF smoothie broke out some new innovative 4-bag tricks (

) (yes I said 4) for a 3rd--a few less drops and who knows? Schneider snagged the sick trick contest with some Schneider insanity called a Twist--I dont even know what the hell it was but it was phat. Bevier close second with symposium bedwetter.
The real bomb of the event went off in the circles. Scott Bevier OWNED. Combo after combo of giant stuff, huge links, 50+ contact strings sealed with passes, it was like he could go on as long as he wanted and would just stop when he felt like it. It was a devastating display of by far one of the phattest styles anywhere today. Great shred was shown by GF, Jon, and a special appearance by Brian Mackenzie. Kenny Shults was on fire busting huge and topping his session off by hitting double spinning gyro barrage!!!
David Clavens showed up and within minutes began warming up with some huge strings looking very sharp. Minutes later he rolled his ankle pretty bad. It swelled up big and he joined me in the injured/judges bracket. We watched and judged all afternoon. At the end of the day he could stand it no more and decided to play anyhow. He began dropping some very mean phat combos...very mean. To end the event as the last man standing he proceeded to throw down his first atomic torque, followed by his first Gauntlet

, and ended it out with a clean FLIPSIDE NEMESIS

. At that point we all decided we had better go home. It was EPIC. What can I say about David Clavens? Be afraid....be very afraid.
Overall a great day of shred. Huge props to TJ and GF for making it happen, and for everyone who showed up. Bon voyage TJ......

Uh yeah, Cleaver is crazy. If memory serves, `twist` is a dragon set reverse swirling pdx mirage. And we`ll try to take good care of TJ when he gets over here.

oh man, it was so amazing being there to see that... I think it's also noteworthy that the atomic torque and the gauntlet were not only his firsts, they were his FIRST TRIES! It was NUUUUUUTS.

that little icing on the cake at the end made the event so much better.

yea this tournament was a load of fun! I got some crazy footage of Bevier! I also have the shred 30's and some of the sick tricks. Hopefully I can make a video or something. I played like garbage but had a blast! Peter is the best MC ever. Thanks to TJ for throwing this party down. Oh yea, and Dave is so stupid

! I had to leave because my parents were pissed off because they couldn't find the venue and were tired of hanging in philly. So, after I've been on the road for 20 minutes or so, I get a phone call, "yo, your never going to guess what I just hit. Atomic torque", "nice dave, thats sick" "gauntlet first try" , "what?!?!?!!?", "and flipside nemesis" , "You what?!?!? ewwwww. what the hell? sprained ankle my ass, your such a bastard"
