That was a nice spinning ducking osis. I like seeing a video of you hitting new stuff/skooling new concepts or pushing your game like this one. However, I also like to see h=nice long strings, which this one didn't have too much of. All in all, keep working hard. Its paying off and you're getting quite good.

Damn, sorry it took me so long t get back to you Ashley. Looks like you figured out how to upload it to shreditas.com perfectly - sweet! You even put it in the exact place that I would have, so I don't even have to move it. :-D Major Props for that alone!!! I'll have to get you to help me update the content one of these days to help keep it real. Well, only if you're interested or think it sounds fun.

ANyway...

You're game looks great! You looked balanced...like you're ready to push to another level. SOunds like you're working on that by trying to get longer strings. It's always a sacrifice...skooling new tricks to increase your difficulty or skooling length by working on linking your consistent tricks. I go back and forth...it's good to have length...but then it good to switch over and skool new tricks occassionaly so you can work them into your strings. So...since you're working on length, I'll give you some suggestions (take em or leave em)...I'm only mentioning them since you asked ;-)

for me, when i start pushing length, I need to focus on my breathing. I tend to clench my hands and hold my breath when I'm pushing my game. You'll drop every time if you don't make a conscious effort to breathe during long runs. sound simple and obvious I know, but a lot of people need it pointed out to them before they realize that they're doing it. I don't know if you're plagued by the same problem, but I thought I'd mention it and if you think it applies, make sure you take breathes in the middle of your runs.

I know you rock at pixie and whirl stuff...I wouldn't worry about those not showing up in this particular video. as your strings get longer, they'll be in there...

can't remember if you planted in any of your butterflies, but if you did, don't ;-)
and I know you can do a ton of them, but still skooling infinities (try to get 100 consecutive) will help your string length with out a doubt. it will build up your endurance, force you to breathe and it will just make your game stronger. Peter Irish gave that advice to Alex once and Alex gave it to me. We've both benefited from that piece of advice.

I love your zooming osis - aren't they fun? one of my favorite combos. i like to do zooming spinning osis - you should bust that. or did you in the vid?... i'll have to go watch it again.

A comment from alex that I'll toss in here in case you're interested. (he was watching over my shoulder) try to be more aware of your hands/arms and how they effect your style. yeah, i thought that seemed a little ambiguous, but I think you know what he means...you can learn a lot by watching someones arms/hands. just think of a player who's style/form you really like. watch their upper body and try to incorporate that into your game. the upper body is a really important part of your game. I"ll try to be more specific in another post or email...i just wanted to write something while I had a few minutes to spare.

We've been hella busy because Alex and I just bought a new house!!!! :-D :-D :-D We've finally unpacked most of our stuff, so I should be easier to reach now. I'm glad you figured out how to get your vid posted before I could get to it!!!! YOU ROCK!!!

We have hella shred space at our new place...even space for net too!

see ya, jane

I thought I'd chip in on the string length advice -- what really helped me was completely owning BOP. Every session do a -ton- of BOP. Not just one touch and stuff, but mix it up and stay very both sided. Do drills like pdx mirage>ss butterfly>pdx mirage>butterfly>repeat, or butterfly>butterfly>osis>repeat... ss butterfly>osis>repeat is a great one. Be able to get a lot of reps on these. Also, it's futile to school it for an entire session. If you start every session with these for a while, after a couple of sessions your consistency will skyrocket.

Also, Jane -- awesome!!! Maybe I'll have a chance to see it on June 10? 8)

Your so awesome Ashley! I love that you've come so far since you've been in Florida. I saw a sneak preview of your vid when I was at Sam's in LA, it was awesome ( ;-) pretty hot when you're not being the macho shredita ;-) )

Can't wait to see you get on to the fundamental fives. Blurry whirls will be easy for you for sure. Just practice freezing your ripwalks. Everything was great though. Try to plan a trip to Europe (even if your parents have to come) by worlds in Germany the latest. You have to play with the insane polish and austria chicks, and if it's worlds, Carol will be there too. You gotta get with them and push the envelope.

Peace girl, more crappy webcam productions please, they we're greatly missed.

Wow, good shit.

My fav combo was spinning osis to diving clipper. Have you hit that combo repeat? That`d be sweet.

This may sound strange, but your style kinda reminds me vaguely of old Rippin` footage. Have you seen much? You should go to www.dallas.footbag.org (not sure if thats the exact link) and download all the Rippin` footage you can.

Very big props. You and Lise are really pushing the envelope.

Wow, major props. I like your style and it seems like you're moving in a good direction. Like Matt said, I'd like to see more Atomic stuff too.
