dude if you don't get accepted to your other choices, or this changes your mind, I play footbag at UVM. I'm not amazing, really solid tiltless getting quickly into BOPS, but aside from that, the people there pretty much only kick with a clipper or jester every once in a while. I've only found one kid who knows who vasek is . Either way, I would love to have someone new up at the University. So whatever you decide, good luck!

my head lifeguard lost my favorite bag
so i made a new one:

it doesn't compare just yet, but in a few days it'll break in a bit, as often my bags do, and it'll be mad good, i can't wait!
and good news!
starting to hit (strong) WHIRL and (op) clipper very consistently... whirl not as much as clipper, but still, progress!

i went to the city today, and played w/ NYFA... which was sick
definitely a change from just doing my own little shreds 10 min each 3 times a day... i personally don't think they help much
but when you get to play with a whole group and get commentary, insight, and tips.... its invaluable.
i played with: Bruce, Waylon, Pascal, Barrett (happy 23'rd bday!), um... somebody with a D in their name ( i was warned to stay away from him when he's got the bag, cuz he does alot of kicks to try to recover the bag, and on occasion hits somebody... not me today tgd), and somebody else who i forgot her name (sry*).
i need to fix:
-posture
-clipper cushion
-aim shoulders when osis, and look over shoulder
-drill op mirage and op illusion
-drill op atw and pixie/fairy b/c i have none at all
-to rails on my shoes... they're too closed
otherwise it was a great session (4 hours! omg... i'm exhausted) and i hit alot of really nice tricks imo.
didn't really hit any new tricks, but still getting better at older and new"er" ones.
all in all, a great session. and i plan on playing w/ them next weekend.

Bryce, it was great kicking with you this weekend. It's really fun to see people shredding it up from out of town and playing with us hackers here in NYC.
If I sounded a bit too critical about your form, I'll have to apologize for that. I tend to get a bit obsessive about proper form because I feel like my form sucks a bunch, and I end being critical of others as well. However, I try my best to have fun in footbag, and that's what really counts most of all.
The last two people you don't know the names of are Darryl Kasper and Katya Sorokina. They're oldschool NYFAites that rarely come out to kick. It's actually a special occasion to have them show up for the session that you came to attend.
I don't really have much to add right now. Just watch a lot of footbag videos and mimic what the experienced players do. Then you'll get good WAY FAST. You're definitely going on the right track, and I'll anticipate your attendance at the next NYFA session.

"Footbag can be pretty frustrating when it's supposed to be fun. I was partly driven by this forum - practice, practice, practice... As that is true, I think someone can be too focused on progressing and training that they miss the fun aspect of it." - Bander87

so i started a challenge me thread in challenges...
and after trying my challenges... i quickly took my name off the intermediate circle competition for the NYC tourney in 2 weeks.
it looks as if i have a long way to go before i become truly truly tiltless
meaning... of course i need to fix my clippers, like get them down pat, no problem and my op illusion before going on to trips
...i forgot how much practice is involved in this sport...

went to the city today... cuz it rained yesterday
but only waylon and bruce showed up... oh well
so a 2 hour session with 3 people isn't too bad i guess (i was tired afterwards anywho)
HIGHLIGHTS:
SMUDGE twice
smear
fixed/learned better ducking technique
hit flip atomic set (woowoo!) and learned better form for atomic set (thanks waylon)
oh yeh, and ALMOST HIT FLIP ILLUSION! omg so close
i'll play alot more once i get back to school up in geneseo, cuz i'll have a steady playing partner (chris dean, if he's still up there)
god i can't wait to go back

feelin a lot better today, had an actual solo shred session, not like the bunch of mini sessions i've been having all summer. i even took a one shot stephen barnes challenge... didn't do very well, but i do get to show off my hot bod in my bike shorts.
i'm getting kind of frustrated with flip atw and pixie, i feel like i should be able to do it, but its so very very hard, i need help.
and here's the one shot:
