Actually I think it was Peter Irish who named gyro drifter rake (vortex rake) snowflake. But I cuold be wrong, it's a pretty uncommon move. Props for hitting any drifter-xbod-rake trick, they're all hard

Drifter Crossbody Rake has been known as Drake by some, but Carol Wedemeyer called it Swerve, and I've never seen anybody use that trick as much or as well as Carol. In this case I'd tend to follow Carol's lead.

Swerve is similar to Jughandle: I would say their relationship is analoguous to the relationships between osis and gyro clipper, with Swerve being like the osis version, and Jughandle being the gyro clipper version. They are, like, almost the same move, with the difference coming down to the timing of the final contact: do you catch before you spin (Swerve) or do you catch after you spin (Jughandle). Does that make sense?

I believe you also catch the bag on the other side of the toe.

so a left leg dexing swerve is caught from the inside on the left foot stall and the jug handle would be caught from the right.

also swerve is a rake and jug is a stall, though I suppose it can be raked

I'd compair it to cross body rake and toast(gyro toe)

alright well I'm lost

I thought Jughandle was a miraging inspinning toe done all downtime, like a torque bailed to op toe.

It's an insanely hard move that I've never hit despite many attempts.
Drake / Swerve is a lot easier than jughandle as it's a miraging ingyro toe.

Anyway that was my understanding

I haven't hit it... yet. 8 P I'm hoping too before March or April but I have to work the shit out of my flipside first. And yes it would be a cross-body rake. Example: Set> Right leg dex from in to out> crossbody rake the bag with right foot toe.

Ok, I'm not sure what this trick it called, but it is similar to an ATW.

INSIDE > SAME IN/OUT [DEX] > SAME INSIDE [DEL]

Could it be called a non-crossed body swirl (

), or does it have some other name?

Hi Tomi,
Welcome to modified.

It's still called an ATW, just "inside to inside" ATW. Obviously a little harder than a normal ATW. Great practice for swirls or reverse swirls

(depending on which direction you dex).

Now if only I could do that same dex in the swirl position.. Oh well, I'm to new at the sport to be trying swirls yet anyway (I can only do basic stalls, clippers, mirages, illusions, and sometimes a butterfly)

it's like a stepping atomic opposite butterfly
and this one : clip>op in>op out>>same out>clip , not like a blurriest but like a stepping atomic same butterfly .

Whats whirl caught on an inside delay called (instead of catching it in a clipper)?
And does it get a pdx add if its set from the opposite clipper like pdx whirl?

It's a Mirage caught on Inside Delay. So, if set from Far Clipper, yes, it gets Pdx.

The difference between jughandle and swerve is not analagous to the difference between gyro clipper and osis. The difference is analagous to the difference between rake and gyro toe. jughandle is miraging far gyro (or ingyro, same thing) toe, swerve is miraging far rake.

max, seems like you've got a little misunderstanding about what's what.

I remember the New Paltz Jam. Sunil and Peter were pounding beers every time Ryan Thomas hit jughandle.
