Hi.
Hmm...just got done playing again. I played less than I usually do...too tired to hit much after so long. Still just working on the basics...trying to make my strings longer. My Mosher bag is so dying. The patches are falling off, and I watched about 3 or so beads fall out today, so I switched to a Sandman. It was like I wasn't hitting crap, and then I started hitting more. Am I not advanced enough for a 32, yet, or what? Maybe a little change is good here and there. Or maybe Mosher really is dead.
So sad to see my first 32 go. Sniff. Haha. I've kinda been reading around here, and my next bag will probably be Abshire or Clavens. Maybe Fearless 55. Any suggestions? I'm leaning more toward Abshire. No offense, Dave. I actually kind of took your word about a longer lasting one or something like that. I'm getting better still. I got footage, but I dunno if I will make a video or not. Not in the mood at the moment. I want to play more and more, but I gotta save some energy for the weekend.

I think it's funny that I hadn't seen that but wrote the exact same thing in my blog. I hope you don't take it as any offense though Chrissy, because I definitely see the perks of having a kid. You must be having such a fantastic time! I know you know about how my best friend has a 2-year-old; I absolutely adore them and I see how much loving fun they have together. I try to spend as much time with them as I can and I still surround myself with children on occasion, I just don't know how I could manage it full time. I have SO MUCH respect for you- how do you do it? Work AND school AND footbag AND traveling AND the odd tournie AND socializing??? With a toddler?! You're Superwoman!Thank you for reminding me again why I don't want to have kids any time soon.![]()

No offense taken for either of you. Kids are fun. I've always loved to hang out with my lil' cousins at parties and stuff. I think I still hang out with the kids more than adults anywhere I go like that. And I wonder why all the adults leave me out of the conversations when I join them...ha! Yeah, me and my sister were talking about that during one of our last family get-togethers. We are adults now, but we are still the kids and treated like them...still shoved to the kiddie table at dinner! Haha. Anyways, it is not so fun being with kids--better yet, being a mom--full-time all the time, but yeah. I miss my days not having a kid, being able to do just about anything, anytime, but that's not how it is now, and I find other ways to do so. Sometimes I dunno how I do it. Haha. But thanks.
Just keep teaching those kids footbag (Camille), and Kayleigh will compete with them one day. Haha. She was so cute the other day. I forgot to mention it...instead of putting the bag on her foot and just flinging it off, she starts hopping around and clapping once its on her foot...and off. She's getting better! Oh. And she progressed with juggling, too. She used to grab two balls and move them up and down in a juggling motion. Now she throws them in the air.

So I finally played footbag with the Pittsburgh guys and Tripp and his cousin yesterday. It was fun. I almost wasn't able to go at the last minute, because my mom wanted her car after telling me I could use it. She can be so complicated sometimes. Then I woke up with a horrible headache. I just chilled some and hoped that it would go away. It did.
I also got my fireworks fix. I have had the worst luck at seeing some these last few years. I went up to Pa to see Crabtree's awesome fireworks. They were indeed awesome. Forgot how awesome they were. Yes!
Oh. And about yesterday...apparently I haven't been hitting drifter this whole time. I've been hitting something like reverse refraction or dada curve or something. I hit a trick with my "drifter", and Ian asked what it was, cuz it looked cool. I told him drifter, and he was like noooo. He gave me some tips on it, and I tried it out. Didn't hit it, but I got the idea. I should have it down next session.
It is nice to kick with people every once in a while. I am glad it all worked out alright. Even if I had that headache, I was gonna go anyways just to take the one chance I had.
EDIT: Oh yeah. I totally forgot to say that I went to the drive-in with my sis and her work friends Friday night. Saw the Dark Knight and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Both were awesome, plus they were at a drive-in. I love those things. I didn't hear all of the Dark Knight, cuz Kayleigh was sleeping, and we turned the volume down a little lower than I could follow along on every word. Still awesome, and I love Heath. Kayleigh took a power nap and was wide awake at 1 or so in the morning for the second movie. It was cool...a couple of cheesy remarks or whatever, but whatever.

Woot! Played some footbag today. It is only a little after lunchtime, too. Kind of played to be in the morning sun to get a tan, but it's supposed to rain today. Oh well. Still played. Had to sit down a lot more. Don't know if it was the sun or the morning or maybe I only had cereal in my body.
Matt Cross advised me to work on my toe stalls and clippers, so that is pretty much what I did. I worked on not scooping my toe stalls up. I worked on catching higher and setting straight up. I did it and saw a huge difference in my game...I hit over 10 legovers BTB! Yay! I also hit mir>ss mir rpt times a bunch. I just kept going. For my clippers, I worked on hopping higher and landing with the bag. I felt like I was stomping around like a newb. I caught on pretty well, though. I didn't get to working on many tricks with clippers to see much difference. I was too tired, and Kayleigh was interrupting. My godmother might watch her tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes.
I also worked on drifter as I promised. I think I hit it strongside. It's hard to tell by myself. I almost got the motion down. I still find it amusing how I thought I've been hitting it all this time. And I wondered why people I knew were better than me were struggling at it at some time. Haha. That's why. This is one good reason why solo kickers should either post videos for feedback, or better yet, kick with others in person. I bet I do a lot of stuff wrong...well geez! look at my clippers and toe stalls!
Alright, well I'm off to shower and feed us lunch. I think Panera Bread is calling me. Yum yum.

OH...I'm really thinking about going to play in that park today (I mentioned this somewhere on Modified...). Part of me is wanting to punk out, but NO! I think I'm gonna do it.
Yikes.
EDIT: Whew! That was fun. I only played for about an hour. I wanted to play more, but I didn't want to overexert myself so that I couldn't drive the 30 minutes home...alone.
Hmm...all good feedback for all that I've seen/heard. One guy said to do it off my head. One biker flew past saying that it looked hard. Two little girls approached me, but I HAD to sit down. I said hi and smiled. They walked off. I think they wanted to watch more, but I was exhausted for the moment. Lots of other people passed. One guy was watching me from a picnic table...atleast it seemed like it everytime I looked his way.
I busted pretty hard. I hit symposium mirage bsos a couple of times. I hit datw bsos, which shocked me. I was just like atw>atw>pause>datw>pixie>datw>pixie>footed datw. Cool. Over 10 legovers btb again. Long mirage>ss mirage strings again. Whirls and swirls bsos. My osii weren't too great today. Some days they are awesome, and other days they suck.
I asked Bobby Glasser to kick with me, but he wasn't in town. I gave him too short of any notice. Maybe next weekend could work out.
EDIT AGAIN: I also tried to hit ducking clippers btb. Only did 2 or 3 times.

Wow. Today was the first sucky session I've had in a long time. I actually turned the camera off before I really got to mirages and legovers (like the 2nd thing I work on after toe stalls and clippers every session). I was really looking forward to posting a new video, but uh Uh! I did manage to hit 3 ducking clippers in one string (not btb)...I dropped the 4th one. That's about it. I just couldn't hit crap for some reason, and I was dripping sweat. Eating a bunch of junk for breakfast and lunch probably helped that. But hey. I played. I plan on playing tomorrow. I wanted to play all week and technically had the time after work, but geez! It's been kicking my butt and making me so lazy! I am opening Monday through Friday this coming week. Woohoo! I've also decided to add some weight training to my schedule. I have been doing it for the last 3 nights. Abs every other day and I pick some exercise for a certain muscle group and do two sets to failure. My idea is to tone up or build endurance. What I did before bulked me up too much. I also want to cut out junk food, but that is not happening at this time of the month.
Atleast I didn't eat any fries or cookies at work! Those cookies are evil.

Haha. Sorry. It just really explains the story better?
Footbag was better today. I sat down on Excel...now officially a footbag geek, I guess...and made records and tricks to try files. This is what I have so far:

I worked on more than I recorded, but they weren't worthy enough to write down, or I forgot. I tried pixie clipper, because all I ever do is pixie toe stall. I realized it was a lot like drifter. In that case, I probably hit like pixie butterfly. These drifters are gonna suck since I already have the wrong motion down pretty strong. I did hit it again on my strongside, though, and came real close on my flipside. I attempted double switch-over like once, laughed, and went back to legovers. Too tired. I worked on datw and hit some more bsos with atws both ways and pixies. I can pretty much hit them within three tries now and can link them pretty well, which feels good. I want to work on datw in to out. I need to remember to work on illusions before I am too tired. La de da. I honestly didn't do too much today, but I did. I wore myself out too quickly. Plus, I had no shade to play in. And now my camera's battery went dead. I have some footage. You might see it later.

Wow...someone does not want me to play this weekend. Geez. Kayleigh was being a brat yesterday, and I had to cut my session short. She purposely played too close to me and even pushed her lawnmower at me from behind!
Today, I got called into work right when I was about to get ready to play, played afterwards, and then it rained on me. I played in the rain, though.
Then I busted my camera out after it dried up. I had some sweet strings, but...I don't know how much I captured because the tape ended before I knew it. Argh! The last awesome string I hit was a bunch of atws, legovers, mirages, butterflies, pdx mirages, and even symp mirages. BSOS! Like atleast 10 or 15 contacts. I went to mark my camera and decided to see how much battery power I had left, and the tape had already ended. Good session, though. I hit some different strings and stayed away from records and basics for the most part. I did hit 12 or 16 (I forgot how many) or so infinities in a row. It should be on camera. Oh. And while it rained, I used a different bag that I didn't mind getting wet and worked on sole stall>cross-body rake. I think I hit it each side. First time I ever tried cross-body rakes. It was cool. I'm soaked. Between the little time that I played today and yesterday, I hit some cool and different stuff than normal...some of it on camera and some, not. Oh well. Hope its worth a video. Oh. I also hit like butterfly>pickup>rpt a few times>butterfly>mirage>rpt a few times>osis>pdx mirage>other stuff??? I just kept going on that one.
I just checked my camera...I did get datw bsos on film and some pickup strings. Be ready for a video soon!

Good stuff!
Yeah it totally seems that someone or something is trying to stop you eh? Way to not let it break your stride!
haha I have played in the rain SO many times lately! I've been meaning to write about it but haven't really had the time... I will soon... but yeah- It won't stop pouring here, but I just never let it stop me.
I have some pretty sweet photos my friends took of me in shredding in the rain at drum circle... I was DRENCHED. haha

Can you see that? That's the Vasek look-a-like, but he's a little punk and doesn't work with me anymore.
