I can relate to how frustrating footbag can be; I'm sure most of us can. Playing footbag for fun is oftentimes easier said than done, but if you can make this a habit, it will really pay off. One thing that helped me put my footbag anger in check was reminding myself that I could be doing less fun things at that moment, such as homework or work. Remind yourself that you're doing your favorite thing in the world, and don't get hung up on specific goals. I've been playing for 10 years, and even now I will have sessions where a specific component isn't working well. I just omit it and work on other components. Over time everything will get to a better level. Don't give up man.

Wow, thank you Ken and Ben, these post of encouragemnt really do mean a lot to me. I'm glad other people care about how my footbag game is going outside of what i'm hitting.:) It has been helping me alot recently thinking about "doing less fun things at the moment", and not just in footbag.

-dyno>zooming osis>zooming ss clip>rpt
-flipside ripped warrior
-spinning/zooming osis X4
-pdx drifter bs
-toe set grifter bs, and I didnt have to start the illusion dex really really early, and I cut myself on my leg trying it
-gyro clipper X10
-dimwalk>blizzard>rpt first try so i thought it was to easy and went on to try...
-dimwalk>sidewalk>blizzard>rpt, took a while to do it with good clean sidewalks

my strings still suck

I still need a lot more variety.....and creativity

illusion are so much easier than mirages, and I think mirages are a vital part to a good freestyle game

I need to get my ass to a tournament

I haven't played with anybody in ages :(

yep, I'm pretty excited about it :)

I played about 2.5 hours tonight and my legs still feel great

my flip pixie has gotten so much better
and my strong side stepping felt sooooo easy
almost hit my first 6 add

still not working new concepts like I should

I'm starting to make a video, but it will probably be dissapointing

I have been waiting 2weeks and 2days for my shirt from usfootbag.com, I PM'd Chris Miller but havent got a response

None of my fellow Oklahomians want to play with me :(

Chris Miller is banned from the forum I believe. If you have AIM you can AIM him. PM me if you want his address.

Props on the six add! I can't wait to shred with you!

just some thoughts from today

Kansas was a lot different from what I had expected, it was small, but it was fun just because everything was so casual and laid back. I wish they would find a larger venue.

My legs started hurting early on, but I tried to play through it after I took some advil and stretched a lot.

I won the net competitions, but there was no one there that actually spent time practicing it or plays it on a regular basis, so there is nothing to be proud of as far as that goes

I got to play with a Clavens bag in hope that some sort of greatness would rub off

I played below average, but what pissed me off the most was that my steppings sets felt so weird. I didnt really have any control on them and ripped warrior felt harder than it did the first day I hit it

I dropped on a lot of stupid stuff, espicially tricks with osis/zooming

Footbag golf was pretty fun, a little better putting and I think I could have won it.

Kansas air felt great, it was so dry and it never really got that hot

Cody and Zac were cool, I just hope Cody doesnt keep neglecting his flipside

Thanks to my sunburn, I am now a true oklahoman redneck

It was fun to shred with you, even though none of us were really on it.

PM me if you ever want to come up and stay a weekend or something.

I'll get your bag to you in a few days probably.

:( -Wow, I have not played any footbag since my last post, I think thats like 18 days, that seems like a long time for me. There were actually a few days in my time off that I did a lot of thinking and got really depressed about everything, I cried for like 2 days straight at some point. That might make me sound like emotional freak, but seriously, it was very depressing.

now the good stuff... :) -Its too bad that video only got 10 comments, but at least all of the feedback was positive

-I have been contacting Louis, we might get to play this Sunday, thats exciting because I haven't seen him and Ben since December

-The new Ben Rea bag I received kicks ass

-Looking into Houston

- My knee feels so much better

-I'm going to try and play footbag today, I'll be surprised if I can even go tiltless, lol

I got to play with Louis and Ben, FINNALY!!!! Riverside is definetly a good place to play because of all the people that stop at the nearby water fountain, a great publicity spot for us

I played ok, there were some strings that felt really good that I was actually proud of. The only things I really remember though were
-a crazy run with whirl war, lots of spinning and osis stuff, and spinning pdx whirl bsos, although i didnt seal it
-pincher set toe stall first try 8)
-70 infinity, could have done more, except I didnt have the will power I didnt want my legs to burn any longer
-Nowhere close to hitting rubberman, or even the first 3 contacts, what happened to my atomic :?
-dropping on left osis a ton

Ben is still tearing it up with a few new trick that I haven't seen, I love all his symple swirl stuff, Louis said he took 5 months off, but you can't tell, I can't imagine how good he'd be if he had not taken such a long hiatus.

......uhh, thats pretty much it, today was the most fun I've had playing footbag in a long time, yah footbag!

Nice video. You and I have a similiar style, except you're probably better at frigid osis. Some of your runs looked like you had a good set and then you caught the bag. Don't stop...Never ever stop.

so I haven't posted anything in a long time, just an update

lifes pretty shitty right now, I haven't been playing much, and since my dissapointing performance in texas, I've played for about 20 minutes. So I didn't get an entry for that online comp, something that I've been looking forward to for a while, and I wanted to make a video but I haven't progressed any since June....... and outside of footbag, i'm falling behind in all my classes with so much freakin homework, barely surviving in the hardest english class I've ever had, too busy to do anything because of robotics and soccer, constantly feeling like I can't do anything right, in desperate need of cash, in pain half the time because my body seems to have become extremely brittle, in complications about what to do with this girl who is the only person at my school that I've ever really "felt-a-connection" with, and thinking too much about the "growing up" and leaving things and people behind(something that tends to make really really sad(, and sent me into a depression phase in September where all I did was cry for 4 days))

thats all, just shit that I wanted to write about even though I know that no one probably's gonna read it, maybe I'll start trying to get better at footbag so I can actually post somehting of worth

Hey man.

I'm sorry about all that, I hope things look up soon. Play footbag for fun, not for getting better (for now).

I'm sure everything will be fine.

I promise I read your blog. ;)
