I took my roomie on her first wilderness adventure. We walked 7-8 miles into yosemite saturday morning, and she was suffering all day. The altitude can really ruin a trip. She said she would do it again, even as bad as the first day was. After we set up camp by a lake, we scrambled out of the shadows and up the mountain to watch the sunset.
A multiridge bonus view we happened to see climbing into our viewing spot of the valley.

silhouette of the word famous yosemite valley in the distance.

We actually got into position earlier, but only one person
at a time could be on the edge of the cliff. I got this shot
earlier in the day on my turn.

well off trail, getting into the best viewing position
was narrow, steep, and very awakening.

This guy was just a quick sketch, but he tends to get a good reception. That's why I switched to cartoons from serious drawing.

Thanks man.
I've never really tried scenery sketching or whatever you want to call it, but I've drawn looking off my front porch (pretty cool view). I just found it really boring, nature ain't my thing.
And you're right, figure drawing models are rarely good-looking.
Although, the one in the very last drawing wasn't so bad. Even then, it's not like I go there to whack it. It's a drawing class, nothing more.
EDIT: Oh, and a fun fact - one of them was actually pregnant. Can you guess which?
