Re: Team Fortress 2

Made a couple good moves on unusuals this weekend.

First, I managed to trade my blizzardy plunger (which I wasn't going to use) plus a few keys to get a pair of clean buds. Always good to have pure, for trading purposes.

But the big news of the weekend, was that I finally traded the stormy headsplitter. It became redundant once I got the planets noble (I only wanted one All Class unusual), and honestly I was never crazy about how it looked. That's why I was thrilled when I was able to trade it (plus 10 keys) for...a disco beatdown private eye!

Screenshot:

Now my loadouts are:

Scout/soldier/pyro/engie: planets noble
Heavy: blizzardy luchador and dead presidents bear head
Medic/demo/spy: disco beatdown private eye
Sniper: skull hat

Super stoked on this.

I'm on a bit of a spending spree on hats lately...that one trade I did where I got and built the pro sniper kit, combined with my botkiller for unusual trade really gave my stocks a boost. I just wish TOD tickets would go back on sale...

Pure means offers in metal/keys/buds/bills. People want pure offers because they are the most liquid for trades. If I an selling an item for 10 keys, and somebody offers me 10 keys, that is a pure offer. If they offer me 5 keys plus other items worth 5 more keys, that is a mixed offer, since I'll have to resell their items to get the 5 keys of value.

B/O is buyout. That's their strike price, where you can just add them and get the item if you have that amount.
C/O is current offer.

How many pro kits have you found? I've completed 12 tours and only got one pro kit (which was for short circuit, so basically crap).

I've resigned myself to not finding anything good in 2 cities. I just like the maps and playing with friends, so that's why I do it now.

i think it was my 4th, i might build it one day, i'll wait untill i get enough spec kit done to see if i build it or sell it

so far with pro fab:
bison, charge n'targe, shovel, soda popper (deadly daffodill, singularity)

and i finished my spec rocket launcher :D i traded for parts. now, the only things i have to do is to complete some useless spec kit and sell them :D

so far, i have:
-spec silver botkiller scattergun
-spec SF Force-a-nature
-pro genuine FoW
-pro pistol
-pro sandman

-spec diamond botkiller rocket launcher

-spec wrench

-spec stickybomb launcher

and i have 8 more spec fab that i don't NEED but might build in a long run

i wish i could find more pro fab kits to build up for me

That was cool seeing your pro FOW effect last night. I'm glad we got to do a mission together. I'm now down to my last TOD ticket, so when I complete this Tour I may take a bit of time off from MVM.

This past week I worked the unusual trades really hard, and had a ton of turnover with my hats/stocks. I finally sold my stormy headsplitter, which I had been trying to move since I acquired it. I got a cheap unusual for a single botkiller. I sold that off for a bud, then I bought another crappy unusual for keys and almost immediately had buyer's remorse (hottie's hoodie, planets). Last night I managed to move that hat and the bud to get a new hat. But now, I think the dust has finally settled and I'm set with my unusuals for the near future.

 Scout/Soldier/Pyro: all sharing an Orbiting Planets Noble Amassment. My cheapest and least interesting unusual, but at least its an all-class, and it has a certain classic elegance.
 Medic/Demo/Spy: all sharing the Disco Beat Down Private Eye. Probably my favorite overall unusual. Easily my favorite effect, and I like that 3 classes can wear it. The base hat isn't amazing, but it's not bad either.
 Heavy: Blizzardy Luchador and Dead Presidents Bear Head. I like both hats, and they go well together. Since I main Heavy, I'm happy that I have a dual unusual effect for him. The bear head is probably my favorite base hat.
 Engie: Arcana Engineer's hat, black and level 99. The base hat is pretty plain, but better than a lot of engie hats. The effect though, is my second favorite that I have (after DBD). From this year's Halloween effects, I'd say Arcana is my second favorite after Hellfire, so I was really excited to get a hat with this effect.
 Sniper: I generally don't like unusuals on sniper, since I don't like having attention drawn to them. I could use the planets noble, but I mostly just stick to the spine twisting skull really.

I feel pretty set and happy with my current unusual setups. I still have 9 keys and $35 in the market, so I could make a play at a cheap pyro/soldier hat if one came up. Really though, I feel happy where I'm at, since the classes I play the most have nice hats. Just wanted to take a snapshot of my current unusuals at this point in time.

i just had an idea, i will sell the pro soda popper fab kit on the market to buy a pro rescue ranger fab kit and build it. since i really love to play that class in Mannhatan, the rescue ranger is a must imo

i put my sentry near the offensive line and i take it out when it's about to get destroyed to repair it and then put it back for maximum damage. i just uploaded a screenshot today on steam, i couldn't believe that i was leading in damage as engy. and we kept getting pushed back and failed many waves, that's why i quit the game.

on another note, i'd like to be there for your last misson, you don't have to wait for me, but i'll let you know tomorrow when i'll do the other rottenberg

I'd like you to show/teach me how to use the rescue ranger. That's one of my favorite parts of MVM...figuring out how to use weps which are often useless in normal TF2 to great effect against robots.

I actually finished it before I read your post (I got crap, as usual). In good news though, I bought/traded 3 tickets. So I think I'll end up doing another 2 Cities this weekend.

Wow. Hard to beat. I did once see a guy get a golden knife and a pro sniper rifle in the same round, and on his previous tour he had gotten a golden scatter. So there's that.

I havent done MVM in a while. I have 3 missions left to complete another tour, but only 2 tod tickets.

another tour done, still no australium :(

BUT, i received a pro kit for eyelander, incinerator, emerald.

so, i will build it up and put it on the market, gonna try to sell it so i can get 30$ or 35$ :D . There is no incinerator at all on the market right now, the cheapeast is 25$ and they usually sell between 28$ and 45$. i think it's possible to sell at that price.

but first, i will get as many parts as possible before to build anything in case that i get something better. since i don't need parts anymore because i don't need anything else. i also got a spec ham shank fab kit.

Props on earning a pro kit. I've done 13 tours, and only gotten one as a drop (and it sucked).

Spent 16 keys and headshots part to acquire a pro kit for minigun, which was 80% completed. I built it tonight, and am testing the market for it. It's a good color and effect:

Cheapest non-hypno beam on the market is $86, so I'm tempted to sell it there, but I'm also feeling out my trade website to see if I can't get an unusual for it. I think if I can't move it on either site by Monday, I'll just use it myself, since I main heavy in both MVM and normal tf2.

I was really kinda hoping this would be the case, and I'd be forced to use it. Instead, somebody paid $90 for it on the market, which means I got $80. Wow. Considering I paid about 23 keys to get it and make it ($57), that's not a bad profit. Especially since you can buy keys at less than $2.49 on the market.

In other kit news, I bought a spec sniper rifle kit for a key and a ref today, and sold it for $5.08 on the market. I also completed a tour where I got a spec scattergun, which I'm building now and plan on selling. I think my plan is going to be to keep an eye on the market and buy keys when they are around $2.40, and eventually get back in the market for an unusual for soldier or pyro.

:D

i don't know what i'll do with the money, but i'll probably buy a good pro fab and build it

Completed my 17th tour of 2 Cities yesterday. Thought it would be illuminating and depressing at the same time to take stock of my loot over these 17 tours.

 Number of australium weapons: 0
 Number of professional fabricators: 1 (short circuit...so may as well be 0)
 Number of kits for apoco fists and sharp dressers: 3
 Number of good kits: 5 (ks grenade launcher, spec scattergun, spec degreaser, spec black box, spec natascha)

Pretty sorry haul for 17 tours. :(

I will finish my 28th tomorrow. Last pro kit i got was for wrangler and i pit the fab on the market and i got 10$ for it. With the money, i decided to buy a SF eyelander to put my pro kit on it and bought a grenade launcher spec fab. I built it and put it on my festive GL. Since i mainly play demo, i keep everything and might sell it one day.

On another note, i would live to get a pro fab/kit for my strange pan. They are very expensive put they will get cheaper soon and i might buy one.

On another note, i re-looked at collector's set' prices and i'm trying to get all the sandmans needed to get one. The sets are under 15$ so it's very doable to get the money by playing mvm. I'm at 68 right now. I started to get them only on saturday night. Scrap.tf does 1 for 1 on weapons. I sold 6 ugly/useless hats to get many refined. I might be able to have one by the end of the week. I will put a pro kit on it too :-D.

I will buy more tickets tomorrow, probably another 6 tours.

When i'll be done eith mvm, i think i will have a pretty goood backpack.

Unusual snapshot for posterity. Here's where I'm at with my classes:

 Scout: No unusual. Considering I mostly play MVM these days, and I don't play MVM scout, not a big deal. My loadout is spine twisting skull with track terrorizer and breakneck baggies.
:arrow:Soldier: Aces High Defiant Spartan. Probably my 3rd favorite soldier hat (after Kabuto and Chieftain), with one of my favorite effects. Very classy hat. Now I just need to play more soldier.
:arrow:Pyro: Blizzardy Vintage Merryweather (white). Like the base hat, and the effect goes well with the paint color combined with the Last Breath. Probably my lowest tier unusual, but I still like it alot.
 Medic/Demo/Spy: all sharing the Disco Beat Down Private Eye. Probably still my favorite overall unusual, mostly due to it being my favorite effect. Also like that 2 of my better classes (demo and medic) can wear it.
 Heavy: Blizzardy Luchador and Dead Presidents Bear Head. I like both hats, and they go well together. Since I main Heavy, I'm happy that I have a dual unusual effect for him. I also like using the luchador with non unusual hats, and having people ask how I have an unusual gibus/skull/etc.
 Engie: Arcana Engineer's hat, black and level 99. Second favorite effect after DBD, and for a class I use in Manhattan more often than not. Think it's 1 of 1 in the world too, which is kinda cool.
 Sniper: I generally don't like unusuals on sniper, since I don't like having attention drawn to them. Spine twisting skull with the veil makes for a cool skull face, so I'm happy with that as my loadout.

I'm down to 3 keys and like $15 in my Steam wallet, so I'm likely set with my unusuals for the forseeable future. The only way that'd change would be if I managed to trade a bunch of my current hats for an all-class I like, but I don't see that being very likely. I think I'll just keep doing MVM and see if I can't generate more funds off of that.
