I like it. I think the key will be figuring out when to start rotating your hips on the spin. I think there needs to be more rotation, though I have no idea when that motion needs to start (ie do you begin the gyro spin during the whirl, or after).

There definitely needs to be more rotation. I haven't really given it much thought yet. I tried that set about ten times yesterday, and about ten times the last time I played when I thought i'd invented it, but that was the first week of January. Managed to hit whirling gyro blender during that session. Could barely see the bag for whirling swirl yesterday. I need to get back in the groove for Vegas, but knowing myself, I probably won't play again until then.

Planned out my summer hikes around family trips today. Was going to cut off 10 miles of a hike taking mountain goat trails until I saw this video of the exact same route: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnMYdyq4fkw&sns=em

May still try it but I don't want to die yet. There's a cool Montana panorama a few hours from my stomping grounds at the end

Was just watching my old videos and I need to get bac into footbag. I used to be able to do some neat stuff like tomahawk swirl and long strings. Now I suck. Can't even do 20 tiltless. I would like to change that but no one in missoula really plays anymore and it sucks playing solo. I've footed some funny things drunkenly in pants tho recently like spinning ripstein. I can't even do a normal ripstein except for once in a video from 8 years ago. Need to start playing more. I'm getting fat. Tried a 50 chicken mcnugget challenge today and got to 43. If I wasn't at work, I totally could've finished it. Didn't want to puke at work tho

Bro, I'm a huge fan of your game and style. I also play solo (for the vast majority of the time). Yesterday I was watching your video that you did in your house, it's like sepia or black and white or something and I was thinking how great that shred was and still is today. Hope you get back into it seriously. Oh yeah, one of my favorite footbag memories include you bro. In that circle with you and Penske and I in Orlando and you were just doing osis B2B for like 70 hours. As a newb, and never seeing shred live before, that was SO impressive. Yeah, you NEED to get back in to footbag.

Lots of things going on. I'm taking another break from drinking due to alcohol dependency issues. I've always been a pretty heavy drinker but the last 2 years have been out of control. I'm 20 lbs above my natural weight... all fat, no muscle. Started running. Ran a bit last week. Ran 4 miles yesterday morning and 6 or 7 miles last night. Still haven't really kicked other than trying a trick here and there for Erik Chan. Trying to eat healthy but I've been consuming lots of grilled steaks and cheeseburgers because it's summer. I deleted my facebook last night which means I'll have no idea what's going on with the footbag community which sucks, but kept my music page for monthly music challenges. Woo! Here's to life changes.

You can do it, man. Just drill like twice a week. you'll lose the fat and get back to where you were with footbag before you stopped. I'd like to see you playing again. Also, the funny trick como is up and running! Submit something!

I've been flyfishing a shit load. It's been good. Almost got charged by a cow moose 2 weeks ago after hiking into a lake. She was pretty pissed I invaded her turf. I had to keep yelling to try and scare her off. Went with a girl I hung out with freshman year of college and pseudo dated 10 years ago but haven't seen since. She was slaying the fish.

Saw a grizzly bear eating a bison. that was pretty fucking terrifying.

Played footbag the other day outside. Haven't kicked outside in over a year. Hit torque>alpine scorps tail to start a string. That was chill. The rest of the session was all bops and tiltless

Got back yesterday afternoon from a week in the Northeast for the Salsa Shoedown Yeaooodown. It was lots of fun and good to actually go to an event and hang out with kickers. Ate a lot. Kicked a lot. Here are a few unorganized thoughts:

-Bob and his family were awesome hosts. They even had baskets of towels and shred soap for the bathroom
-It was cool to meet a bunch of new people and hang with old friends. I didn't get a chance to hang out with Polini or John Goode much, but spent a good amount of time with Bijan, Boats, and Cass which ruled.
-I've been at a tourney with Matthieu and Ianek before but had never talked to them. Shredded with Matthieu quite a bit. We had a weird trick session friday night that was a blast. Ianek is going to come to Montana over the Summer for hiking and camping. They both also had very kind things to say about my footbag which was nice
-Its fun playing with people that do interesting tricks. This ended up being about half the people at the jam :D
-Yogurt City was awesome. Waiting to eat it until after dinner was a smart move.
-It was great seeing Ben Little and his wife again
-Hogan and Bowler are hilarious. They brought laughter with essentially every word they spoke.
-I give terrible passbacks
-started a string with spinning ducking non-rooted zoid. Tried a bunch of other weird tricks too. Some successful, some not. Hit spinning ducking pdx torque as well which was fun
-Massages are chill
-Probably ate about 10 or so hot dogs over 2 days at the event site
-"Too many cooks"
-Ianek gave me the power to choose a youtube video while they were watching shred. I chose a food competition video because I can only handle watching so much footbag. Ianek was disgusted and left. lol
-Faygo was a thing that was consumed. Woot Woooot!
-It was good to see Penske again. He is one of the footbaggers I've hung out with the most outside of Missoula other than James Randall since starting footbag. We joked around the whole time.
-Putting in a random blank VHS expecting to see one of Bobs family vacations, and seeing an old Pocatello Idaho tourney instead with lots of Paul Mestas footage as well as it being Jims first tourney. There was also footage of his brother Boone.
-Matt K has perfect form. His shred is hypnotic.
-I was genuinely surprised to place top 3 in the official and unofficial events. I think having no expectation to play well helped out.
-Nerf gun wars are lots of fun
-"This is for the shorties"

The tourney inspired me to make 2 new purchases when I got back to Missoula. A french press and sweat pants. I haven't owned sweatpants since elementary school. It's like having your legs hugged by thousands of fluffy clouds. Why do I even own any other type of pant?

Sweatpants are the best. Hotdogs in Copenhagen are awesome (thus you should come to Worlds). Looking forward to see some real footage of your game.

Sounds like a great tournament. Thanks for the write-upness.

I have had some of those Danish style hotdogs in Chile. Hotdogs (completos) are a big deal in Chile too. I would like to have the real deal in Copenhagen.

The time for winter hiking is here. I've been getting out in the woods a lot. I can hike over a mountain to work if I walk by this canyon near my house first, so that's pretty chill. Should be snowshoe weather in about a month.

Ate a bunch of black bear today
Ate a bunch of elk yesterday
Ate a bunch of deer the day before that

Haven't kicked since Boston. But hiking rules.
Been playing dominos every day.
Life's good.
So is pizza.

I've never had black bear or elk. Good I assume?

My Grandpa liked the expression "I'm so hungry, I could eat the asshole out of a bear.". I think if I ate black bear I'd be thinking about asshole the whole time.

You know one of the things I miss about Montana? Huckleberries. Eat some huckleberries for me.

Also, I think we talked about the book behind this documentary at the jam:
