When I flew into O'Hare on the 16th we circled in the air for 30 minutes because there was no place for us to land. Then we landed. Then we sat for "an hour" because there were no free gates. Then they de-iced our plane and said that they were still working on a gate. Then a gate opened up and more than half an hour later we pulled up to it. I was told that over 200 flights out of O'Hare were canceled due to the weather and that I was lucky to get in at all.

Directions from airports to McCormick Place & Hyatt (event site and hotel, connected by a magical tunnel):
Arrivals at O'hare will want the Blue Line
The Blue Line station is built into the airport. When you arrive, follow the signs marked Trains to City.
There are fare card vending machines at the station - fares are $2 one way, first transfer is $0.25, and second transfer is free. So you'll need at least $2.25 but it is a good idea to put $5 or $10 on it now.
All trains from O'hare head the same direction, so it doesn't matter which one you get on.
There are plenty of attendants at the station so just ask them if you have any questions.
Take the Blue Line to the Jackson station. You'll be transferring to the Red Line.
When you exit the Blue Line you'll be on a subway platform. There will be signs with Red Line and big arrows on them, pointing down into a tunnel. Head down the stairs into the tunnel, then go up the stairs, and you'll be on the Red Line subway platform. Ta da!
Jump on the Red Line to 95th Street. You'll know it's heading to 95th, because there will be signs on every car and an automated voice saying "This is a Red Line train to 95th Street".
Get off the Red Line at the Chinatown stop. Take the #21 bus to McCormick Place (East bound, fyi, or for those of you with compasses). Then you'll be there! Go check in an at the hotel you crazy kids.
By the way, there will be another automated voice calling out the stops. When it calls out "McCormick Place" pull on the cord running the length of the bus to request a stop.
Arrivals at Midway - take the Orange Line towards the Loop. All the Orange Lines from the airport head in the same direction.
Just like O'hare, you'll want to put money on a fare card, and there will be attendants if you have questions. Fares are the same as I wrote above so refer back to that.
Take the Orange Line to the Roosevelt stop. This is an el train, you'll have to go down some stairs to exit the station.
Walk three blocks East towards Indiana Ave. The bus stop is on Roosevelt, between Michigan and Indiana. There will be signs, but you'll need to be on the South side of the street (if you are walking East, the South is on your right).
The bus you are looking for is the #3 King Drive to 95th. Your stop is McCormick place. There will be an automated voice calling out your stop, pull the cord & get dropped off.
I hope this doesn't seem complicated, just want to give you all as detailed directions as I can.
