that was during a quick session before work .
i also played around with gyro a lot, gyro clipper is a useful piece of
equipment and tons of fun to do.
it made me hit the best looking and most effortless g mirages/pick ups ever.

playing before work felt so great, i almost called in to tell em that i
wont come, so i just had to have another after work .
i was messin around mostly, trying this and that, mildly chaotic .
i felt smart giving my close to deceased flip pixie a shaky
resurrection, footed flip pixie paradon a few times .
then some symp whirls...i begin to understand the works here...

between all this and -god, do i hate that word - footing vortex countless
times, i went for some good old trophy drills, that werent mine then .

i also had some good runs, containing my newer elements and links,
some of that stuff felt really great, i cant wait till i got something like
a string length !
if anybody got tips on getting a consistent string length without the
runs looking boring, feel free to tell me :D

Some new drills :

paradon>ducking pdx mir b2b

gyro clip>spin clip rpt

diving clip>spin clip>duck clip rpt

spin clip>whirl bsos

crappy condition session :

i want to call it "unproductive" session, but at the beginning i did good skooling osis, gyro>dive and butterflies.
trouble started when i couldnt hit the easieat drills . i switched to runs,
they all started out well, then ended apruptly due to low concentration and crappy balance . so i tried some drills that one should only try on energetic
days, and this was more like a phlegmatic night.
i ended up footing both vortex too many times and kinda lost the plot there.
a two day break will be the thing to have here...

ducking mirage>ss dlo>rpt ; ss dlo>d.mir rpt ; phoenix>spin clipper 1.try ;
gyro clip>diving clip bs ; quantum legover>ss dlo bs -
i couldnt rpt the last two for the life of me :?

diving clip>spin clip>duck clip rpt
I totally didn't see these drills! Sick!

Hey man,

great to read all your mad progress. I can't wait to see you in action again.
Thank you for the all the nice stuff you said (and wrote) at our wedding,
I'm so flattered. It's great that you still came even though it was so late.

I'm so glad to know you, and I can't wait to shred with you again, let alone taste your cooking skills!! ;)

Cheers, see you next monday hopefully (my legs are totally burnt since
I work 11 hours a day and I'm on my feet all the time). I'll bring
some photos.

:D tell ma as soon as youre ready - i cant wait !

today i had a hangover session, i played like crap but it didnt annoy me or anything - after the riotious extacy of yesterdays drinking adventure i just
felt the need to do something that my body really appreciates .

all chaos aside, i worked on some drills that'll help me to connect/integrate
the new elements into my shred . everything felt easy and relaxed, some
really kool dexles and dbl dexes . other shit that took more concentration
like bsosing tapping pick>atom just didnt happen today.

some mini stuff :

atomic muted clipper>drfiter bs
ss butter>spin clip>stepping leg>rpt crappy string
ss butter>spin clip>diving mirage bs, almost rpt
spin clip>spin mirage bs

i didnt last long today, i hope to have a full shred thang 2morrow :P

Revenge Session : the second big pay back !

i got together with the almighty Beatrix for some shreddage yesterday.
although she didnt last long, Bea never fails to impress - she kinda made
a big and sexy leap towards creativity and learning new trix/links,
she's the best . muted shmoe>beta dimwalk>wtf ?

i was in good shape, and if there had been a more battletastic and energetic
vibe, this one woulda been glorious .
i felt a lot of trix . gyro tells me how much work my spins need .
my legs bled out a lot of good links . switching off rules .
some elusive stuff got nailed in a big way  .

legbeater>gyro mirage>run bs ; legbeater>drifter ; leg>dada curve :P

muted tapping pick up>atomsmasher bsos

ripwalk>spinning clipper>rpt

d.mir>ss dlo>rpt>run - she said it looked pretty...

quantum legover>ss dlo>rpt>huge run

dada curve - they aint bad when done correctly, i hit my first by accident,
still the form was spot on

aaaaand peep this duders :

VORTEX

finally, you cruel bitch mother 8)

Yo Aleksei ! Beatrix is the only girl in our team, and her style and precision
are unparalled in these here parts - if she only spent more time/energy
playing footie, she could kill us all :!:
she was also in vienna, maby you saw her there ...

anyways, i had a big, big session yesterday . everything felt focused and on point .
no flaws in training strategy this time, i stuck to my program and
drilled stuff with due dicipline . When ever energy failed me, i did dexless
and osis - actually, butter>butter>osis rpt for a run-start was one of the best
feeling things in this one.

as in previous, unposted sessions ( last 2 weeks ), i did a lot of tweaking,
a lot of fine tuning . inspired by dat and jorden, i experimented a lot with
the many ways a trick can be executed. mainly clipper, osis, butter,
pdx mir, paradon, all spins, barfly, pdx whirl, drifter and tapping.

i had some decent runs. i footed phoenix>spinning whirl and alp legbeater
i bsosed tons of standards .

new stuff :

para>dlo>plo>para>dlo>fat string

8 unique ducks in a nice run

dso>dlo bsos

atomic ducking clipper both fuckin sides

this ones for the true belivers and original motivators only :

SKULLSMASHER = perfect alpine atom = fullfilment

shred

FUCK YEAH DARYL! YOUR A FUCKING STAR!

How long are your sessions? It seems like you always make it thru alot of concepts, thinking and tweaking. Do you shred really long? Or do you just not do that many runs?

All the other stuff you hit is HAWT as well!

Good questions . To begin with, most of the keystones and frame work of
my game- in this case, learning approach and the process of learning -
is heavily influenced by my two main footbag teachers, Bjoern and Max.

I learned a lot about strucure, repetitions, bothsidedness and stoicism
from Max, so i always shred with a plan that describes what kinda moves/
combos are to be worked on, and also the order of those.
Thats my base, but nothing more .
Its the most fundamental, but not the most meaningful element of my philosophy -
i plan everything in detail, mainly not to forget about our sports various
and plentiful possibilities .
In short, my plans are notes that help an old man to remember things,
a orientation-generalization, not a sacred book of law.

Bjoern taught me a lot about creativity and about making full and
proper use of the possibilities a set/component generates -
i can duck 8 different ways, with all basic stuff after the duck, because
of Bjoerns example.
His way of playing also encourages me to try new stuff, to experiment
and to go big (eventually).

Since i try to integrate these two approaches everytime i play,
my sessions are quite long - 2 + hrs when i'm alone, and an extra
hour when we team up.
Working the standards, practicing big moves, consolidating drills,
tweaking and tuning and having a good ol' time with runs is to much for
me to do every session . On the bus to our spot, i decide what i want
from this day, energy level and the vibe of the sesh also determine what
i'll do .

The only real outlines of my training routine are bops at the start
and at the end, and the general emphasis on runs ( opposed to my
former drill fetish ; now, i want o shred nicely, and not to tick a box ! )

On sunday, i did my general warm up routine - kicks, triforce, tiltless,
bops, dexless, easy runs -, then some work on dlo, drifter, whirl, spins,
tapping, quantum, stepping, barfly and symple swirl .
I felt like toe combos, tried some new and attainible links, mostly in runs,
and at the end of the session i was back tweaking around.
This is how it works, i think that everything needs and has strucure,
but only to outline stuff . Like so, i dont get stuck trying to hit a too hard
combo for ages, i remind myself of the sports variety, i can switch
to something easy when i need to .
My progress rate is slow, but steady and even . I can hit most trix,
pixie excluded, on both sides avec plaisir, and i have a fair range of moves too.
I want to be able to hit styled out, long, flowy and creative runs -
the scientific proof that a human can learn to shred like a crazy robot
within 1,5 years has already been brought by others...

New stuff :

tapping legover b2b

symple swirl midstring - that felt soooo good, thank the gods for osis :)

tap>ducking legover>rpt>run

toe blur>dim>d.butter

tapping leg>tapping pick up>ss dlo>smear>run

tapping leg>quantum leg>run

atom>tapping leg>butterswirl 8)

barfly>symple swirl

Hang on - Skullsmasher? Barfly>Symple Swirl? VORTEX???

Damn.

I'm in awe. It's a shame I never get to play with you on mondays.
Next week count me in on wednesday! Can't wait to shred with you
again!!

You're the true madman - shredwise.

You inspire me to drill
spinning more - so I can hit my dream move before you do - Mobius

I'm glad you like all that :D
when i hit skull, i felt like a little kid who cant wait to tell his dad,
i almost phoned you to tell you, but i feel silly enuff already....

your latest spinning progress put a lot of smiles on my face, especially
your perfect - thats what they called it - spinning ducking clipper !
try gyro ducking mirage, one of the most underused, stylee fours and
hella fun too.

today i felt kinda strange and tired, so no high energy shred from my side,
but a lot of fine tuning and bops .
Tobi also showed up, it was really nice to see him - i guess Euros was the
last time we talked and kicked . He was also on some low energy bull,
which suited my mood and abillities a lot . Misery loves company .
In all, it was a nice and mellow sesh, a welcome change from my daily intellectual adventures .

butter>spinning clipper>rpt>ss butter>duck clip>rpt>small combo

whiz ( whirling insidestall ) bs, got close to blazing legover

diving clip>ducking osis bs

drifter>d.clip>d.clip>rpt>run ( for Max)

tapping legover>dso bs and dso>t.leg on one side

spinning clipper>merkon>gyro mirage 8)

clipper downtime is on its way up again, both barflies get better, symple
swirl will be part of my routine soon .

Thanks Marco ! We should have a session, before this year comes to an end .

DONT CALL IT A COMEBACK SESSION :

The long wait is over - i played again today, after three weeks of pain and humiliation .
It feels so good to shred, i need the endorphins, the laughs,
the challenges, the cursing, the dexing, the the stalling and also the
happy and wordless tiredness that grips me after a good, hard
shred .

I cant really say much about french open, since i played 30 mins in
6 days, it was nice too see some friends, and i loved exploring the
streets and museums with my girlfriend Pia . Without her, this trip would have been somewhat desasterous .

Now, after a long rest ( at least for me ) and with new orthopedic insoles,
i was giving things a fun restart today. I can move my ankle ok,
today's session was some sort of an orientation thing ;
i felt rusty of course, but everything i tried eventually worked -
probably because it was easy stuff mostly  . And i played in lavers .
I love them, they are, as Max Kerkhoff cleverly pointed out, they are
the worst footbag shoe, but they"make" the best style .

some new stuff and mini lights :

quantum muted clipper bs

ingyro mirage bs ( from clipper)

spinning clipper>barfly

kool toe stuff like tapping pick>quantum leg>run, easy assasins, and
after many attempts another SKULLSMASHER .

and i hit solestall, Fuck Yeah !!!

I signed up for a secret training which i start this friday ; i tried it today,
just to see if i can take it - its hard, but fun, and worth all the work .

whats a scullsmasher? and what sort of insole do you use? like, whats the purpose of them, i have ortopedic ones too, but they are not usable for shred stuff, and i have some slight pain in my knee, and i am not sure if i should invest in some "honza-ish" kneebandage thingy or insoles....

wellcome back :P i guess we should have a session untill this year ends, but when, and were....and....when....and were.....and... i got it... in the hofbräuhouse.... :D in the "lobby"

Yo Marco, its good to know that great minds think alike :D

About them soles, i dont use em for shreddage, just to get thru the day,
which involves a lot of standing around making faces and this dreadful thing
called walking . I will get an extra pair of "orthopedic sport soles" with
better support and less edges . If i used the standard ones for footbag,
i wouldnt feel my clipper at all .

Anssis program is great - it tackles all my waeknesses, but i feel improvement
already, especially in the flip pixie and bop department .
I can wholeheartedly recommend it to everybody to sign up aswell,
trainingwise, this is the best tthing that ever happened to my game :P

and fyi, skullsmasher is atomic ducking mirage
