Yeah, pretty epic...

Now speaking of what's actually epic -- props on your shred, Danny! Let's have a fat session this Saturday! It would be nice to have a session with everyone there sooner rather than later to maybe pump people up about the summer. Let's get a session with myself, Justin, Ricky, Danny, Ben, Dan, and Justin S.! That would be the shiznitnick.

Also...

AUGUST 11th-13th MUAHAHA.

Just soloed for about... Two hours or so. It was a good drilling session. I worked on downtime moves and spinning/ducking since I haven't actually -drilled- either of those in a while - just busted them at group sessions a lot. Applied Jorden's advice I got from him regarding arm positions and it helped quite a bit during the warm-up.

Results:

- one run with ducking/diving/spinning/gyro clipper all bsos twice, as well weaving/zulu clipper bsos once (didn't quite make it to the second time around on either of those around)
- a run with dlo, pdx dlo, drifter, pdx drifter, and pdx whirl all bsos
- a run with pdx dlo, drifter, pdx drifter, pdx whirl, and whirl all bsos (couldn't quite get the whole thing.. maybe next session -- I want to eventually hit the full drill with blender, torque, and dyno all added)
- spinning ducking butterfly>tomahawk bs
- spinning whirl>tomahawk bs

Fun session overall. Nothing huge, but perhaps next group session I'll play strongly as a result. Tomahawk is getting much easier which is making me very happy considering how fucking hard it was last summer.

Edit: Next session I am ONLY going to work on combos! Need to quit this default to bsos bull shit out. :)

45ish minuteish session. Basically worked on BOP. My tiltless is exactly where it should be in my opinion. wooooo.
The last 5 or so minutes I just worked flip clippers. They are the only thing I don't like, except for flip pixies. It just feels so awkward sometimes. hah.

I'm probably gonna shred reeeeally hard tomorrow if the weather is good, then take a day or so off. My knee has been feeling funky ever since I hit smear up a step. lol. I should go stretch.

Peace Blog :P

Glad to hear that the RCS club has at least two dedicated modified junkies like me.

Sam (in response to the rant post)- I know how you feel, a lot of times I feel so down about my game just becuase I can't do something that I've been trying for ever, or becuase i can't drop every osis that I try, or becuase every time I try a string over 10 contacts I drop the bag. I was talking with Red the other month and he said something that really made an inpact on me: "You'll get to the point when every day is an 'on' day, and the only days that you're 'off' are when you're sick, but it's all about the level of experiance and time that you've played." See, I've only been playing for 3 years, and I can't really push myself that much becuase of physical limitations that I've been trying to overcome (my knees will start to hurt, my body isn't endurance based, and I can't keep going or I start to get sloppy and roll my ankle or ACTUALLY injur myself). I also have a hard time focusing on my shred, and often get distracted and drop it. I can understand why you get frustrated, but I admire the parts of your game that you don't like, and I encourage you to persue the parts that you want to improve on.

Danny - P to da R to da O to da P to da S, PROPS! Damn that was some hot shiznit

To both of you - DAMN! It's good to hear that there is some sick shit being hit just north of here. I can't wait until folklife, it'll be so sick!

Nick,

Thanks for the post, bud. What you said has actually really helped me put a lot of things in perspective. Normally I look at you and just think, "There's Nick again - unstoppable, and busting crazy shit." However, knowing that you have your own set of challenges and limitations is encouraging. Everyone's human, and I'm not really playing this game against superhumans with totally indestructible bodies. Not that I'm really playing it against you and others of our rough skill level, more like I'm playing it with you, and part of it is using you guys as both a challenge and inspiration. At any rate, thanks. It seems obvious, but hearing you actually say that encourages me quite a bit.

Oh, and... FOLKLIFE/US OPEN! Can't wait to shred with you, man! It's only been a couple months, but it's definitely been too long. :D

Second solo session of the week! School is in session. :D I don't want to chance pissing my parents of by playing in my room and stinking the place up any more than I have to, so I'm hoping the weather will hold and I'll be able to start outdoor sessions at a nearby tennis court or elementary school. I was inspired by Byrin's latest video, so I worked on my shuffle which I very rarely do outside of group sessions. If I can figure out a nice approach to this, I would love to be able to school my shuffle regularly. I can hit pixie drifter/dlo NO problem because pixies are so easy for me. I can hit fog and blurry drifter pretty inconsistently, and I'm thinking that it's because my stepping set isn't totally natural. It's all right, but it's nowhere near as strong as my pixie set. I'd really, really like to be able to hit fog and blurry drifter with as much consistency as the pixie versions of those moves. Also if I can start hitting stepping ducking... then I will have finally stolen both Justin and Ricky's souls!! Muhaha!!!

There weren't any really crazy highlights, but I did hit two things I was very satisfied with.

-Vertigo BS. Because of my hip I never thought I would hit this move on either side. Stoked!! :D
-2x Vortex BS. I was doing consecutive drifters during the session at one point and I decided to give this a whack. Pretty pumped about this one.

Overall, a fun session. Hopefully I'll be in shredding shape for Saturday.

Peace!

I went to Seattle on saturday and kicked with Sam. I played bad. My left shin really hurt after awhile, so I just watched Sam.

Sam was epic. I can't remember all that he hit... Cause well... I partied later that night. Maybe he can help out on that. Since he NEVER POSTS!

Just kiddin' man, givin' you a hard time and all.

I played a bit today, even though my shin still hurts. Just worked osii. It went pretty well. My average was like... 4. Here and there I did about 8ish. But yeah. I iced my shin afterwards. It felt goooood.

Yes Danny! Ice that mother!

I post plenty. Check the post count. I just don't want to post what I hit on an average session, which that was, although I had a few pretty nice runs here and there. Sucks that you couldn't kick, man. I was looking forward to tearing shit up with you. You looked you were struggling with that shin, though, so ultimately I'm glad you refrained from kicking.

PUTS's Stepfather = the dooopeness!!!

Also check out their 'pirate' version... hilarious stuff. Equally worth the listen.

Folklife = Will be awesome. I also cannot wait. I am icing a lot, just so I can play top notch.

I played lightly today. Only for like 20ish minutes in some slacks since I had time to kill. Went alright, to be honest. Lots of BOPy goodness. And a lot of tiltless too.

It was fun.

I have come to the conclusion that when I kick with people, I hurry everything up, so it look bad. I will definatly change that.

Sam and Danny! My hommies! What's been happening with you guys of late? I got back fro the montana Jam about a week ago and I'm proud to say that there was plenty of Byrin and Nick footage, but Kevin C. was running the booth most of the time, so he wasn't kicking much. James Randall got some great footage of Roary, Byrin, and me, but hasn't posted or edited it yet (POST SOON JAMES!!!)
