Okelidokeli, I'm super stoked because I discovered a new potentially sweet shred spot 10 minutes from where I live.

Tried it out yesterday and it's good. An asphalt basketball court next to a primary school. Public but not too much so (hidden from view from the street by some bushes).

I had a good 1h session there in spite of the cooold. Did some averagely long runs but notably hitting whirl war 1 got me excited. Hit it starting from the other side right after that.

Also skooled blurry whirl (next step: BSOS) and PS whirl (dito).

1h of shred the day before was good but not exceptional. I worked on matador>ripwalk repeat a.o. and got decently close.

I had my second session at the "new potentially sweet shred spot" from the above post. And already I've had the chance to hand out a footbag flyer :) . The guy to whom I gave it told me that when summer comes the place is a popular hang out for youngsters who play football. I guess that's good, as such groups invariably have some members who are into freestyle tricks and a good show :) . The shred spot turns out to be "potentially sweet" on more than one level.

Other than that my session was mediocre. I skooled osis and paradox illusions a bit and hit fairy muted clipper>pdx ill>repeat from my challenge list. Repeatedly fucked up at least 3 other challenges on the last trick :x .

I've come up with a list of new year's resolutions, i.e. stuff I want to have hit by December 31, 2007.

-45 or more guiltless
-10 or more tripless
-5 or more fearless
and for the voids in my game:
-swirl BSOS
-eggbeater BSOS

I will add stuff to this list.

First time in aaaages I have to go looking for my blog on the second page. It means I haven't been here much lately.
I feel I've spent way too much precious time on the net in 2006. And I've just found out it's not worth it. Less time wasting on the net in 2007; consider it an unofficial new year's resolution.

Had a few short sessions (all in all 2h15 or so) since my last update. Most notably I hit blurry whirl BSOS. 30 osi, I've been reskooling those.

Here's another footbag-related resolution for 2k7:

-10 unique toe guiltless.

I have played fb for only 30 minutes or so this year (BOP session), so I guess that's not much of a good start.

Anyway, I found something funny from last year: Making of Stimorol footbag movie

I guess that's a no :)

Had the weirdest session last night. I had not yet kicked for real this year so I was on a bit of a low self-esteem footbagwise + with all other options down, the only place I could kick was the living room and I generally do bad there. Kicked/punched the wall several times in the first 20 or so minutes (and by doing so killed my left toe box, which had been wearing down for months. It's now attached only by 2 inches of mesh and a tiny strap of sole).

Anyway, on a whim I decided to try rubberman and hit it first try. WTF? :? I've been trying that drill (and been decently close) for over a year, then I don't kick for 2 weeks, and hit it right away after that with my 1st and 2nd atom smashers of the year  . WTF.

Realising it was a good day for trying stuff on a whim, I tried some paradox eggbeaters and footed those repeatedly (this is weird because I've never hit regular egg, just one bubbabeater). Then tried regular egg and footed that as well. I repeat: WTF?

Went on with some swirls (another void in my game) and hit some on both sides.

Finally I could tick another combo on my challenge list: paradox whirl>paradox drifter both sides. So yeah, an hour well-spent despite what I expected.

The time has come to retire my very first pair of rod lavers. Pretty sad thing to have to ditch the shoes in which you hit your first mirage, but I guess there's nothing for it when the sole is gone.

So I've had two 50 minute sessions since the previous post I think. They were alright, though I couldn't shred to full potential given the shoe situation. Matador bsos in a 20 contact run, smear>pixie mirage repeat (probably not new but in my challenge thread), footed eggbeater.

I'm dieing to mod my new lavers. I plan to take out the canvas on them, which I didn't for my last pair. My only concern is that the right shoe has this sharp metally edge on the inside just above my big toe. I've played in the shoes before but every time I've had to stop after half an hour because of the blood spillage. 8O I hope I can fix that though I'm not sure how.

Hm, maybe that's the way to get this credibility.

Happy new year Wim.

Yeah, either that OR shredding with a gun bulge in your shorts.

So I modded my lavers today. And it wasn't even that hard! The inside canvas came out like nothing, though the toe was a little harder. Also cut the threads for a wider toe box. I'm curious how/if this will affect my game, as I've never played in fully-modded shoes before (only did the lacing on my other pair).

I had a short session last night to test the shoes. I have to get used to about 145 things about them but I reckon once I do my game will probably be better off. Little shred proper highlight: I upped my osis record from 33 or so to 39.

Today I did a small brocka mod too. I figured it won't hurt. Besides, I've completely mutilated my shoes yesterday so I might as well go all the way. :)

Yeah, I totally llllluv my new shoes! Much to my surprise, after only three days it feels like I'm pretty much where I left with the other lavers.

Good things about today's session:
-did 33 guiltless pretty much out of the blue. My personal best has been 33 for a few months now, so after the 33rd trick I thought: "hey, I'll go for a ducking clipper now, just to be on the safe side so I'm sure I break my old record". And I dropped  . D'oh!
-atomic whirl! New trick. Is that a 5?
-diving osis back 2 back. That's a cool combo!
-repeatedly got 4.5 tricks into rubberman starting from 'flip' toe.
-gave a flyer to a kid who seems to be really enthousiastic about footbag. Hope to see him around. Gave a general footbag introduction to 5 other kids. :o
-It was like 15°C outside, which is ideal for shred not to say almost HOT for this time of year!

And oh yeah yesterday I hit some more new tricks: symple reverse swirl (was happy) and gyro butterfly (that's haard!).

Danke Daryl!

Yeah, the Finns (or the Polish for that) probably do stuff like reactor in warm-up BOP runs  .

Yeah, I tried to flip reactor today but couldn't.

In fact I had the most crappy session ever but I managed to somewhat brighten things up by hitting rubberman starting from 'flip' atom at the very end of it.

Yeah biaiaiaiatch.

Yeah I'm sorry for the definition mix-up. YESTERDAY was my real crappy session. I played for 1h30 and had like 12547 challenges/combos I wanted to give a try. And I couldn't hit a single one of them :x .

Then, again at the very end of it all, I tried some dragon stalls and HIT 'EM bs :? :D . That my first new guilt since I learned the ass stall nearly 2 years ago.

I was thinking of some guiltless drills that involve dragon and I guess skooling infinities (to dragon) is a good idea.

That dragon infinity drill will probably have to wait a tad longer. It's ridiculously hard!

Yesterday's sesh was total crap, but today I managed to sneak in an outside sesh 1.30h before sunset. I always kick better outside.

Did:
-ripwalk x 17 (new PB)
-rubberman into dimwalk>sidewalk>ripwalks>?sidewalk? I don't remember if I dropped after, during, or before hitting the sidewalk, which is pretty important as 10 unique tripless would not only be a new PB but also a check on my New Year's challenge list. Ah, I'll just do it again to be sure.

Session with the noob kid planned for tomorrow!
