Clavens is looking good, will be interesting to see who wins the US Open, as he's not there.

Let's see how I go with the class today to see what kind of shape I'm in. I think it could kill me.

As promised, here's some pictures

This is from our recent trip down the coast. Francisca with Pambula Rivermouth, a famous surf break in the background. It wasn't quite there that day, but you can see the lines coming in, you can see how it works.

This one's from a while ago- just before I went to London. With my Finnish friends. We decided to walk up Black Mountain in the middle of the night. It was awesome.

Here's a picture of me playing Footbag. This is one place we play a bit, in Belconnen. The lake is a nice view if you don't look to close.

Don't worry, it only works once every 6-7 years. You're not the only one who's missing out.

I have probably had one reasonable surf there, I know my Dad has had a few. Tracks etc write about it sometimes, but that talk of it more as a myth.

So a girl I was working with at tours has got a soccer scholarship at Berkely.

I am awaiting an invite to some kind of wild party as seen in many bad teen movies.

I did that "core" class today. It went pretty well. Not feeling too bad, a bit sore, but that's too be expected. It didn't kill me, so that shows good things.

Before the class in the room I was practicing some Footbag in front of the mirrors there, that was a bit of a weird experience, not something I've really done before.

So I'm going well for fitness so far this week, getting on my footbag game. Should eat better, that may come, but it probably won't.

Round about this time last year, some weird people were trying to sneak in through our back window and steal our stuff.

In the end I actually slept through the whole thing and only heard about it when I woke up.

The potential robbers didn't make their way in, and nothing like that happened again. It was a slight glitch in an incredible trip.

I've been reading up on Wikipedia about Oakland.

Apparently one of the most violent cities in the US. It's in the top 5 for violent crime.

Tough.

Had a good practice yesterday, went through my routine a lot of times. Did with 4 drops, hoping to at least hit it dropless before I leave. Which is in about 10 days. Wow. Coming up soon.

9 days, Worlds is coming up soon.

Have done a whole bunch of tours today and yesterday, and signed up for a few more next week, so I shouldn't be out of pocket in Oakland (unless I was to be robbed).

Played yesterday, not much actual training, just a fun shred. Hit some good stuff, ripped warrior, matador, locomotion, some things I haven't hit in a while.

Going to Sydney tonight to watch some bands, will probably just go up and back in the evening. Long drive.

So I went to Sydney the other day, we drove up and back in the night.

Smashed into a Kangaroo on the way home, not that good. Show was great though.

Will probably have to spend a bit of money to get the car fixed, that can wait until coming back though.

Leave on Sunday, should be cool.

We played today at Lyneham shops, I felt I was in some really good form, I hit some really long runs, it's good to be doing that a week out from Worlds.

Although it's a fairly superstar lineup, there are some big holes, people that it would be really great if they were there because they are good buddies of mine.

Still, will be cool to make some new friends, and I'm glad I went for that express trip, because I got to see the main people I will be missing when I get to San Fran.

Really can't believe it's next week. I guess, I've done a bit in between Berlin and now, quite a lot actually, but it still doesn't seem like a year since the last time I was doing this.

Should be nice to get out of Canberra for a little while. And it really is only a little while. 10 days total I'll be gone.

Apparently SF has some great burrito shops, will be keen on that. Hopefully they surve good chips with secret herbs as well a la Salsa Mexican Grill in Melbourne, and not no chips ala Zambreros in Canberra.

Going to drink some beers tonight, everyone from work is at the karaoke night downstairs in the bar, I am on the desk. Just put on the A Secret Death album to get me in the mood for some beer.

So yesterday when we were playing I met this guy Pat. He came again today, looks like we may have a new recruit. He has a lot of hacky moves, he can do stalls, some clippers, pendulum. We have been playing some good circle hacking and it's good to just change up your game every now and then.

I have been trying a lot of flapper kick style tricks, with varying degrees of success. Also looking at stuff like clipper stalls in the air, just mucking round with concepts I've never really thought about.

Apart from that, been working on two bag stuff, so I still can't actually juggle like a normal person, but I have been able to do a bit of toe>clipper stuff, and the list of tricks I can doing with two bags is becoming more and more extensive. A new one I learnt today was paradox mirage...still can't juggle though....

Being working on some harder tricks too.

This picture holds a tenuous link to footbag, but is awesome all the same.

It's a sculpture of Michael Klim, a famous Australian swimmer (plenty of gold medals, world records in the late 90s/early 2000s).

In the mouth of the sculpture he holds an AIS branded footbag.

Actually the picture is awesome, enough said.

should be awesome!...you should just pop down for a day or two.

Got a bit of a wave yesterday, wasn't brilliant, water was cold, and another guy faceplanted into the sand and smashed his face in.

I'm about to board for S.F and I'm totally stoked.

I had big day yesterday going over my routine, nearly every time I did with 3-4 drops. I think if I can get in the range of 0-3 drops, I may have a chance of going through, but we'll see. All the pools look pretty hard, but I just hope to have a good run.

In my pool also: Bevier, Marcin, Tomas O., me, Ryan R.

Let's see...

I can guarantee in circle I will probably be last.

I hit alpine blurry whirl and Clavens gave me props, by the side of the hotel pool.

Day one of worlds, pretty good.

At this pub/free wi fi provider, the bloke gave us 10 free songs on the jukebox. What a legend. He just came to our table and asked if we wanted more beer.

I'm stoked about being here. So glad I came.

Had a good Thai dinner. Pretty pleased with my life at the moment.

I've hit it a couple of times before, not very many though. Was nice to hit it.

This morning there was a press conference. David was explaining Footbag to some reporters with Vasek.

"Ok Vasek, you show them some ducks and dives, I'll do another trick". He put on his shorts and hit nemesis, first try.

Not bad at all.

Circle contest today. I was real bad. I did hit matador in one round, but in my pool, I was always going to be the last place. Manna, Reid, Toni. All those guys are awesome. I'm not sure who went through actually, but they all deserved to.

Most impressive of the morning aside from these guys were Jay Boychuck and Phil Morrison.

I write this with the pleasant sounds of jackhammers in the background. Nice time for a major construction work.

Think I might go into San Francisco today, I haven't been there yet.

Had good night at the bar across the road with Ben from Austin yesterday. Went back to the event site, there were people playing four square until 3am.

Feel so much better today, I was angry the whole day yesterday, just wanted to smash stuff etc.

Had a really good night just smashing beers in the Pacific Coast Brewery with Ben, just talking a lot of shit, we were on the free wi fi, telling Andrew Grant what he was missing out on.

Also talked lots of shit with one of the girls working there, Flavio. After a while we started talking Footbag. We made her try, she did some toe stalls and I think a clipper kick as well.

Today I was back there for lunch, the food there is enormous and well priced. Today I had a chicken breast sandwich with chips. It was awesome. Met Dale from Shred Global today. He is a great guy.

Speaking of, I wrote a new article today.
