I'm not sick anymore!!! Yay!

6:00PM Workout 1 of 1 for Thursday 2/16/06 - Lifting

I didn't want to work too hard the second I started feeling better so I just hit the gym. Also, I got a little spooked the other day. I was J-walking across 5th Ave. and hopped over the hand rail to get back on the sidewalk. My bad knee just barely tapped the rail under the knee cap and I felt one of the most sudden and sharpest pains of my life. So maybe the appeal running has in the morning (because it takes 30 minutes less time than lifting) had negative effects on my health because them tendons be SORE! So, I have new impetus to stick to the schedule more........starting next week.

Hehe. Props Ian. That probably looks just as stylie as my combo anyway. To answer your question, I haven't stopped playing footbag or even slowed down (besides when I was injured). But, when I used to post on modified I would be talking to the same like 50 guys that I probably had on my AIM list, so I lost interest. Haha. Anway, now I got a pretty laid back office job and I have unlimited time to post and read, so I fell back into it. Then I decided to make a footblog to log my recent workout routine because I don't think many people look at the physical side of the sport, only the talented side of the art. You know what I mean? So, I like to think it's like an example to the people that ONLY play footbag and don't do additional exercise. And it's an opportunity to share some knowledge I gained coming back from a serious injury.

On a lighter note, Andrew, I actually don't spin. That pic is from when I was 16 years old at a club and asked the 6'2" 250lb black guy behind the tables if I could take a pic with them. He didn't even blink, leaned over and said "You touch anything......I break you" AHAHAHAHAH Good times, good memories!" He actually grabbed me by the neck and put those headphones on me. I was scared as shit. But I probably should find a new avatar. That pic is 4 years old. Just SO badass.

1:00PM Workout 1 of 2 for Sunday 2/19/06 - 2.5 hour session

I kicked with Jake and Ian today again. We all had a sweet session. I even feel pretty good after it all. Excuse my terrible footbag lingo when posting the highlights (I encourage the corrected terms):

-Blurriest>Blurrier>Blurriest>Blurrier......shit, right off the edge of my sole
-Blurry whirl>Blurry whirl>Blurriest>Blurriest
-Bedwetter>Smog>long string
-Pixie Quantum Butterfly (Frantic Butterfly?)
-Paradox Witchdoctor (I have no idea what this is called)
-Paradox Torque ending in dyno (Paradox Torquescrew?)
-Atomic DLO>Atomic DLO (SOOOOO close!!! Is this called Predator?)
-Quantum Double Down (Plasma?)
-Very very close to Alpine Fog

My biggest Link ever probably:
-Mobius>Vertago

This workout routine is DEFINITELY working for me I think. I'm progressing so fast lately that I'm starting to hit things, and then midstring start thinking "I can't believe I just busted that!" and then keep stringing. Haha. It's a cool feeling.

Location: Pitt Classroom - Apparently we took over the classroom that the Pitt Theosophical Society was supposed to meet. Whatever the hell that even is.
Self Status: Flying high
Leg Status: Tired, not sore

Tip of the day:
For those of you that are how I used to be, and play footbag everyday because it's just so freaking fun: I strongly suggest doing 6 days a week like I'm doing now. I find that with a 7day schedule your body can't even catch up. Then, if you ever miss a day for whatever random reason, the next day you bust HUGE. Your body needs time to recover and a day of rest is just as important as the days of activity in order to progress.

word, i get better so much faster and more consistantly when i dont play every single day. i think jorden plays like 4 hours every other day. i think its a great idea. but like you say, its so much fun, so i dont take as many days off as i should. yeah, atomic DLO is predator and pixie quantum is frantic.
really insane stuff

Wow, I slept through the day. So usually once a week I come home from work completely wiped out and I just crash on my bed. But it's never been on a Monday before. And it's never been for 4 hours. I'm a little worried. I got 6 hours of sleep last night, which is standard for me. And I haven't even been following the 2-a-day schedule very well. I wonder why I'm so tired.

Keeping up with the blog is just as hard as keeping up with the workout schedule.

6:00AM Workout 1 of 2 for Tuesday 2/21/06 - Stair Run

I forgot my watch. But I ran so that's what is important. It probably was an average time. I should have more energy for the night workout today.....hopefully. Haha.

Awesome strings 8O

I was looking at some pictures from a tourney last August, and I really have lost weight... I dont have time to go to the gym, so all I do is kick. I was doing pushups and situps in the morning, but that lasted for about a month.

I was reading you couple of most recent posts, and I thought "wait a minute, before when I was workin out and lifting, I felt stronger at footbag AND my legs (knees), weren't creaky... "

I will start working out again. I already am a skinny white boy, but when I dont work out... I really lose my girlish figure.

Also, props on working out as much as you do. It has given me the motivation to take the time to start again. I will do lots of pushups and especially crunches. Bunches of crunches...

I should look up leg exercises that can be done in an apt. I know some, but Im no Caleb when it comes to exercise knowledge

Thanks for the encouraging words. It's what keeps me going. And TJ that's so awesome that you decided to workout routine. That's the whole point of this blog is to push everyone else.

6:00AM Workout 1 of 2 for Wednesday 2/22/06 - Lifting

Legs and abs today. w00t w00t

Location: Peterson Event Center
Self Status: Protein shakes make me want to puke. But I'm great
Leg Status: A-OK

Tip of the Day:
Though you may be able to notice that certain tricks are related by name (ex. learning torque helps with pdx torque, mobius, barroque, etc.) there are also muscle that are related among tricks. Learning symp whirl helps with lifting off for furious sets and flurries. Drifters and torques use similar muscle groups. The same goes for many other tricks. It's something to think about when shredding and skooling.

GNC 100% Whey Mixed Berry flavored BABY!!! So disgusting.

7:00PM Workout 2 of 2 for Wednesday 2/22/06 - 2 hr solo session

Well, a little bit of seems to go a long way. I'll have to start getting more than 6 hours on a regular basis because I was on FIRE today. PS whirls felt strong even on my weakside. And I don't think that has ever happened before. It was my first real session with my new FootFighter bag also. Those things are saweeeeet!

-Predator>Predator
-Blurry whirl>Blur>Fusion (repeat)
-Looooong strings
-Ducking pdx whirl (BSOS)
-BS whirl>Whirlwind
-Superfly **New move** You have no idea how hard that has been for me.
-Bladerunner **New move**
-5 Blurriests
-7 Blurry whirls
-And I knocked out a few challenges

I think I'd better take some Advil even though I feel fine right now. I can't imagine what all those PS whirls may do to me tomorrow.
