You can wear anything you want when you play footbag. You won't be kicked from the circle even if you were wearing a skirt.

It's just up to you. It's so easy to make starting footbag hard.

I should have some vid up soon and you will see the skinniest legs in footbag(probably) I never wore shorts because my legs are sticks and some idiots talk shit but since footbag the shorts are standard and if anyone says shit they can fuck off. The only thing that prevents shorts in the summer is my motorcycle( I hate idiots in shorts and sandals on a bike, I even saw a guy once on a cell while riding  )

TheVindicator: a week later and still no response....I don't know if you will ever get one from him.

...I always thought footbaggers were notoriously associated with skinny legs....no?

I can play pretty decent tiltless in my pants...but they're really tight. But basically, if I have a spot to leave my pants, then I usually take em off and play in shorts. I neeeeeeeeeever wore shorts before I played footbag. I hated them. And now that I play I HAVE to wear shorts. It's not like I had this sudden change in fashion sense. Footbag made me do it. Anybody who's too much of a pussy to take their pants off in public is gonna have difficulty if they decide to compete and have every person that's there watching your shitty legs. Basically, if you wanna get better, try to shred in shorts as much as you can. If you wanna suck and not progress at all, then don't wear shorts ever and just shred in big baggy pants and basketball shoes.

I noticed t1337dude hasn't posted in a while. I hope he didn't feel bullied. If you read this, please post again! I don't know why, but I NEED closure to this thread!

I personally don't care if you ended up getting shorts or not. There is lots of footbag fun to be had in pants. Some of the other users may have posted harsh comments here, but everyone REALLY justs wants you to succeed and be the best you can be.

Here's a story:
I once played footbag in Toronto with Mosher, who, I believe, just came all the way from Kingston.

He. Forgot. His. Shorts.

I remember the look on his face when he routed through his bag and couldn't find them. He then asked us several times if there was any place to buy shorts in the area. It was late, there was no store near us, so he just did what he had to. He took off his pants and played in his ...

Ah. I should really let him finish the story...
But let me just say that that guy has balls! (pun intended? you decide). He did what he had to do despite the fact that the whole session was being filmed!

Nope. Haven't summoned up the courage (or money) to do it. Plus, I just got 4 new pairs of pants, yet my mom disregarded the "Shorts" suggestion. Shorts just aren't for me.

Hahaha, I don't feel bullied at all. But then again, I haven't read the last few posts yet. It's just I haven't bothered coming to these forums lately.

And you're story is quite hilarious. (Who's more stubborn? Me, or Mosher?)
.

But the reason I just came back was because I have a story that I will be posting in the General Forum. It's something I *really* need advice on.

Thanks for the support by the way. Shorts is near the top on my wish-list. I have mastered the leg-over, around the world, the clipper, the hop over, and the pendulum in the meantime. I've been waiting for my friends to catch up. More kids got their lavers.

EDIT - By the way, I have played in both boxers and briefs at home. I can't honestly say it helped me out that much. I think shorts are being slightly overrated. But I will get them.

It's not that we all love shorts. It's more like we all hate pants.

Also, don't wait for your friends to catch up! Blow those suckers out of the water!!!

Pants > Shorts.

Also, If I went too far ahead of my friends, I'd figure they'd give up. I will always stay slightly ahead of them. for the edge.

This isn't mainly it, but one of the reasons I choose not to wear shorts is because I don't want to seem insanely obsessed with footbag to the point where I change my style of clothing and everything that was me before completely. Hell, in my school, even getting slightly interested in anything besides being a dumbass is "uncool". Footbag isn't my #1 priority. All my hobbies that I am really obsessed with I keep private. For example : I am obsessed with PC Hardware. I build two PCs from scratch , and modify them all the time. It's great. But not one person from my school knows it. I guess you can say I do care about my social status.

Keep playing and you'll eat those words, I garanty that. While you might be able to bust atw and leg over in pants, you will soon realize that shorts are needed to hit the good stuff.

I can play fine in pants (not as good as in shorts). But when you do become obsessed, and you will, you will want to do any small thing to make your game better. In fact every year I play, my shorts get shorter and shorter, and I'm proud to wear them.

Some people might talk shit about your shorts, but seriously, when you're stringing big tricks in peoples faces, they won't even notice your shorts. I was worried about it at first, when I was starting out, but a couple months in I didn't care anymore, because the "Yo that dude's wearing really short shorts" kinda comments turned into "HOLY SHIT" kinda comments. And it doesn't take much more than stringing atw bothsides to get your general numpty excited.

Well now the problem is revealed. You're not pushing your game like you could be. What's even more important than what you wear is simply how dedicated you are. In a month, you will be pissed at yourself for "waiting up" and you'll think about how all the tricks you're trying to hit, you could have already been hitting.

Or just get shorts with a liner and wear them as underwear ...

Or carry scissors around incase you need to make and emergency pair or cut-offs ...
