We need a democracy obviously but i think its not going to happen unless we keep fighting for it. Just like any other law being made it took time, effort, and a shit load of people getting pissed off at each other. Until we come to a Unanimous decison like most countries do, the bitching will never stop.

what i meant by "like most countries do" i meant countries like in europe or the USA or something like that. Its just theres some countries that dont have a democracies so i didnt want to say " like all countries do". I mean if part of the world can work this way why cant a footbag website built by people for people do the same?

This form is getting crappier everyday. What is needed is a new set of guidelines voted on by the community and stuck to by the admins. No more personal moderatering and no more being dicks to one another. Set out the rules clearly and openly and let the community vote on them. If the community agrees (say 50.1% + or more) have those rules be our guides and those rules alone.

That's completely false. You should read those standards again - they clearly say that going off topic is ok so long as it's relevent to the previous posts. You have completely misunderstood those set of guidelines. It's also clear that the policy of discriminatory langauge where users were temp suspended for using discriminatory language failed - due to the fact that it wasn't widely enforced and too many users use discriminatory langauge. The reason for that policy was because I took the time to run a large survey of all the forum members who wanted to participate and found that the use of discriminatory langauge was a large concern for many members. I'd be curious to know how many members feel that saying that "nobody cares about a particular family member of yours" is an offensive statement worthy of being banned. - I really don't understand how you can find that statement insulting - you know that it's false and it's not insinuating anything about your, or anybody related to you. Do you really care what Dan thinks about your daughter despite everything else he posts on this forum? The only reason I can see that statement being insulting is because you do care what he thinks and if you do care what he thinks why would you threaten to ban him? More importantly why should you be able to to threaten to ban people based on such a minor personal insult.Splint wrote:Jeremy, by your own moderating standards I should delete your post for going off topic.
The reason I was unhappy with the moderation policy is because I don't believe moderators should push their own personal views on people - I believe that they should work with people rather than against them. Brad's view on how to make people do what he wants is to use force and insults. His responce to this topic has been to go to footbag.org and post a topic there asking people to post pictures of their bongs. Humourous as that responce is - it's only humourous because it's so childish. I don't and have never seen being a moderator as a position of power and I believe I should have as much power over forum regardless of my mod status (and that should be no power).Jeremy Mirken wrote:1st Jeremy: Although I respect you a lot, I think its bullshit of you to have recently declined your duties as a moderator yet continue to post, if not more than ever, insults Brad's way. If you don't like the way he is running things, then why did you give up your position of relative power? It makes no sense and I can't see how you're doing anything productive by letting your negative views be known. You're just fueling more Brad hatred, which is not the goal of these discussions.
