East Coast Championships went down in killer style with lots of great shred and partying. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended, as well as our generous sponsors: Jonathan Schneider, Funtastik Alternative Sports, Freedom Footbags, World Footbag Association, James Hermey, Creative Athletics, Jack Lentz, and Lonn Irish.

Everyone who showed up was shredding sharp. As for BAP, Gordon Bevier was busting down circles with huge long smooth phat strings, also taking home the phat trick contest (super dooper fly/poisionous toad) and a very high quality dropless 30 sec shred that stomped everyone. Jonathan Schneider was on fire with his signature artistic style, and provided one of the classiest moments of the tournament when, during the sick trick contest, he hit a perfect ripstein dragon, stuck it, then nailed a flipwalk! OUCH. Greg Nelson was kicking extremely well, mixing it up with long combos, Tsunami was busting combos full of huge trix and was so close to a few unbelievable ones, such as the scary frothy walrus

Making his bid for BAP this year was Steve Golberg, who was shredding better than I've ever seen him in the last decade, and Carol Wedemeyer was looking sharp and smooth and playing great as always.

The future of East Coast freestyle is looking very bright as the youngsters were on hand tearing up circles. Particularly En Fuego was the trio of Dave Clavens, Chris Kovacs (crisco), and Ryan ThomASS. All three of these shredders were putting on a show, playing way beyond their footbag ages. Also huge props to the double threat, Dan Grier, taking home the intermediate titles in freestyle and net, proving that overall players still exist.

I had a blast playing with everyone. The weather was perfect all weekend, the players party was super fun and we were treated to some very special net action in a worlds warm up of shults vs. bouchard.

All I can really say about East Coasts this year is that it was monumental. After how phat the 20th Annual was last year, I thought this year almost had to be a let-down. Not so.

Kenny and Manu's finals match had so many mind-bending plays and moments that it would be impossible to try to describe it in words. Every single shot was absolutely deliberate and strategic. The head games they played were amazing. After all, it was the two best net players of all time. I cannot wait to see a rematch.

Gordon and Peter were absolutely killin' it in the shred circles. Mad props to all, the level of shred was way higher than last year. I tweaked my knee a little bit playing net, so my shred was limited basically to competition only. I was plenty entertained just watching though.

Thank you Vince and thank you Peter. Thanks to everyone else who helped or sponsored. Can't wait for next year!
